The old guy in the video doing the drawing is Don Rosa. He is an American illustrator who created “Scrooge Mcduck” - Tuomas is a huge fan of Don Rosa and he wrote this album after meeting Don Rosa and discussing it with him. Don Rosa said he promptly forgot about it after the initial meeting but several years later Tuomas contacted him again and said the Album had been recorded. Don Rosa said he cried when he listened through it for the first time.
Johanna Kurkela is a famous singer im Finland and Tuomas wife. She also designed amazing knitwear clothes to the music inspired by Auri. Her designs are amazing. I love the guitar solo here, just so wonderful, the whole album is amazing. Johanna herself is like a Disney princess.

Chrissy nailed it. That was the illustrator of Scrooge Mcduck, Don Rosa. The lyrics were based on the Scrooge Mcduck story of going to the Yukon to search for gold. This stuff should be used for an animated movie. Magical.
See the Orchestra is the one Tuomas uses for most his backing tracks. Now some say backing tracks is cheating?. But imagine the expense getting a full orchestra to follow you on tour where ever you go and feeding them and housing them. And anyway if you set the backing tracks to kick in during a song you better be tight in your timing and performance so it takes skills using backing tracks.
The female vocalists here are Johanna Kurkela (Tuomas's wife) and Johanna Iivanainen. You can hear both of them sing in a group called Altamullan Road. Perhaps you could check out their song "When It's Time".
Johanna Kurkela has such a beautiful voice. Tuomas' solo album from 2014, Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge. The other woman here is Finnish singer Johanna Iavanainen, her husband Mikko is playing guitar. Troy played on the record too. It also included regular Nightwish partners, Pip Williams and the London Philharmonic, as well as the Metro Voices Choir. It may have sounded familiar because you have listened to Night 13 by Auri (Tuomas, Johanna ,and Troy). May I suggest another from that band. Recommend Pearl Diving from their 2nd album, Auri II.
Tuomas is a storyteller with emotion - in EVERY song. 🎵 Don Rosa is a storyteller through his Scrooge cartoons. This song is the wonder of childhood and makes you think about the type of wealth in life you value. Johanna’s vocals add the “magical” quality to this song. All super talented artists.
The whole Album is based around a comic book - 'The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck' You follow the book with the music. Beautiful music and book - also a wonderful T-Shirt
Okei. Little facts. In Finland are Donald Duck a much bigger thing then Mickey Mouse. Almost every one hu have been child in the 70's, 80's and 90's has been reading Donald Duck magasines. And then to this Music. Don Rosa (the old guy that is drawing in the video) have done two comic boks that are named The Life Time Of Scrooge mcduck 1 and 2. And Tuomas did this hole album inspired of them. In the Album. Alan Reid is the voice of Scrooge. And the Singers are Johanna Kurkela ( Tuomas Wife), Johanna Iivanainen and in one song Tony Kakko ( friend of Tuomas and the singer of Sonata Arctica). Also in the Album are Troy Donockley and plays some of the instruments. My favorit song of the album are Cold heart of the Klondike
Tuomas Holopainen made this album his own money. It takes few years to do. When his record label heard album they pay all money back to him. Well done by them. Greetings from Finland.
Tuomas has a way doing beautiful music. I never had a chance to say farewell to my dad and that hurts me so. But this song helps me going on. I thank Tuomas for creating this beautiful music. And I thank you Nightwish reactors' showing these, credits to him who create this peace of art 🤘💕

I love this album. As always with Tuomas, much more to it than one song - it's a full story. I love Johanna for three reasons... In reverse order: 3. She is beautiful 2. She has a really lovely voice and by far, far the most important 1. She makes Tuomas happy. You can see it when they are together, and he deserves happiness like that. By the way, I don't subscribe to the Metal Mozart thing. To me, Mozart was mostly show. I prefer to think of him as Metal Mahler. Mahler said "My music contains the world and everything in it" and that's what I see in Tuomas.
Johannas delicate voice, tinkerbell! This is more Auri, than Nightwish. Fascinating to watch a master drawing, while another master weaves a many coloured yarn... :) The reason for not seeing the main subjects "face", is because Disney kicked up a fuss, I guess no Disney film will ever have a Tuomas score now... Opening and closing of a "dark chest of wonders"? Oh, oh, I've discovered a wonderful Easter Egg for Endless Forms...

When you only hear Nightwish, Tuomas' range is huge. But then he also did orchestral album about a duck and his other bands Auri and Darkwoods My Betrothed really expand it even more. He IS music, there is no box to put him in.
interesting song, not really my style (too slow and poppy) but well done, I like how it built as it progressed, and the drums came in stronger. I was surprised that Emppu wasn't the guitarist considering how long they have been friends. Stay safe, God Bless, keep rocking.
It’s for the movie (which is not done yet). There very interesting music on that album, and none of them is metal or even rock… it’s movie music and if you read that book at the same time, you will understand how well it fits 😁
