this video smells just like my good young times when i didnt give a shit about life, i just went to school and when i camed back home i just played wow and loved every fucking second of it.
When BC came out this instance was still available for some time....35 of us (pug) _ 70s went into it..that was when you still needed to be attuned, in EPL. We didnt have good 70 gear but we were still all 70 and let me tell you we wiped 5 times...sure non of us knew the fights but still this instance was no joke!!! To be 60 and doing what Nihilum did is impressive to say the least!
Thanks Tylsen for posting the video.. great times back in Vanilla time.... i miss it so much..... and TBC too.. world of warcraft is not the same after that time....
having cleared all available content heroix erc. from 1st day vanilla till TeS (went inactive at that point) i can safely say that vanilla was simply the best
I used to raid at high end 60 to raid this stuff u had to be in a good guild. I was in a guild called vodka back in the day and apparently they are raw now, but back then they were not top 10 in the world but we got server firsts all the time. And the amount of work we had to put into it to get these server first kills was insane. Wows raiding has improved in the sense it is easier to get involved with. But some of the fights in vanilla were very tactically challenging like 4hmen and c'thun
The whole feeling of WoW is completely different. You used to be social and know everything about everyone on your server. Now they cut out all communication and you don't know who you're playing with half the time.
Espacially in 10 player progress raids, the social aspect now is realy realy important, cause if one guy is starting to flame after 4 hours wiping, you have so hard conflicts to solve... So if all know when they did mistakes, and keep playing you can kill bosses easyer with 1 or 2 bad players, than with 10 pro´s who need after each wipe 15 minutes to calm down.
The number of subs doesn't matter. It was just a more interesting crowd. When they bring out theme mugs and trading card games, it's obvious the audience is different now..
i wasn't commenting on the boss mechanics. " People that say WoW is dead and say this is the best time for it, it's just Nostalgia or Idiocy talking, and it isn't rational thinking" This is an opinion.
Managing 40 people in an "easy" boss fight is not as easy as you may think. The tactics were completely different, you had to worry about group composition due to buffs, you had to worry about groups of tanks, heals, dps, os' etc etc. Wow has evolved a lot, and the game mechanics have improved in certain areas...but classic wow was still a lot harder because the social aspect was far more important then.
You gotta understand this was from 2006, and I'm sure the majority are playing on PC's from 04 & 05 so even with all the video options turned down all the way 12fps is pretty good, Pentium4's were single core cpu's and PentiumD's were very pricey if u wanted dual core, and most gpu's were still AGP styled PCI-E had just came out as well.
Kungen best tank to ever play WoW! But yeah fully world buffed+DMF 10% Damage buff, combine that with 8-set T2 priests and ur gucci. Who got The Hungering Cold?!
kungen spent months trying to figure out the tactics for every boss back in the day you couldn't google the tactics you had to face the boss and learn what he does slowly progress it took them 6 months after the release to complete it
People that whines about the guys who wants vanilla needs to understand a few things: 1. The feeling from playing WoW was entirely different; it was way more interesting and mysterious. This part, can never be relived as it came from the actual time vanilla took place and not the game. 2. A lot of parts from vanilla was way better. The main thing was the community of the server you played on. You knew the people on your server or at least who they were. You fought the same ppl in bgs etc.
Man, patch 1.11: Shadow of the Necropolis and Patch 5.0 Mists of Pandaria is two different games. Sorry about that, you are talking about "rational thinking". Did u raiding in vanilla? ..i thing maybe here on YT.
classic wow had a different focus for tactics, gear and player skill. in all the raiding I did, I never heard anyone actually give that much of a fuck about damage meters. back then it was entirely a gear based game and it was a lot harder to get started into raiding successfully. obviously you couldn't be absolutely garbage, but with how much more difficult it was to get gear, you had to deal with a lot less people raiding that simply didn't know what they were doing.
And even tho YES, Vanilla was alot of fun, it had alot of things that was better than live Wow. but what you need to understand and remember is that people will Always want too love nostalgy If you make a list with things that were better in Vanilla you will get to maybe 5 huge things(This is an example) but if you do this too vanilla you will get 15 What you need to remember is that Vanilla was good, or Amazing 2005. but if you would release that game now, it can't work. still.... vanilla
What a boring encounter, fights are so much more tactically advanced these days but people still claim that the actual ENCOUNTERS pre BC were the best? I agree the community was alot better but these fights have nothing on new encounters. This guy is running at a steady 10 fps and is in no danger of getting killed by shit for the entire fight.
