Thank you for such a wonderful presentation. I myself believe that this project is simply stupid. We cant take so much from nature just for an airport which isn't even that important. We already have other international airports under construction. This is just simply wrong.

It's not only about forest but about the life that exist there if forest is cleared the hundred of species living there will be endangered thousands of bird animal will no where to go..many of national park or wild life reserve will be gone..there's difference between greenery and forest.. Planting tree will brought greenery for sure but it take years to become forest nepal needs the airport as soon as it can but not at the cost of millions of trees and wild life.. Nijgadh is not only the place where airport can be made there's many placese..blind eye given to the existence of forest and wildlife is making me suspicious over government
This is very good project.. It must be build... It will boom the tourism. Forest is everywhere in nepal.. why to stay always poor? What airport is there? Tribhuwan??or pokhara?? these are very small airports... Airport matters a lot in tourism..

I fail to see why much hyped Lumbini airport won’t be better than Nijgadh airport. We and our future generation will need more trees to sustain life. Development is important but environment comes first. Having known Nepali government for decades, I won't be surprised if all jungle disappear and there will be no airport in sight. Real loss will be Jungle, the biodiversity and people living around it.

Plantation and afforestation works should begin right away and development work should not be halted at all. If 4 lakhs trees are to be cut down then atleast 12 lakhs trees are to be planted!!
It is impossible to replace hundreds of years old trees, and it is not only trees but also bushes. And what will they tell to tigers and birds, monkeys until the trees grow up? Wait somewhere until you get a new jungle? Ridiculous!
It is one of the major project of nepal .It should be constructed anyhow to decrease india presence and increase the presence of china and other countries ...The people there should get better allowance ...The trees should be planted in near by areas....We want this airport .

Not really, the only problem here is corruption. Right people can have it done. Take a look at Ethiopia as an example, they are still considered the 7th poorest country in the world but their flag carrier airlines is the Emirates of Africa and the airlines has planned to construct a major hub in Addis Ababa as well. Sadly, it's the government that will construct this airport here in Nepal and we already know our government so yeah. It's not economically impossible because, we have ADB to fund the project as well. But whenever there is a development project started, it's like a spoon of honey just spilled on the floor for ants, they eventually become the sources of income for all of these corrupted government officials and the contractors that get the works given.
Nijgadh International airport must be built, first of all the Tangiya Basti must be resettled in another safe and appropriate place and according to the working area trees should remove scientific way not to hamper the environment. It's the most needed glorious project of Nepal which counters firstly india and Nepal will be the hub of the south Asian countries, easy aviation and development of tourism etc...... Since deforestation occurs and cultivation land will be occupied it does not look better .I would say we need to focus more on area where there are less fertile lands in Terai Region.

Thousands of farmers who commit suicide, thousands of workers in Gulf who die from overwork, they can be saved. This project has to go forward

Is that needed? They said it will be for the next 30 years. Let's take a step back and accept it. The environmental impact of the airport being made in the nijgadh area is way greater than in other areas. In case you didn't know, there are also alternatives to where the airport can be made but they are not using them. Also, the centuries old trees in the nijgadh forest under this project are worth over 500 arab. Why so admant on using this place?

This airport will be the iconic in itself... we can plant more trees in barren hills that are cut in nijgad.. Tree covers around 44 % in Nepal... The government have to made this project.. This project will bring positive change in the local economy as well as national.. we have to pressurize government to cut less trees as much as possible and plant more in barren land but this project has to be made
and another part this project is so large it will easily take 10 years to be operational in the Nepalese context. yes we already have 3 intl airport going on that are between avg 30 min. and now this new airport is also around same 30 min gap area .. which totally makes no sense. operating other two with better efficiency and developing other domestic airports and road networks will be more than enough for increasing any amount of tourism with a context of our country ! from user point of view there is always some give and take between user and airport. (सबै को लागि १ घण्टाको दुरी मा बिमानस्थल सम्भब छैन ! ) if at any cost new airport will make sense it must be made at far-western or mid-western development region. which will actually make little difference to the user and tourism (if worked enough in promotion of western Nepal) .

The airport shouldn't be build because it cause heavy deforestation of Sal forest. In addition to this the animal, plants and birds of parsa national park in future. So that's why nijgadh airport is not a nature friendly development

Instead of Nijgadh, what about other alternatives like lumbini intl airport. Meanwhile, we need more domestic and international airports that can serve Nepalese citizens directly, rather than transit airports.
Lumbini is not alternative for TIA do you know how many hours a plane need to hold in sky for landing in TIA it's so risky and in nearly 10 yrs TIA can't handle air traffic anymore and for your information Pokhara airport is like domestic airport we can only land single body aeroplane because of 2400m runway and lumbini is very far from ktm so nijgadh is best for alternative of TIA because it's close to fast track and it take only 1hour to come ktm and do you know if nijgadh become transit hub then we can earn millions or billions of dollar
