I'm not really understand about vtuber business, but at this point isn't it better to just bein solo, build the fanbase and hire a manager when you're stable enough? The fun things about vtuber for me is their collab, as long as they can collab with other streamer isn't good enough?

It’s easy to be lost in a crowd if you don’t have the right publicity. Being in a corp. has already made connections lining up without the trouble of finding like minded streamers on Twitter. Think Hololive when a new gen is introduced. Previous gens would hype up the newer gens and the fans of older gens would find interest in newer gens. Also, if you haven’t heard. Selen/Doki had to pay $15,000 out of pocket to create her latest cover(before it got taken down by kurosanji). Usually, the corp takes care of finances, finding animators/musicians, etc. Indies rarely have that sort of money for music video.

Heres an example. There is a member in hololive re_gloss named Ao. She was an indie vtuber for a couple years with about a few thousands subs before she graduated last year. Re_gloss debuted 3-4 months ago and that same person now has 300,000 subscribers. Of course it took a lot of effort to be accepted in hololive but besides that, she isn’t any different as she was indie. Corp. has plenty of benefits as well as cons.

Can't fully trust that even. We don't know what their contracts say and you do not want to be held in violation of your contract. Being terminated is one thing, violating a contract has legal penalties.

At most they can argument failing to comply and cease the contract, a different case would be if they go rogue and speak badly of the company, that is a whole different situation there with potential legal consequences.

Nijisanji makes a lot of promises they dont fulfill such as money to artists things like that i'm worried they also lied to these girls about future plans like projects for sample maybe gave them a little extra money to stay but its not going to be worth it in the long run.. once the talents start making good money Niji might slowly make them pay for things saying "Oh, you'll make the money back dont worry about it"

Yeah. I don't know the situation behind the others but they have unfortunately sunk their reputation by tying themselves to Niji. Might tide them over for now if Niji keeps them around and uses their contract for merch profits but they've killed their PR with the community at large and if anyone knows their future IDs, they will carry that black mark on them even if they try to resurface somewhere else.

Also the livers are treated like contractors/freelancers which makes non competes even harder to work with should they exist. And unless Dokibird is actively being sued right now she didn't have (an enforceable one) as Selen. Its also worth noting that japanese courts have generally taken the view that it applies largely to insider information, identical positions, higher level positions (administratively higher), and the level of compensation. Most court enforceable non competes in japan are tied to well paid executives operating in the same area, not freelancers who have to provide their own funding.

Elira is a victim in all of this. She IS being held hostage in Japan. She's also a foreigner, and Japan doesn't like foreigners when it comes to living to immigration!

The situation is a bit muddier, IMO. AFAIK, those documents were about the workplace harassment thing, but Elira said that they contained info about her, Enna, and Millie. Why would their info be in those docs? Were they witnesses, or the perpetrators? There is not enough info for a final conclusion. But the visa thing DOES point to the possibility of her being coerced.

I didn't like her because she thought childishly. Moreover, she herself once said that she loves it when she can feel like a child. Infantilism. And when you are a “child” it means “adults” think for you... and make decisions for you. Perhaps this incident of “going with the flow” will make her more mature... and she will understand that she needs to be able to take responsibility. Also, don’t forget that children are the cruelest people.

The stream lasts unt a mod jumps in and says either a Niji liver or the official channel posts or lives something, and then the stream closes and everyone raids kuro and puppets, fun is had by some, inconsequential financial impact is had by others, and the reporters can make smores from all the flaming that will ensue.

If I were even more cynical, I'd think that management could have pushed their talents to publish something that would alienate their audience so if they want to leave the company and try to start independent like doki (I don't know if they have any "previous life") it will be a LOT harder as they will have a lot of people against them. It would also serve to diverge attention from the CEO announcement... BTW, no, I'm not saying that happened nor defending anyone.

I'm surprised more people aren't saying this. Being a nijisanji member who takes a position against Selen right now is putting a black mark against your future prospects by your own hand. Unless you intend to quit streaming completely after leaving nijisanji, then taking their side is a poor career choice.

I'd say that stating who the bullies are is grounds for a defamation suit, hence why, at least in her situation, I wouldn't name them.

​@@Qriox You aren't wrong. Apparently Japanese defamation laws are so strict that even factual statements will see you in legal trouble for harming their "character" and impugning their "honour"..

@@shadowwolf2608 🤔 How to put this. Say you were vacationing in Japan, had an accident and had to undergo dental work. They messed up and you had to have it redone in your country of residence. Leaving a negative review about that clinic would constitute defamatory statements in Japan. Despite your statements being factual. This was raised in a vid by another chap. So expect an edit. Look for ConnerClips He himself is very oblique about this mess, but the folks in the comments provide a lot of info as to why he's being so wooly, including giving examples of actual court cases. 🤷‍♂️ Different countries, different rules.
