Both Ryan and Airball are very strange stories. Ryan went from a $2-5 player at the Bike in the late 2010s.... to running a big game at Hustler and losing $millions? All in the span of a few years. And Airball just seems to lose $millions endlessly with a seemingly unlimited bankroll. Seems.....odd to say the least.

@@dismalrealms3587"Probably" doesn't cut it. And if what you're saying were the case that would have been called out by other high stakes players and mentioned a lot more frequently. You need sources for accusations like this. You're right about one thing though, some players do get "insurances". Like, I wouldn't be surprised if people like Nik Airball will get 20% back if he loses so and so much or a bit of his stack covered prior to playing by the stream/venue since it brings in money and viewers (the money at play is still real tho). This is no secret that happens occasionally, and that high value players (either for content or views) get advantages others don't. But that they'd trick viewers with the amount they're playing for? Nah, I don't think so since the fallout could be rather huge in a pretty niche market of viewers and subs. It doesn't make sense from a business standpoint.

The problem is hand selection. You have to call there with the third nuts, but you will never be in that situation if you folded the Q9o. I mean, you’re losing to any flush, plus any KQ. And most of the time no straight comes and you lose to any A. Just ridiculous.

I mean it’s a house game. Like we’re getting to watch a bunch of people that play regularly together. We get some amazing chemistry because of it but also part of it is they’re gonna get up and walk around. Ultimately that’s a lot of money sitting at the table.

Just like Doug plays on HCL streams, HCL guys also play on Lodge streams. They’re just supporting each other’s stream and also playing with a different set of players
