I really respect that you have gone and admitted the issues with the shoe. Very few people, especially those are a fan of the brand, have addressed these problems. I think they’re a sick looking shoe but I wouldn’t pay retail, let alone resell for them.
Just bought a pair of triple black fog 1’s. I’ve been wearing the shit out of them. I feel like since we pay a lot for these then they should be worn to the ground. My zipper already broke though lol kinda sad about it.
The way I get my black pair off (haven’t even worn my light bone pair yet) 1: loosen the laces at the eyelets on the TPU cage and make sure the upper part of the shoe is loose on my foot 2: undo the zipper 3: slide my heel up & out on the ankle support in the back 4: kind of a constant for steps 1-3: pray the zippers don’t break and I don’t crease the toebox suede too much 😂 By me the weathers been all snow lately so I haven’t gotten an opportunity to wear my Light Bone pair out yet. I also wear my black pair with the long white laces looped inside the top pull tab like some of Nike’s stock pics for the light bones.
My gripe with Jerry is he practically gave away most stock to his celebrity friends that can easily afford to pay resale just as publicity for the most part
I cannot wait until the winter is over to start wearing my SA’s more frequently. Everything you said was spot on, I don’t have a huge problem getting the SA’s off, but always have a hard time getting them on, and worry about busting the zipper. Great vid!
Great Review!! I actually agreed with EVERYTHING you said!! To me, the air fog 1s are like a finger trap. The harder you pull, the more they stay on. You literally have to calm your entire self down. Take a deep breathe, and as you exhale, pull em off slowly while gently wiggling your foot. Works everytime. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I have to agree these are the most comfortable trainers I’ve ever worn... and I’m a heavy dude!! The problems with these all surround the zip! It’s a weird location and difficult to put on. Then the zip itself is so square it’s uncomfortable to pull. But that’s it. The Shoot around u have are easily my favorites in black and bone, and they turn heads of sneaker heads and non sneaker heads alike.
I really like this silhouette a lot. I had zero luck getting my hands on a pair even with the help of several friends but I am not big on paying resale prices. It seemed like he was giving these away left and right to all sorts of people but they were basically near impossible to get for the average consumer.
Thanks for giving us both sides of the story, most sneaker channels just hype the shoe to no end and don't tell us the important things like going a half size under, material longevity, etc.
WOW!!!! absolutely brilliant review. just loved your honesty and thorough walk thru. I admittedly share most of your sentiments/opinions also, apart from lowering of zip line... I personally feel that just as with the OG 750, the high front portion (where a traditional tongue would be) should be sacrificed. ( notice the curviture in your grey/gum in comparison to the og light brown) this would keep the midsole form, but lose the pull tab. How you feel regarding this bro? Oh, also... with my pair i always make sure to be easing the rear tongue out of the opening when removing from foot.... if that makes sense? I get to the point of resistance then pull the tongue thru zipper...viola!
I got the bones for retail and sold them after wearing a few times. Can't justify having a shoe worth that much if I'm going to be afraid to wear them and bust the zipper. You hit it on the head with "protecting your investment".
I really hate the mentality of having “no compromises to the design”... I bet they could have made them so much better by just waiting a bit more to think about the design flaws...

I just don't agree. They might be comfortable, they might look good. But if they are not practical why would you buy them? Honestly getting these shoes off might have been harder than buying these shoes for retail.
Locust&WildHoney I mean from a design perspective I like the shoes, but from a more pragmatical view not. Imo this can’t be a shoe of the year if the fit ain’t right. Nice video though!

I was waiting for the shoe for ages..... got my pair....... went a half size down (after watching youtube videos) I couldn't WAIT for the shoe to come.... After seeing the pics, and the Complex interview, I was going to do anything to get my hands on the shoe. FUCK ME MAN!!!!!!! getting the fucking thing on is hard enough..... but taking it off?????? My wife has had to help me multiple times! I only have the black pair.... but still want the 'Bone'. I'm a UK8, and I can feel the toe box room..... but the tightness is crazy! What do I do when I locate the 'Bone' pair man? ..... and again, FairPlay for addressing this! Your videos are tight! Big up from the UK my friend!
i honestly don't know how you can have the courage to wear this shoe so rapidly for a month. I have both pairs and I've only wear these once and i am enough of how hard to pull these off. I feel like everytime i try to take these off makes me feel like i am going to break the shoes
Are the moccasins the same way ? Considering copping since their 500$+ cheaper than the air ones ha ha but pls lemme know if those are built from the base the same way In both the raid and the moccasins. God bless nice vid
Yo this might be old news to you now, but I found that the tongue on the back of the shoe releases pressure when it is pulled up. I take my air FOG’s off easily now. Before I found that, it was nearly impossible to get them off. I’m not sure if that’s what it was designed for, but i Hope that helps!
Regardless I love the FOG 1s and they’re way out of my comfort zone but I LOVE the look of the shoe and I just wish I could pull them off better. Maybe it’s just me but I figured out a way to take them off with no effort

i agree with what you were saying about how not everyone who wanted one in the community was able to get them..makes me kinda salty that people stay with a brand but cant get an item they want just because its hyped, so they lose it to someone who just wants it because its hyped and doesnt care about the actual brand.
I just got these pair and I went half size down and boy was it a mistake. Lol don't get me wrong, I love the aesthetic of this shoe but how it's put on and off your feet would be a struggle even if you got TTS. But if you go half size up, you'll have a big room for you toe. I mean REALLY BIG ROOM.

Definitely subjective, but to me it is the best looking shoe I've seen in a long time. Maybe I'm just sick of seeing AJ1s at this point but for an entirely new silhouette, they're beautiful.
question - how do you clean the toe box on the light bone colorway? it's leather correct? I tried taking off a smudge but it only made it worse - any tips?
from my experience, I went half size down and they’re very difficult. I suggest half size down regardless cause there’s a lot of room in the toe area still
Don't understand the hype behind these shoes. I, personally, think these shoes are ugly as fuck and would never rock them. Just my opinion though, no disrespect.
