Bought a pair in Atmosphere Grey /Hot Punch size 13, the same size I wear in Nike shoes for all sports. I have wide feet in the front & these fit tight laterally but I like it for golf shoes. Been to the range, played a full round in cold conditions and 5 sessions of chipping practice in the backyard 1/2 the time in wet conditions. No leaks. Great shoe no heel slip & drive it >300 yards on occasion.
I thought from a pure performance standpoint, these shoes are better than my Infinity Tours. And I love those shoes. What’s really impressive is the exceptional traction/grip on the sole. For a spikeless shoe I was surprised with their wet grass gripping power. Additionally, being a mid-cut shoe the stability was great for me. The major reason I prefer an Infinity Tour over the 270 G is the out of this world cushioning from the zoom and react foam. I could walk or practice for hours in those shoes.
Thanks for watching Perry. Yeah I was really impressed with these shoes too. If I had to choose, I think I'd go with these over the Infinity Tour, as the 270G is 100% waterproof whereas the Infinity Tour isn't, and I just can't get on with the lack of stability in the Infinity Tour - they feel like I could roll my ankle at any minute. I know that's just how I get on with the shoes and loads of people love them. They are crazy soft for sure, so long as you get the right size for your feet. I think I'm going to sell mine!
Golf Guy Reviews I purchased a 12.5 originally in the Infinity Tours, but felt wobbly and tight in the forefoot. I returned that pair and purchased 12.5 wide. Perfect now. But...I have NEVER in my 42 years ever had to wear a wide version of any shoe. Not sure why Nike made these shoes so narrow. I agree, the waterproofing on the 270 G is stellar and surprising. The shoes clean up very well...with the BIG exception of the fabric on the tongue. Which your video points out.
Glad they’ve worked out for you in the end with the wide. So strange from Nike, they never said anything, and just quietly released a wide version. Great stuff with the 270G though
Thanks John! Yeah I wouldn't say you need to size up, unless you have wider feet...but then you might have an issue with slipping at the heel, so I think it's just these shoes aren't really for people with wider feet.
Nice review 👍 I picked up a pair in the white/black/volt colour way and they are the sexiest golf shoe I think I’ve ever laid eyes on. Fit is tight and they are hard to get on but my feet feel locked in. Can’t wait to spend summer on the course in them!
Thanks for watching. I’d say the 90’s will clean up better. The upper on these have a tendency to discolour over time, and the tongue and midsole is tougher to keep clean too. Which is a shame as these are way more comfortable 🤣🤦♂️
The main part of the upper cleaned up pretty well for me given the waterproof coating they have - they did attract a lot of dirt too, but a quick wash got them looking good again. However the rear of the tongue did get pretty dirty as I wear mine with low or hidden socks, so the combination of dirt and sweat got them pretty nasty pretty quick, but again nothing some warm soapy water didn't fix. I hope this helped - don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already :)
The main difference is the sole. The rubber grip on the golf version is a lot more aggressive and a harder rubber than the trainer version with have a grippier and flatter rubber base. Also, the upper has got a coating to make it waterproof, so the golf version aren't as breathable as the normal versions. However, in terms of fit and feel, they're pretty much the same.
Hi Amir, thanks for watching. In short, no would not go running in these. I suppose you could if your really wanted to, but I wouldn’t recommend it, they’re heavy, not breathable and the outsole will not give you much grip out running. You can buy specific running training suited to your specific needs for the same price. Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already
Great review but I wear a 10.5 Nike show and these could not get my feet in. I have a wide foot but I am not overweight and I sent them back and got a larger size and STILL could not get my foot in. The upper construction gives no leverage to get you foot in
Sorry Eugene, I don't think I've see any re-stocks of this colourway. But there's new NRG versions being released quite regularly, with a new colour launching just last week here in the UK.
Thanks for watching Chris. The Adidas CodeChaos would be my first thought in that price range, will be a little more breathable and lighter too. I think the Ecco cool will be a little out of budget and I’ve not tried them yet either. The Mizuno wave cadence are also a Very good underrated shoe too if you’re not keen on the CodeChaos looks. Also the Nike Air Max 1 G Mesh are a cracking summer shoe due to the mesh upper, but get very dirty very quick in the lighter colours, and aren’t waterproof at all. I hope that helps. @@GolfGuyReviews Thanks for the detailed reply, yes I had been looking at the CodeChaos, and by all accounts they seem to be the best around. Subscribed (y)
Bought these shoes on the back of your vid - however, do you hear air coming from the bubbles when you walk? Not sure if it is part of the design or if mine are faulty.
Hi Richard, I can’t say I do, sounds like it could be a fault Richard. Strange as I’ve had a popped air unit before with other shoes, but I really noticed the difference. Hopefully you get them sorted and enjoy the shoes 👍
Is it okay if I will buy them only for active street walk? I’ve got an original 270, but they are in very bad view, but in Ukraine I can’t find other 270, I founded only 270 G
Yes I think you would be ok using these for everyday use. The outsole does have an aggressive traction pattern as you can see in the video, so the shoe will feel a bit stiffer and heavy than the regular trainer version. Also the grip won’t be as good on slippery surfaces as the rubber is firmer and there’s less in contact with the ground
@golf guy reviews these or codechaos SL shoes? I can't decide please help me tip the scales, I have a narrow foot so all good there, a breathable shoe sounds nice also but might not think that if they got wet, cheers.
Thanks for watching Django! That's a tough one, I can't tell you what you should do, but I'll tell you what I would do if I were asked these questions.... If they had to fully waterproof - Air Max If they have to feel closer to the ground (and more stable) - Codechaos If I want to wear them on AND off the course - Air Max Which do I prefer the look of for golf - Codechaos Which are more breathable for summer - Codechaos Maybe rank those questions in order of importance, and see how you answer. I hope that helps :)
@@GolfGuyReviews hmm thanks for the help, I was after breathable shoes but never had to deal with wet shoes either, are the air max 270's really bad as a beathable shoe? i have a hot summer in australia coming up! thanks.
@@joelcaelli1709 No worries...I wouldn't say they are really bad, as they are still a mesh upper, but have a thin coating over them that feels almost rubber like... They're not as bad as the first versions of the Air Max 1G which were an artificial leather upper than just felt like plastic and had no breathability what so ever. Honestly, if you're not worried about the waterproof so much, I'd probably go codechaos as the tongue is more breathable than the Air Max 270G tongue....but there's not loads in it. In a hot Oz summer day you're feet are going to be warm in both! Have you checked out my 'best summer golf shoes' for 2020 video?
@@GolfGuyReviews yeah i've checked that vid out, got my mind set on one of these two shoes though I noticed the codechaos was on that vid, my current shoes are the adidas 360 tours but I need to replace them due to the leather causing blisters on my heels, one last question for you mate have you had any blister issues out of the Nikes and the codechaos shoes or do you have an idea which might be nicer on the heel to avoid this even a educated guess will help, thanks. side note have you heard of any other new shoes coming soon?
@@joelcaelli1709 No blister issues with either, both are comfortable straight out the box. I suffered with the heel of the Tour 360 XT too. They have just released an updated version of the 360 XT, which is the 2.0 and comes in either a leather or knit upper which might be worth checking out....but I haven't had the chance to review yet and probably won't for a month or two yet... www.adidas.co.uk/tour360-xt-sl-spikeless-textile-golf-shoes/EG4875.html
I bought these for golf in 2020 but just realized that these are AMAZING winter shoes. The waterproof upper, extra grip and slip on design make these heavily useful in Ohio winters. I have even done a few outdoor runs with them.
Awesome stuff! You’re making me want to buy another pair you reviewed haha really love these videos and I’m enjoying golf shoes more and more these days because of reviews like yours and the style some shoes are experimenting with! Bought the ADIDAS codechaos Boa’s because your review gave me the information i was looking for. Appreciate you and your work!
Thanks Michael, really appreciate the feedback 👍 the CodeChaos are a great shoe for sure. Got tons more planned for the channel, and a few more giveaways too very soon!!
Yeah you can do, but they might not give great grip on slippery indoor surfaces as the outsole is quite thick and designed for use on the golf course primarily. I hope that helps. Don't forget to subscribe 👍
Don’t get these shoes they push your feet forward; at least for me and i noticed at the range that I was pulling a lot more and hitting bad shots in general. I believe this was because my weight was on my toes. Maybe I’m crazy but I used my old shoes and I was back to striking the ball consistently. The heel in my opinion is way to aggressive for a golf shoe and I returned these and will be going with a different brand. Nike golf has gone down hill.
