I have the Jordan golf shoes. I had same experience. Early morning wet tee times equal no Bueno for any non spiked golf shoes in my opinion. I always check the weather before leaving and plan to wear spiked vs spikeless.

I actually have a pair that I wore all fall and winter in Maryland and played a few rounds down in Florida with them.. had no issues with slipping..played in light rain, post rain, and morning dew conditions... Felt the traction was really good... Not spikes good, but just as good if but better than my other spikeless shoes

Love the videos. Living in humid Houston, I’ve never had a problem in the mornings when the course is wet or after a rain. Actually, shoe did so well, I bought another pair. Great shoe. Fantastic waterproofing, as well.

You’re using spikeless golf shoes on wet ground...what do you expect? Early mornings or wet grass need spikes. Come on man..... Shoe is great for dry conditions. Majority of spikeless are like this.

Slipped several times in these. Great when dry but slip n slide in wet conditions. And definitely agree with assessment. Love the look of these, but nervous when ground is wet and I have them on.

Nice video, though I have an unrelated question, why do I seem to slip back into terrible swings even if I know what I'm supposed to be doing? My main problem is I keep extending my back out during my downswing and I seem to have forgotten how to hit my driver, makes me look atrocious for a 10.1 handicap.

Good info to know. Most of my rounds are in the mornings with temps through the season from 40F to 80F and dew on the ground in spring and fall.

I have those and footjoy flex . Both are spikeless and can safely tell you that they are not effective for early golf rounds. However they are very comfortable when walking a round. I use soft spikes shoes when ridding a cart and spikeless when walking a round. Yes the first few holes will be slippery but I find that drying off or stomping the shoes on the cart path to shake off as much water as possible, will recover some traction for the tee box.

One of my favorite courses is very hilly and I like to play in the morning, usually. Plus I live in Nashville and we just get a ton of rain here anyway. The Footjoy Pro/SL and the the Superlites are the only "spikeless" shoe that I've tried that can handle it. I have "spikeless" in quotes because the Pro/Sl and the Superlite really do have spikes for all intents and purposes, they're just shaped differently than soft spikes and they're permanent. I know tons of folks wear spikeless and have no issues,. But I look at the sole of that Nike (and most other spikeless shoes) and I think, "Nope. That's not gonna cut it. That's a running shoe."

You have described most spike less shoes in general though, not necessarily a Nike problem. I only wear my spike less in the afternoon summer or after work rounds.

I picked up a pair about a month ago-- absolutely love them. I haven't had a slipping problem with them yet. I did own a pair of Rosche G that slipped way more than I'd like. I've seen the Air Max 90 G on tour (Jason Day) and it doesn't appear to impact him.

I have the same shoes. Look amazing. Very comfortable and stick like glue in my simulator bay lol I haven't been outside yet. As it's snowing right now in Southern Oregon.

I’ve owned Puma spikeless for almost two years and they haven’t slipped for me yet. Rain or shine. I do want spiked shoes one day but these ones have worked so well that I haven’t needed spiked shoes yet.

I have Puma ignite spineless with the round bubble-like sole. No good on wet grass, I slipped twice on a wet hill just walking up it. New Balance spineless very aggressive.

I have the air max 97G and just like the 270G it’s ridiculously comfortable which is brilliant but i will only wear them if the grass is absolutely bone dry because like this video points out, your back foot does sometimes slip if there’s moisture/due on the grass

This is why I still wear the plastic spikes in my golf shoes. I find I slip with any spikeless golf shoe regardless of temp or wetness.

Was looking at this particular shoe nope not for me too many slips in the spikeless Roshe in wet conditions. I think maybe Trout Turf zoom will be a good consideration

Had a pair for 3 months wearing in uk winter conditions, no issue with slipping but the air bubble popped! Nike has offered a full refund tbf. Really comfy shoe for a narrower foot.

OK boys and girls..... Played with the 270Gs every week since August in NE England (Northumberland) and I have to say they are as good as spikes on grass however when you setup just make sure you are 'gripped' to the ground, any ripped up turf areas on the tee box is to be avoided but this is the case with spikes and cletes......and very durable!

Spikeless golf shoes are made primarily for dry conditions such as Arizona golf playing or just practice. Nothing can replace spikes when it comes to moist conditions.

Thanks for sharing the truth about the undercarriage of golf shoes. My FootJoys White bend at the top of the big toe on my left foot and have caused a small painful spot at the knuckle. Maybe after a couple of years it will entirely soften on top as I move through my downswing. I use a bandaid and white tape to avoid the irritation. It’s not easy to get goose droppings off the plastic spikes.

Not all golf shoes are geared towards performance - Nike always has higher performance models (similar for each sport they produce footwear in), and then they have style-focused models like this one. Doesn't make it a bad shoe, just understand what the goal is for each model.

Great review…They are nice shoes. I have the sneakers and the golf shoe…I don’t play much in wet weather, so not an issue (I’m not a dew sweeper anymore; I leave that to the young’ns). They are a bit tougher to get on your feet than other shoes I own…not quite as comfy as my Eccos, but they give me a nice change of shoe every once in a while…

I bought Athalonz based largely on MSG's review and discount code. They're fantastic, and I now have a second pair as well. Nike sells enough shoes already. They don't need your money.

I have yet to find a spikeless shoe I will wear here in Northeast Ohio. always some dew in the a.m., and the courses I play, they slip in the rough. Soft spikes all the way! I have had my footjoys for years, change the spike once or twice a season and all is good.

The bubble on both my white and black pair popped and the midsole began to separate after about a year. Thankfully, I purchased directly from Nike so they warranty the shoes up to two years. Nike gave me a full refund but I've moved on to Nike Infinity Tours.

Bummer really wanted to try a pair of these out I do applaud Nike for thinking outside the box they’ve come up with a lot of interesting golf outsoles over the years especially in spikeless but they really never should have messed with the original air max 90 It outsole my air max one mesh and leather snakeskin both have the fully treaded original which I slipped a lot less with the older iteration compared to the new air max 90’s and these which looks better but also like this just doesn’t perform as well Nike always kills it aesthetically but I wish they would just give us some air maxes that aren’t spikeless and useless after 1 season decided to give brooks infinity tours a shot with Nike having them marked half off they are crazy looking in person and very comfortable with that dual zoom air footbed the outsole is equally as interesting looking haven’t got them on the course yet but like other spikeless shoes I don’t think I’ll have to worry about traction with these. I guess I should thank you for saving me $80 by getting the flyknit stunners 🤣

Nike has always given me problems, specifically the insole. I replace them with some dr scholls and they’re so much better. The problems you bring up are consistent with player who are used to playing with spikes. Air max shoes are toe forward, like a hockey skate. The insole lift helps the balance of foot pressure. Try a thicker insole.

I like this video and I need a good pair of golfing shoes that don't slip but are light weight. so hurry and tell us what you find that works. The one's my wife gets me from walmart last about a month maybe two. golf really wears shoes out fast so need some that are durable.

Ah jeez. I was so ready to buy these shoes. Card in hand, laptop open n everything. That is until you mentioned about the slipping. If you've seen George Bryan hit a drive, he games these shoes and he ALWAYS slips. Like, without fail, his right foot will slip. Anyways, thanks for making the decision for me ✌️

I had mine bought 3 months ago. I used it for couple of rounds. I don’t have issue in the slip. But after few rounds, the air bubble bursts. So every time i walk, it’s like my heel is going down. What a waste of money.

My dad was a scratch golfer and once in Florida on the fairways he slipped in either a gofer hole or just a slippery spot. A muscle in his right quad detached and balled up. He never got it fixed. America is the place of fast talkers who are always looking to sell you something. Like the 1990’s dot com world of internet sites.

I've been using mine for about 10 rounds so far. Last 4 rounds have not been good, my feet are getting tired, my heel feels tired... I have been using the Nike Pegasus 37 and 38s for about 2 years and have no issues with them. I love Nike, but these golfshoes giving me abrasions on the sides...

i have this shoe and the left heel air bubble was broken this week. To be honest, i don't feel it is quite strong balance after follow through the swing. just too soft on the heel side. I should say it is a good looking golf shoe, but definately won't consider the second pair.

Nike may put a lot of research and tech into running, but put zero effort in their golf shoes. It's mainly just for show. You really have to watch out for Jordan retros, Air Max 270, 97, 90, Roshe and any other regular shoe they have converted to a golf shoe. Even their actual golf shoes in the Infinity Tour and Infinity Pro are models that pros don't even want to wear. For the big brand shoe companies, I like what adidas is doing. The CodeChaos spikeless tread pattern is very grippy. Also I really like their ZG21 golf shoe. But a big problem with them is the soles tend to crack easily. Same with Nike, as I see lots of people complaining about the Air Max 90 golf shoe sole separating. But ultimately I guess we are living in a disposable world and they want you to buy new golf shoes at least once a season.

Slight connected, how come golf at the highest level, can ignore/allow etc baseball caps, hoodies, trainers even now, but won’t allow Taylored shorts other than practice, years ago who would have ever thought a baseball cap and s Collarless tshirt would be acceptable in golf, I’ve played at real traditional courses with the strictest committees and yet now trainers baseball caps etc are allowed, love the ability to feel more comfortable on the course. 🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I will never - ever - wear Spikeless shoes from any brand. The reason? I mostly play early morning when it can be damp underfoot if sprinklers have been used overnight. Plus my Adidas spike shoes are really comfortable, so I don’t have that urge to wear softer, more comfortable shoes

Exactly. Spikeless shoes are fine for dry conditions. But you need spikes for wet dewy grass. Didn’t think that wasn’t common knowledge

Buy the regular Nike 270’s they have the grips you’re looking for. It should also be said, these soles are not soft and are no good for running.

Maybe you should try a pair of Sqairz golf shoes... our good friend Sir Nick Faldo said they are the world’s best golf shoe...he wears them every week in the announcers booth to help him get the traction he needs to sit at the edge of his chair and trash talk the current pros that are way better than he ever was 😂 😂.

"Golf Sucks" shirt? What's up with that? I like any shoe that uses the BOA lacing system. It uses a button to tighten and loosen. You can tighten or loosen while playing without having to tie and untie the shoe. Never tie laces again.
