You can run in them. I asked a Nike rep and he said you can run it or walk. Even says in the details made for runners.

Coat them good with Crep stain blocker, then wipe with a damp cloth. If you do get something on them. wrap the shoe with toilet paper, spray with water, and leave for a few hours. The TP will draw it out of the fabric.
