race day shoes degrade more quickly than daily trainers. daily trainers are designed for medium/slower paced runs and are focused on comfort/recovery and longevity. ur not gonna be doing a marathon every other day
The alphafly shoes are really good for road long distance running. I wouldn’t really recommend doing track intervalls with them, because they’re really soft and aren’t made for high speeds. If you are more a middle distance person (5k-10k), than i’d recommend the nike vaporfly’s insead. If you are looking to run half or full marathons than the alphaflyes are perfect.
I have alpha flys version 1. They’re fine for intervals on or off track. Realistically, if you’re doing 5 x 1000s on track, even with flats / spikes, what speed are you getting up to? 3min per km? Well on the road Kipchoge is doing 2.45 per km in them. I’d say they’re absolutely fine for track intervals.
Lower body strength training such as squatting helps prevent ankle sprains. The shoes you wear have little to do with it. Research Steph Curry’s early career ankle sprain history and the training he did to solve this problem
I would love to afford these! It’s either this or food for the month though 😂 Edit: I got them and they're overrated. They are better for thinner feet, the carbon plate feels a little awkward. They're very good looking shoes so ill just wear them as fashion.
As a Nike employee I will say this shoe won’t last long due to the ZoomX. For the price point unless you are really willing to spend that much for a show I would trade it for the streakfly
Best running shoe imo is hoka bondi 7 or 8. I have both. Trust me it’s a night n day difference from ANY Nike or Adidas runners. I own many shoes and the bondi series is hands down the most comfortable shoe I ever worn.
@@yaileenmaldonadomendez6382 like durability wise? I’m not sure I only had them for a few weeks. But so far they hold up really good & they are super comfortable even on concrete. Way more comfort than any other shoe I wore (I have a lot of shoes). It’s honestly a huge difference comfort wise, especially for ppl w knee pain or plantar fasciitis pain.
@@Alex_2o9 Yeah, awesome! I just got the Nike zoom a few weeks ago and they're already no good jogging on concrete 😩 been looking for good shoes that last a long time and won't hurt me on concrete jogs.
@@yaileenmaldonadomendez6382 I have pegasus 37& 38 and hokas are definitely wayy more comfortable. Even adidas ut boosts feel like shit compared to hokas. I’d recommend hoka bondi for sure.
My Vibram five finger toe shoes are where it's at! They allow your foot to do what it was purposed to do and helps strengthen the leg muscles by not hindering with useless and false claims of "support".
@@kd_76 Prove to me that the foot's natural arch has better energy return on its own than with 1.5 inches of superfoam and a plate underneath it. Link one study.
hey, just wondering if you have any tips for someone wanting to run a half marathon or even a full marathon by the end of my sophomore school year? i run cross country right now but haven’t tried much further than that, any tips?
Depending on whether you have been doing XC in both your frosh and soph, and how tough the training is, you might already be able to run a half marathon
If you’re looking for the best of the best dragonfly’s, even though they’re track spikes, work really good xc. That’s for spikes. If you want a neutral shoe the vaporfly, much more stable and better for xc than the alpha fly imo
So this is the same @mattchoi. who said he was newer to running and didn’t understand he couldn’t run under someone else’s bib??? But four months ago giving shoe reviews like an expert??
Have them, they are a little faster than previous incarnation. But ... less comfortable and harder to put on. ... how do urn so fast without compression socks?????
