Nikes marketing is genius, they gave money for travis scott to buy a bunch of old sold out dunk collabs and now you have kids and resellers seeing hes wearing dunks and they want a pair. So no Nike puts out old colors that arent the same but people want them because people like travis are wearing them. And you have people like us who love dunks and want every color but cant buy them now...
so true i would scout outlets for jordans and only turn up dunks. even up until 2017 GR jordans used to sit...doubled up on my bred 13s in outlets...the disrepect smh

Man, I used to love SLAM and Kicks and would immediately go to the Kicks section in the back. I still remember the issue in 98 when they had the AJ 13 Playoffs that MJ wore in the 1998 All-Star Game and wanting those so bad. Flipping through that Kicks mag brought back so many memories!

It doesn't matter if you are 2 years late with a shoe review. If I think the shoe is dope then I'm clicking on the video. I just got these in yesterday from Goat and I love them. I went a half size down and they fit great. I also swapped out the yellow for black laces. I'm strongly considering the white laces as an option.

This channel is a gem. I watch a lot of sneaker reviews but you are hands down the best there is. Its not just about the shoes, I mean you tell the history of the shoes if this makes any sense( usually other sneaker video goes around the colour ways, quality of the material, so called “RESALE VALUE” and thats about it). I just got these for myself for Christmas, and was like "damn Chris didn't get these in...wanna know his thoughts!" Then bam this video popped up in my subscription box lol. Great vid! Love these kinds of videos where you guys give your opinions of the shoes now AND when you were back in school. Especially loved the magazine bit, because it reminded me of when I was in Highschool and my favorite teacher had a bunch of old Slam, Kicks, and EastBay magazines for us to flip though.

This channel is great it’s like taking the delorean str8 to 85 where the dunk was made ,grabbing the almanach with all the shoes on it with a k7 of the fresh prince of belair and doing a recap with laughts. Love it 👍
That was dope! I remember the first issue of Kicks, I might still have it along with my old issues of Sole Collector! I had the original dunks too, had the Iowa and Georgetown colorways. This video brought back great memories....Good times! I am an old sneakerhead, going back to the 70's with the Nike Blazer and the Bruin...When I was 14!.....This stuff makes me smile!
Born in 73. Back in 85 our schools Basketball Coach had 2 different posters in his office with the Nike Dunk High in 2 different color ways. This was one of them & they had a picture of the shoe. It said “Be True to Your School” on the poster Lol
You going through that magazine brought me back... with your commentary especially... never had the kicks magazine but I was the same way going through Eastbay the same way
the memories that come flooding back. the hours spent just staring at the pictures in issues of kicks and scoop's sole provider book. buying a pair of orlando penny 4s a size and a half too big just because i saw them in the p.e. section of kicks on court. those were the days.
What an awesome and nostalgic video! You made me remember my hs years too and to really want a proper retro of the Zoom Flight 98 with zoom air in the forefoot, I still have my white retros from a few years ago but it doesn't matter.

It’s nice seeing printed photo of the shoes. That’s where we’d get all the detail rather than tv/video back then. Even if you saw a close up of a shoe on video it would be brief so all the different sports and sportswear photographers played a huge part in getting this information out to fans and consumers.

Back 10ish years ago, I used to hoop in these. I busted through the outsole eventually through the midsole and there was I think an eva wedge in the cupsole w/o air. It was a dense piece of gray foam. A pair a year days.
I could watch a whole video just on that magazine!! I had the cheaper version of the Penny’s, without the Air Max... in Middle School. Once I made the basketball team in High School, I got my first Jordan’s. The He Got Game 13s. Thanks for letting me share! Lol 😆
I remember skating in the mid 2000’s & getting a monthly CCS skate catalog & all the time they would have Nike Sb dunk low & highs for SALE like all the time! Talking 39.99 type shit & the same ones are going for 500 & over today! Crazy how the shoe game works.

I don’t know why these are so fresh, because yellow and black is not an easy combination to wear outfits with, but for some reason I feel like you can wear these with almost anything. I got a pair from SNKRS and they are really good, super stoked to have a pair

Fucking love dunks, hate how I can't get a single pair now because of hype and resale 😭 I remember obsessing over dunks in middle and high school before they were hyped, but was too poor to buy any. Now that I got some money, I can't get my hands on a pair... Pretty much the same story with a lot of shoes nowadays
as far as to why dunks are so popular is due to travis scott and fashion playing a bigger part in todays media. The new wave right now is vintage which includes older shoes such as dunks and OG aj1s. travis scott had begun wearing dunks and due to his influence many people mainly the younger generation have become more interested into dunks. It also helps that nike has been pushing dunks a lot more within the past year.

christmas 2020 was complete when I got these. The leather is immaculate even tho there are some factory defects here and there like excess thread or glue but still a great shoe.
