Bro just watched this video, did you get the 10.5 size? How well do those fit? I normally run my Nikes 10.5 but most flyknits and metcons are small (they fit a little loose 10 is too small for me). Would you recommend going 11? Or stay with 10.5 (hoping that little gap helps) ? Thx bro!!
A simple fix for the heel slip is to backlace. I have the Romaleo 2s and some skinny ankles, after doing that I have no issues with the heel slipping. You can backlace by weaving the shoelace through the last lace hole. Hope this helps. Great review!
I been intrested in the romaleos for weight lifting. I actually found a pair at a discount store, but just assumed my size would fit. But they do run small. Im hope with some lifts, they'll break in. Thanka for the review!
Why Nike continues to make such narrow shoes designed for lifting is beyond me. I have the Metcons and I like them but the toe box needs to be wider. They are lifting shoes and your feet should be able to naturally spread.
i wear double ee and metcons are actually pretty decent, i usually have to size up on most nikes just for the width, i order 10.5 vs usually ordering 11
Definitely want these but I’m wary of Nike sizing after recent experiences with the Metcon 5 and Metcon Flyknit 3. Gonna keep using my Romaleos 2 for the time being and hope a Legacy Lifter 2 release isn’t so far away...
Michael Cabello yeah I’ll probably have the same issue, I’m using the R2’s and those a decently wide for me but I have some gigantic wide feet causing me to have to get size 14’s
Legacylifters are way more heavier . i dont know what kind of material Nike used on the tpu. but i hope the tpu wont break. it looks like plastic glass.
Can you guys help me? I have a narrow feet (3.5 inches / 88.9 mm) my usual Nike running shoe size is US 11 i'm considering on buying Nike romaleos 4 should I also get size US 11 as well or should I increase the size by US 11.5?
I really wanted to like these. I kinda hate the black contrast straps on the white, if they were white they would look sick. I hope they come out with some new colours soon. The black colour is ok, but doesnt look as good as the rom 2s in black
@@getstrongby4038 maybe its the way the flexweave looks or that the straps wrap around the whole shoe. Just looks off to me. That In mind the black and white rom 2s are my least favourite colour.
@@TheJeffislegend yes possibly I mean leather is always going to better. But I actually prefer these to the 2, the only thing I don't like is the oversized swoosh
@@Rdelrio19 the adipower 1s ? Arent they discontinued and u can only find them in like ebay and overpriced ?? I recently bought Legacy Lifters 2 by rebook. Heard great things about them
@@SuperDecible I don't know what kind but the ones I have are some red ones I think they are like a Japanese edition. I got the on discount I like them way better then the Nikes comfort wise. But the Nikes look wayyyyy cooler but they hurt my feet.
Awesome review Bro! Great insights and thought provoking ideas on these lifting shoes. Just got mine today. Nike didn't delay on the delivery too much. Ordered last Thursday and got em today (7 days later). Will give it a try tomorrow. Hated my R3's so much, ended up using the Leistung 2 the majority of the time. Looking forward to these R4's!
@@SuperDecible R4 feels more secure with the footing, the tongue is thankfully more substantial and thicker than R3, but personally I think the midfoot strap was lacking. If they made that strap with the same seat belt material as the R3, would've completed the shoe. But otherwise, it's held up for me. Lastly, the shoe material feels less plasticky than R3. 💪
@@GericOrias I'm looking for my first pair of lifting shoes since I'm starting to near the 315lb territory for back squats. Would you recommend the 4s? Ive also been thinking about Adipowers but idk
@@SuperDecible Honestly...I am a Nike fan 💯💯💯 and only paid that $200 because of that fact. There are probably other lifting shoes out there that are half that price and do just as well of a job. If you can justify that price, I think these are decent for their purpose. With that said, I reserve the R4 exclusively for when I do heavy squats and switch to Metcons for the other lifts. Hope that answer helped!
I would of definitely bought them but dam that huge Nike logo looks markered on & looks so cheap lol..Nike definitely killed it with the detail around the heel though..I’ll stick to my 2 pair of roms 3
Thanks for the quick impressions! How's the instep/arches compared to the regular Romaleo 3's? I have pretty flat feet but I could tolerate the instep of the 3's. Any higher this would be a pass for me.
slashnagy6 respectfully disagree here. Those high arches rub up to my narrow , flat feet. Most unpleasant of feelings. Metcons 2,3,4,5 have the exact support I need. The Romaleo’s are just too high.
They look clean. My 2008 Adipowers are still running strong, and I wear a 15, so I'll have to pass for a while. The new Adipowers are a joke, so I'll stick with the old faithful.
Thank you for the review. I bought TTS Size UK 8.. I'm inbetween 7.5 and 8 and was not sure if I needed to size up. I also have a narrow foot. It is tight but after 2 sessions and walking in it at home it already fits better
I must be one of the very few people who liked the original 3s. Haven't had any issues with it despite the flimsy tongue then again all I did were front & back squats.
Curious on sizing if you have a minute to help? I have the old Reebok CrossFit lifter plus 2.0 in size 7. I normally wear my nobull lifters in size 8. Should I go 7.5 or 8?
Great content... I sent my 3's back as the velcro on the strap had come apart. Solid shoe, but straps didn't last. Sent them back before my 1 year, and Nike gave me my full credit, and I applied to the new 4 AMP's.. They come in next week.. Thanks, and I'll keep you posted. In the mean time, I have my Legacy Lifter II WIT editions filling. :0)
@@johnjoshuadelacruz1939 yes I did. It’s been 4 days now. Yes, they did run a bit smaller, but for me it’s not excessive. I’m a 10 in the Romaleos 3 and it was to much movement, with the 4s I’m solid and they are comfortable no tightness in the toe box, just right. I feel solid and no heel slippage. Love these shoes. Excellent material. Lastly i always use Nike 3/4 socks that comes up to the ankle bone, which are not the low cut thin socks and I’m good.
@@johnjoshuadelacruz1939 i forgot to mention, i typically get wide shoes as I have wide feet, hence I’m a Nike Metcon user as well, but I learned with OLY shoes should come tight/snug.

Andres Herrera in the short time I’ve had them, I feel like the quality is much nicer in terms of build and materials. Fits tighter in the toebox but less of an arch.
They don’t run big for me. I have 11 in the 2s. My girlfriend surprised me with these and bought 11.5 bc that’s what my normal Nike’s are. They are a tiny bit big. But I love them.
thanks for the review man. How is the sizing of the 4's vs. the 2's? I've had my 2's for a couple years now and looking to get the 4's and was wondering how I should go with sizing. I'm a US9.5 in the 2's. Would you recommend going a US10 like you did?
Wondering as well, if I should get US8.5 or 9's (I got 8.5 running shoes, would be first pair of lifting shoes). Anyone know if they break in after a couple of uses?
Four questions bro. I still don't have a pair of romaleos....so.... 1) Whats the difference between romaleos 4 and romaleos SE? 2)Which one is better and cheaper? 3)Should I order my size or half a size larger? 4)Do you suggest me buy them or wait for the nike savaleos?
Great video thanks. Did they break in eventually? I'm looking to buy but can't get them locally in New Zealand. Would they be a similar fit to my metcons? Thanks
Stefano Magaddino scratch the slightly heavier part, I always wore my 2s with the soft insert in but measuring it with the firm one, they’re slightly heavier.
@@AMRAPJoel and Shaun, thanks for the additional feedback. I went ahead and ordered the 4's. Getting them tomorrow. But with the gyms closed, I guess I'll be the only one in the laundry room wearing powerlifting shoes !
Yo did the size 10 break in at all. I tried these shoes on at the dealership and they ran tight for 10.5 which is my normal weightlifting shoe they were sold out on the size 11 so I didn't take the chance and kept my money lol.
Agreed. The 3s / 3 XDs look a lot sleeker than the 4s. I have the original 3s which have the weak tongue but mine have held up so far. I would go for the cheaper 3 XDs over the 4s if I were looking for brand new Romaleos.
@@undercovermc looks? These are not for fashion. The difference is these look like Olympic lifting shoes whereas the 3 were a terrible attempt at using cheaper materials because most ceossfitters have no idea about proper lifting shoes
@@getstrongby4038 performance is the main purpose for shoes like this but style is still important to many. I can buy brand new 3 XDs directly from Nike at a discounted price where I live. I'd take them over the more expensive and uglier 4s. Do the 4s perform significantly better as weightlifting shoes over the 3 XDs?
@@undercovermc I mean, I can't say I've tried both of those shoes to make a fair comparison. However in my experice with the shoes I do have, the dedicated weightlifting shoes (adipowers) vs the ones they made to be a bit more "wod friendly" (crazy power) I found the tougher upper and increased stability to be far better on the adipowers. I can't say I'm not guilty of that though, I bought the crazy powers because they matched my t shirts 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the review, always checking your reviews before I buy. Hey can you tell me where you got your crash pads from as I’m destroying my flooring dropping the weights
You should go with half a size if you have very wide feet, or your normal nike size for normal feet. It'll feel tight the second way but itll break in over time. They do break in quite a bit.
I have metcon 7 shoes and they are us size 8 and yesterday i got my romaleos 4 shoes wich i buy on net and i do a lot research for theses shoes, i decided go to also that size 8 and these are so tight but i do believe they break in some point. I dont want that heel slip if i go up in size. Usually my problem is with shoes that in store they feel good but at the time they break in it feels like little bit large to me wich happens with my adidas adipower 2 shoes.
No, the placement is too low. It straps downward and not around the ankle. The collar around the ankle also resists tightening so the best solution I found was to put the top strap down on the laces and pull them through, then tie them. Looks funny but it’s the best solution.
@@AMRAP thanks for the reply brother, ordered these today so just wondering what the solution will be if I get slippage. Thanks for the tip! Subscribed 🙏
@@AMRAP Just to add to this I wear an 8.5 in the React Metcons and an 8.5 in the 4's turned out to be almost perfect. My foot width is a bit above average so I was initially worried that these would be too tight, and upon first putting them on they were pretty damn tight. But after a short break in period they loosened up just enough to be a perfect fit outside of the very minor heel slip.

@@johnjoshuadelacruz1939 Go with 11's. If your feet are relatively narrow I would definitely advise against sizing up as the narrow profile of the shoe shouldn't be an issue and going up a size would only magnify the heal slip issue.
