I agree with you 100%. Yes, I was a 9 year old kid back then, but everything felt so easy, so beautiful. Starting from football, excitment about seeing Ronaldo (even if it's on tv) that everyone was talking about, enjoying those moments like it was something out of this world. Ah, so many memories... 😊
@@mitismee like with other comments in here, my first fully focused World Cup was France '98. And luckily enough, my small country got the bronze medal.
All the world cup adverts now have some CGI stuff, Neymar taking a selfie, Players playing in some mad CGI world against fantasy characters. This just had the players messing around at the airport. I guarentee every kid who saw this and had to wait in line at an airport immediately wanted to get a ball and start recreating this. Simple, fun, superb.
I mean this one has CGI too, when they play on the runway all the planes and other stuff are CGI. It's just not as noticeable as in newer commercials because you don't have a whole CGI stadium with CGI people.
@@obbymillion Brazil's 1994,1998, 2002 teams made it to 3 straight World Cup finals for the world championship playing against Italy, France and Germany which showed how strong Brazil was at their peak being the world's best team.
This era of the Brazil national team had something incredibly special. Players like Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo and of course THE Ronaldo had something electrifying about them. Especially Ronaldo.
I was a child when my father showed me this ad and tell me " Son, remember the name, Brazil. The team who create magic". After 22 years, I told my daughter & son " Child remember the name, Brazil. The team who create magic".
I was 8. First tournament I actually got really into and tried to watch all the matches. A glorious summer. Sticker album, lots of merch even though my own country (Ireland) didn't qualify, it was still amazing.
I used to think that too... But looking back he didnt train for a 30 year old yes he was scoring goals in Brazil and tried to make a comeback in Europe at valencia and failed due to same problems.. He didn't train much and at international level the same thing he made lot of coaches upset
@@theslash9210 The guy was in top form in the 1997-98 season. Him and Ronaldo were gelling so well as a striker pair. I couldn't believe they brought along that idiot Edmundo instead, who I think (if I recall correctly) got red carded in the 1998 final.
@@VinayakPande53 I agree romario was a better pick than Edmundo.. But again too much politics in the team and Romario was always at the receiving end becoz of his off field lifestyle
I couldn't believe that they won their second group game 3-0 against tough Morocco (playing the soccer I liked) which got them the top spot of the group. Imagine a magic team beating by that margin a team that played with high speed. African teams didn't and still don't know how to handle Brazil at the world cup.
Brazil will always be my favorite team but that team that we grew up watching and wearing their numbers in the neighborhoods soccer match and school that was just pure magic 🪄 unbeatable with style and performance
this is amazing and beats any present day commercial hands down...the music gives real character to the idea of joga bonito, and this is how you establish cool without trying too hard with modern hardcore dance music in every commercial. Also Ronaldo looks more handsome than he usually is in this clip somehow.
This was amazing the first time I saw it. Just captured the pure joy of the game and of course of that extraordinary Brazilian team. The fact that Ronaldo lived up to the hype with his play on the field made it even better.
@@loicwalle this team didn’t get beaten 3-0, because Romario was not there. So the team in the vid want even at the World Cup. Plus R9’s epileptic fit.
When I was a kid I didn't watch football, but I still knew about several of the Brazilian players. Now I watch a lot of football, but I only know about few of the current Brazilian players.
I was only 7 years old when this world cup started but I remember evey single game my Croatia played. Most awsome game for me was against Jamaica which ended 3:1 in our favour. Croatia later won 3rd place beating Netherlands 2:1 and I was listening to that broadcast via radio in bus coming home from summer vacation with my parents. I'm 31 years old now but whole hype about that world cup was just masterpiece.
I was 8, in Ireland. So many kids in our school wore Croatia jerseys around that time and we had Croatia flags around the schoolyard. Was an amazing time. A great football country then and still today.
When Fenomeno was best in the World... My favourite footballer of All Time.... But since long time there is No great brazilian Player...From being a fan of brazilian football....I am Also Wish that brazil should Produce another great player
I remember being at boarding school, at the weekend we were allowed to watch TV, the older boys hushed all of us into silence when this ad came on. We were collectively hypnotized by it.
I remember watching the Spanish soccer Channel univision the whole talk was ronaldo not injured there was a rumor in the soccer community that Brazil sold out to France it makes sense the whole Ronaldo thing and France was the host
Era increíble! Pero este comercial levantó tanto la fama de Ronaldo que practicamente lo obligaron a jugar aunque estaba muy demacrado el día de la gran Final!
I was in doing an overnighter in Athens on my way to Crete on the night of the Final! 18 years old and wondered into a rooftop bar watch the game! 26 years ago! When I hear that song takes Me back every time….
People today have no idea how influential this ad was at the time. I was a kid in France and believe me, we were ALL singing or humming this tune while playing football, trying to recreate the "joga bonito", wether it was on the street, at school at football training.
The time when Brazil dominated football, when the Brazilians were the biggest football powers, those dribbles, skills, power. Unfortunately, they were second place at the 1998 World Cup. What kind of players did they have: Romario, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, etc.🇧🇷⚽️🇧🇷🥈
World Cup Soccer .... Brazil Titans ... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars .... Per Me ... For Me I admit Brazil amazing ... However I love ITALIA 🇮🇹⚽⭐⭐⭐⭐ ... 2006 Campioni Del Mondo I cried so happy I felt like I could fly , such a grateful moment .... God 🙏✝️❤️ bless soccer
No final do comercial quando Ronaldo chuta , ele acerta o objeto como se fosse a trave no campo de futebol , e quase uma semelhança com a final da copa , o Denilson na final acerta a trave dos Franceses .
