These are the first SB Dunks I've ever owned. I love the colorway on this shoe. It just works well with any outfit. Great shoe! Curious to see how they will break in.
I was fortunate to secure a 2023 pair from my local Orange Label shop!! (Also run by Humanoids) Fun fact, up to this day I actually thought you ran BlueTile Lounge in Canada. Until I realized you're actually in South Carolina. The moment you mentioned the USD price I thought something's off.
Hey Dave, I knew you had been in the game a while but it didn’t really occur to me that you’ve been at it 20 years. I’m sure you’ve got SOME cool stuff tucked away. Have you ever made a video about some of those? Best wishes!
All west coast skate shops back door it’s annoying. I never pay resell for SB DUNKS. Zoom insoles not that great this pretty basic SB, like an all black Air Force 1. It’s a 7/10
Well most skate shoes are designed after court shoes like the dunk or like similar tennis shoes. Then Nike added features to the dunk that were skate specific because nearly all skate shoes are an incarnation of the dunk.
@@DavidBluetilethis! I wear mine for tennis all the time 🤫 wondering how the gum sole will hold up compared to the sole on some of the non-orange label quick strike releases 🤔 a bit afraid to sacrifice a pair just to see how they respond to being on a tennis court.
@@tcoast1161deadass I knew once the buy button wasn’t working the first minute it was out it was over for me. I took the L and bought it on eBay for 200 before the price change
Yep, they're ruining the one remaining collectible they produce (Nike "retro-ing" Dunk SBs). ...and just like that, every Dunk SB I own is officially for sale... EDIT: ...and the most baffling angle of this entire thing is they chose a general release shoe that's less than 2 years old.
Hey man! If you are thinking about doing any other comparison videos, do you think you could do the Tyshawn OGs compared to the Remastered version? I have been looking all over to find a good comparison but haven't found much. You have been my go-to for skate shoe reviews for a while now and just wanted to say keep up the good work!
Oh man. I can try. I wonder if we got the old style still in stock though. I will say they fit better. The toe box used to be narrow for me but I got a pair a few weeks ago and the new ones have more of a diamond shaped toe box … which sounds weird but fits way better.
Honestly that’s exactly the info I was looking for. I have a 13 wide foot. My favorite is the Forums but I love the style of the Tyshawn. Hoping the remaster has enough room to be comfortable in. Thank you for the answer!
Honestly my sb dunk premiums from back in like 2008/09 felt way nicer than the current run. The insole particularly was incredibly soft in the forefoot, and the new pour in is definitely much sturdier.
I just got the 2023 pair yesterday and just compared to the 2021 version. Main difference I noticed was the lighter gum like you said but the 2021 version the suede/nubuck is a little hairy compared to the 2023 version is more flat.
I see that too but what I wonder is after years of being moved around or loosened up wouldn’t you think the fibers have been slightly brushed? Either way I don’t think that signifies a huge difference in quality really. Im not sure
@@DavidBluetile No, I don't think it matters either way really clean colorway. My personal preference is the 2023 my 2021 pair came banged up from the factory looking dusty in certain areas.
I also have both years DS and my 2021 pair also has longer suede while the 2023 is more flat. Flat looks cleaner while the longer looks slightly more inconsistent.
Mine too but is that because it’s worn? Also I know sometimes when we order the same jeans the next batch is slightly different. I’m sure it’s not much different when it comes to shoe materials
@@DavidBluetile mine were not worn. Thats how they were when I picked it up from the skateshop in 2021. I have them deadstock and they still look the same now.
Suade looks good to me and virtually the same as my gorge green highs I think it's good quality mine are going a bit fluffy from brushing them kinda like it.
Well I mean. This batch had sold out. We are randomly getting another restock but “easy cop” … I don’t think you’ll be able to lackadaisically walk into a shop any day and just grab a pair but if you plan ahead and follow up with your local shop it shouldn’t be too hard.
I wanted these so bad by the time I signed on to the SNKRS App at 10:01 am they were sold out smh note to self log in at 9:59 and buy instantly at 10am
@@stephenlamley541 No, it's actually very bad. You're right about it being nicer than the materials on most Nikes...but that's not saying a whole lot. ...but if you genuinely think the suede on these Fog Dunk SBs is quite nice, you've never owned a truly well made pair of shoes. Sorry, but that's the truth...
It sucks that Nike only allows certain shops to ship and others can’t. If you’re someone like me, and have no skateshops in a 30 mile radius, we’re stuck battling bots and nationwide raffles. But whatever. They’re just shoes I guess, at least that’s what I have to tell myself.
We used to be able to sell them but then they “cleaned up online distribution” and changed it to online select shops sell online. I think because it was driving sales down but honestly I think snkrs did that. Once dunks went online via Nike people stopped getting out of bed to line up in lines for shoes. They died in shops.
@@DavidBluetile unfortunately I wouldn’t know since I don’t live near a shop that sells new releases. We have a Nike and Adidas Outlet in Napa but they sell mostly running shoes. Can’t find sb dunks or Jordan’s in this town unless it’s a reseller. The closest shop to me is Proof in San Rafael but that’s 45 minutes away and it would be ridiculous to drive there everyday to hope for a new pair of kicks. They don’t post ahead of time, it’s always shock drops with them. So again, I’m just stuck with nationwide and battling bots.
