Definitely recommend the RM version. In terms of Hard-ish skating, the RM lasted an additional month or so for me. I bought the OG just a couple months ago because the leather laces they came with are nostalgic, but the durability is not as good. Janoskis are not the most durable skate shoe, but I absolutely love the slim and low profile. I liked your review on the two models. 👍
Glad to hear the RM’s are in fact going to be a bit more durable, shoe goo is holding my OG’s together but not sure how much longer they will last. Thanks for the feedback 🙌
Strongly disagree, i ve been wearing only janoskis since i was in Highschool. I'm 24 now. The RM version was a cheaper downgraded shoe plus the shape of it was weirder regarding their tongue(if u know what i mean cause my English is bad). back in time i would wear the og's play basketball, soccer whatever they would not get folded one bit (these shoes were intact for 2 or 3 years). The new ones i got got got weared and teared within the very early months of me wearing them and the shoe folded plus the bottom of the shoe came of at some place.
These are literally the shoes I'm gonna have soon! Had the OGs for about 2 years and just now buying those black/gum RMs. OGs are just gonna be my "old shoes" now haha
In my opinion, they should have kept the OG version as a lifestyle alternative, cause it definitely looks better than the new RM... As for skating, obviously it's the other way round.
I think you’re onto something! Also Nike may have listened to a lot of that feedback as someone else in the comments here said they got an email recently saying they are doing OG colourway in an RM build. Very keen on that
I got a pair of the OGs in white last year just to wear around. I used to always wear running shoes to walk around in but they have quickly become my favorite shoes!
Thanks for this. I just started skating and bought the burnt orange RMs. Then I realized there were other versions and got worried I bought the wrong shoes!!
Might just be me, but anyone feel like the heel is stiffer on the RM? There's a hard backing behind the suede on both the OG and RM which keeps the heel upright, but it feels harder and higher on the RM which bugs my Achilles when pushing.
In the us we get them at the outlet or other discount stores for under $40-50 and also don’t forget Nike does a student discount and they give you 20% off your entire order once a month, I’ve already bought 2 janoskis and some blazers with that discount!
@@rymiller5508 depending on your style. It looks better then shoegoo. But boot wax on the toe cap. Will make the them slip more so they rip less. And not get stiff like shoegoo. I'm trying to find a store near me to get the Stefan Janoski Flyleather RMs. I know they are ugly but only going to skate them.
@@rymiller5508 (off topic) I'm really wanting to get the volley deuce hi top in leather. But they want $119aud for a skate shoe want to be. I'm thinking Nike SB Jenoski FL RM are the go. But for Australia. I want to work with Volley. (I don't think there Dunlop any more) and see if they can make there skate looking shoes for the price of skate shoes worth the money they ask. They say it's napa leather. Why put napa leather on a shoe. It's for car seats. And $1000 shoes. But I'll keep getting at them. Every one has skated in Dunlop volleys internationals tennis shoes as a kid. They where like $15aud in the late 80s. Now there trendy there $70aud. Reminds me of Converse ct all-stars. 90s they where $60. Now there $110. And rip in a day. But any whom. I use boot wax brand new as a lube to present. Grip tape griping onto the leather. Maybe gives it a few extra weeks of use. It's like how people super glue stitching or lacers.
@@rymiller5508all my shoes are vans, im planning to try janoski I dont know if this is true to size. Can you help me decide If i wear 8.5 in vans do i go to 8.5 as well in janos?
A good 6 months which included 3 hours a day in my driveway practicing flip tricks for 5 weeks straight! They definitely held their own 🙌 my RM’s have such little sign of wear even now
vlones those are a couple years old, eBay would be the best bet. Nike has the date the shoes are made on the size tag inside. Sometimes skate shops will have older shoes too
