Thanx for review! I’ve only had peloton’s shoes and definitely want some that are as minimal support as possible. These sound awesome and they are cute!
Thank you so much for this video super detail, easy & straight to the point. I have the schwin ic4 and apparently it works with the SPD cleats. And I got some but for some reason they aren’t clipping in. Any advice?
Great review video Kaleigh! Sweet looking shoes, glad they fit well!! I've been wearing my Pearl Izumi Canyon shoes since January for spinning and they have been a game changer. Clips-ins just feel so much more secure!
Just got my pair and brought them to a bike shop. Woman says, "These aren't really spin shoes...". Then charges me close to $50 for adapters, cleats, and labor. Whines about the shoes being "hard to install cleats on." I told her get used to it, because these are fairly new to the market and she might be seeing then again. I think I got robbed since you have the same exact cleat (SPD) installed WITHOUT adapters. By the way, NO ONE in my entire spin class including the instructor knew how to refer to them as SPD, only as standard spin cleats. Think I need to invest in my own bike and cleat install next time 🙄
Wow! That’s interesting. I’m curious what adapter. My shoes came with everything to mount SPD cleats or delta style cleats and they were very easy to install. Hope you like those shoes! I know I do!
Wow. Not knowing they’re called SPD lol “Shimano pedaling dynamic” 😂 and there is also spd-sl. Next time just go to REI and buy cleats. They’re like 10 bucks and installation is easy but a little bit of a hassle because you have to get your foot position right but still pretty easy.
How are they to walk in? I hate to switch shoes at the gym so I’d love to have a pair I can leave house in, walk into the gym, do my workout and go home all in the same cycle shoe
Hi, Kaleigh! Love, love, love your channel! Been thinking about getting spin shoes, BUT, I wear custom orthotics in my running shoes. While this has been one of the best decisions ever (I need my feet to last!), I wonder how that will translate with cycling shoes?? Is that a thing?
That’s a really good question!!! I have orthotics too and when I was looking to get cycling shoes for my road bike, I tried the orthotics in that pair and it worked just fine! I haven’t tried to put them in the Nike super rep cycle shoes though. I’ll test it in the morning and see how it goes! I will say though, I would imagine that if you did go for the Nikes, you may want to order up a 1/2 or full size. I’ve heard several times they run small, I got my normal size and they fit ok, but with my orthotics, I think it would be a squeeze!
Soooo close. Just got the shoes BUT they were missing the three prong piece to install the cleats ☹️ Since they can’t send just the pieces, gotta do a good ole return and reorder. 🤞🤞🤞 Can’t wait to kick butt in them!!
Hi Kayleigh , I had my daughter order the shoes for me. When I ordered them a size 9 1/2 thinking they would fit just right they fit me a little snug. I was able to return them for a size 10. They fit perfectly fine but the clips on the bottom they sent along with shoe , don’t seem to be complete. Am I supposed to order the clips separately? And if so where do I order them from ? She said she doesn’t see the clips on the Nike website? I’m so sad. 😩 Thank you Kayleigh just loving your videos!!!!🌷💕
Hi Olivia! Glad you got the right size and yes! The cleats will come separate! It does get a little confusing because there are different styles and pieces that have to come together! You’ll have to confirm what your pedals will be compatible with to decide what cleats to get! I use the Shimano SPD cleats.
Hey @Kaleigh, would you mind letting me know if these shoes are good for Rogue's Echo Bike. I am not sure if its a different type of bike where these cleat-type shoes aren't what its intended for.
Hi Aaron! I have never used a Rogue Echo Bike before, but I googled to have a look! Nike advertises these as indoor cycling shoes, and the Echo Bike has the add-on for pedals that would fit this shoe. My personal opinion is that these shoes would work for the Echo Bike too! And possibly even give you more power in the pedal stroke. Again, I haven’t been on that bike, so wouldn’t be able to compare the feeling between a spin bike and the Echo in the shoe, but Rogue doesn’t seem to specify one shoe that it works best with.
Hi Nick! No, I don’t have any bike reviews, however, the bike I have now is a Stages, bike! It is really a great bike and I would highly recommend it. I’ve also done lots of research and comparison on Amazon and have included several bikes on my Amazon store as well! I believe for almost all of the bikes the weight range is up to 280lbs, however most bikes refer to inseam for height in this situation! I’ll share the link to my store, in case that would be helpful! www.amazon.com/shop/kaleighcohenfitness
@@kaleigh Thanks for the reply Kaleigh! It looks like most of the bikes on your store are marked "currently unavailable", although that may be a region issue? I'll take a look at Stages bikes. Thanks!
The sole is very stiff, especially in the arch area. It has provided a lot of support for me and even now 6 or so months later, they feel just as stiff. 😄
Hi Caden! I believe you can use them on the road but my initial impression is they are built for indoor/ studio spin classes based off of how light weight and ventilated they are.
So I’m about to purchase a peloton as we speak and dont know much about the shoes. I really like how the Nike ones look, compared to the peloton brand. Also looks lighter. The peloton shoes are $125 and comes with cleats. Nike is $120, but no cleats. If I were to get the Nike ones, any suggestions on what type of cleats I should get? That would work best for the peloton bike?
@@kaleigh yea, that’s what I just found out. I’m wondering if it would be worth paying $150 for Nike total (the delta cleats are $25) or just getting the Peloton shoes for $125 (cleats included)
I just got these from Dicks online and it only has two small identical steel pieces in the bag. I feel like I'm missing some attachments. Can you confirm?
@@kaleigh Thank you Kaleigh. I'm sorry, I guess I'm asking, shouldn't there be more than just two small pieces? Because that's all that's in the bag. Thank you again.
Has anyone worn these for actual cycling outdoors? I heard they don’t last long and I wanted to see if it’s worth it or just spend more on different ones. Background: I have dedicated specialized cleats but I like Nike so I wouldn’t mind buying a second pair and these are also inexpensive compared to giro, specialized, Rapha etc.
I have not yet tried these outdoors. Compared to other cycling shoes, they are very thin so I would imagine a waterproof cycling shoe cover would be helpful. Definitely an affordable price though compared to others. If I try them outdoors, I will definitely update! 😁
Hey Cristian! The top is a breathable mesh material. The straps, I’m not exactly sure what material it is made up of, but very light weight. The tongue is made of a thin leather and the bottom is plastic.
