Just did my first run in them. I’m really liking the update. I think the biggest change to the ride is related to that new heel clip. It seems to wrap farther around the heel area and is far more stiff. It really helps with the stability. And definitely agree, these look 100% better.
I picked up V1 for under $50 U.S. after an Edd Budd monthly shoe discount episode. It’ll probably last me until V4 comes out. Great videos Edd. Thank you.
I've have my pair now for about 2 weeks and I must say this Zoomx is something special. I work valet and having to jog around a huge parking lot my feet hurts a lot, but with these Nike zoom the pain is no more! I do have double sock because of the heel sipping
Also enjoying the update from version 2. Defo not as squishy which isn’t a bad thing. Didn’t get the major heal slip like many but still went for the runners knot. Great vid as always 👍
Well we certainly need a vs the rest video soon. I tried a pair of version 2 recently and thought it was too soft for me. And i am a guy who still loves versions 1 and 2 of Novablast.
Hi Edd! I couldn't agree more regarding too short laces! Gosh, with some shoes it's nigh impossible to tie a runners knot as there isn't enough lace length! I'm sure manufacturers are wanting to save money wherever they can...but come on...give us a little more lace length and cut out a bit of the squishy foam!
Uhhm well I truly feel honored by this now … I don’t know what to say … except maybe we’ll that you look astonishing fresh in recent videos (not the u looked un-fresh before 😂) Btw the zoomx smell is not a odor more like an awesome fantastic smell … more like a fragrance . And u have to do it with new pairs… sadly they loos the smell :). Anyways thank you again that u went the extra mile ! Cheers and congratulations to 35k !
I love the invincible 1 and 2 Iv only dune one run on tired legs in the v3 but it didn’t feel as bouncy and soft but that might have been my legs But I also got heel slip the runners knot helpes a lot but still felt it a little bit I felt the fit of the front of the shoe felt nicer tho
On REFLECTION...the pro with having them on your shoes = your feet move more than your body and so stand out more to crazy driver people. I would LOVE some combination waterproofing+reflection spray @EDBUD - great idea!
Just got in from my first run in the invincible 3s. Never had any of the previous iterations. I am fairly impressed with them. One question I do have is why do manufacturers always seem to skimp on the insoles. They are so thin and flimsy. It’s almost like a piece of paper in there!
I think the thinking of Nike is that the midsole is quite thick and there is no extra cushion needed from the insole. Infinity Run and Invincible Run had these thin insoles. Besides a thicker insole adds to the weight of already heavy shoe. However, the thin insole was useful for me in Alphafly over the stock glued insole. The midfoot of Alphafly is narrow and the edge of stock insole in some shoes rub against the medial arch of the foot. Putting extra thin insole of Ininity Run over solved that problem.
You mention luminous paint. There was a company around a few years ago selling a reflective spray paint. Think it had some kind of 3M reflcetive stuff in it. Might work on running shoes. Invisible Bright was whatnit was called. I only used it on gloves for winter running and cycling but of course after a few sweaty runs i had to wash them so it washed right off.
Sadly returned mine. Had hoped this one would work but nope. I think the very wide base does not work with my footstrike. I did find the lockdown an issue even with the runners knot. Clearly the Invincible range is not for me. Vomero 17 looks promising.
Hmm, still think the side swoosh on the 3s look cheap, much bigger fan of the linear kind on the 1&2, but there’s a cool factor to having the new one and hey it’s improved
Thank you for noting how the 3M strips caused you pain on your big toe. It helped me pinpoint why my big toes have both been hurting so much lol. If you have any solutions for that (besides buying a diff shoe), please share.
I like them i have no problems with them even tying them regularly no runners knot if they had these out when i was in the Marines i wouldve bought them and ran in them i used to run in Nike Shox torch 3 and the Reax i also like the vomero 16vtoo i also got a pair of air max plus 3
Yeah see the military issue sneakers were them old new balance. In the Marines they had rubber complete sole and a dence foam then they were like a cloth material I had them Nikes when I went to my unit when I bought them with my own money but I really liked running in them shox they were durable I had 1 pair of shox I ran in and worked out in for like 10 to 11 yrs and retired them from running and used them every day I got around 15 yrs out of them
I even tryed them Reebok reziggs. Ok and around 6 months after I had them the little rubber grip strips on them were comming off the holes on them would pack with mud or if ur running on a like gravel trail the rocks would get stuck in the lugs they were my back up sneakers to my torch 3 by Nike but they got stolen from me so I had to use them reziggs
Them Reebok reziggs were like a dark gray with a silver Reebok symbol on them and the foam was yellow and my big toe caused a tiny hole in the top of the material I paid 95 to 100 bucks or earth credits for them they weren't worth it
great video, just want to ask about the sizing, would you say go for the same size as Pegasus should be fine? or go for half size smaller as it's a less structured shoe? cheers
The upper is sand paper like.Keeps scraping the top of the foot and the heel.Such a shame for such an expensive shoe.Anyone experienced anything similar?
still no plans to purchase this max cushion shoe I'm worried that it may last for just 4 month as a daily trainer. I would rather get the saucony triumph 20 and up over this shoe and might as well wait on the release of Saucony Kinvara Pro, Endorphin speed 4 and Tempus 2. Then in adidas line possibly wait for the release of boston 12, and adios 8,
Just got home from the Nike store with the intention of coming home with a pair. I was so disappointed even tried a half size smaller but the heel slippage was really bad even with a runner's knot. i was wiling to sacrifice a toebox width but i really cant. NOW i understand why the 1nd and 2nd versions had that unecessary thick foam around the ankle!
Stability is greatly improved over the 2. Walking in them is certainly impressive. I found them roomy and I have a pretty wide foot. I had heel slip until tightened, though I do wear 11 wide in some shoes and purchased these in 12. Returned mine. My feet were aching more than any other shoe I've EVER run in...and upper materials have a trash bag like quality. Could have just been a sore day, idk, but $200 for that!? Lol... They've been smoking their own foam.
@@EDDBUD I'm 240lbs. I don't know if I was bottoming out or what, but I did not even feel cushioning while running. Super nice while walking. I only did 4 miles too. For me, even a cheap Assert 8 from UA is better for running. The only other shoe that has caused me pain is the Adidas Adizero. Only pain that caused was in my toes. The first run felt great, but the 2nd felt like my toes were bent backwards. Was doing 9mph on the second run and slow paced 6 on the first. I have several new shoes to test. Peg 39, Flynit 3, Asics Kayano Lite 2, Ultraboost 5.0, 22, and Solarglide 5(good so far). I'll find what suits me. I plan on buying the Nimbus 25 after I move.
Certainly not gonna getting this one, have v1 and never understood why people love it so much that clunker .. way better option out there for miles eaters, but must say v3 at least looks somehow like shoe that people actually might want to use casual,
I couldn’t get past the over-engineered heel/ankle collar in v.1 & 2, so I’m glad they’ve refined that. However, I’m not fond of the “faux patent non-leather” look of that upper! I hope that material feels better than it looks. I’m not going to compare the ride to the Nimbus25 since that’s very much a matter of personal preference, but the upper of the Inv.3 looks cheap and unpleasant compared to what’s probably one of the most classy and comfortable uppers ever (the Nimbus25). For the price, Nike could have done better on that count. As far as the “squeak” all I can think of are those non-stop shoe-floor squeaks in basketball games. Maybe it’s a given with Nike😂
I have always found the Nike zoomx shoes rather noisy. Pretty much ever one! The upper perhaps doesn’t look the best in the black version but it hits the spot for actual fit.
Hey eddbud! My comments is probably 10 months too late. I measured foot and is 26.5cm tall and 10cm wide. I bought the pegasus 40 in size 9us as it is 27cm in jp/cm size and I want to purchase this invincible 3 as my next one. Problem is in nike Pegasus 40 (size 9/ 27cm) I measured the insole as 28cm, so it already has an allowance or some sort compared to the nike size chart but my toes are bulging? and my shoes are taking the shape of my toes. Sometimes part of the uppers (toe part) are wrinkled, and some parts are concave. I don't like how the uppers specially the toe part distorting when I wear shoes. So i was wondering what size to get in these. I can't really try this on the store as they are not available. Only online would be the best option. Most of the shoe sellers and outlet mainly sells basketball shoes alone as they are the more popular options. Thanks in
Hi Edd - The midsole in the first version was very easily damaged (a thorn took a chunk out of mine on the first run!), can’t comment on the 2nd iteration - does this update feel more robust?
Dear Edd, please suggest me the daily trainer for aerobic sessions between Invincible v3 and Nimbus 25/Novablast 3. I have had an infinity react run v1 when I was new to running and it gave me fresh legs over daily 10k runs. After its retirement I bought a Pegasus 39 as a daily trainer, but man it hurts …
The novablast is a good daily shoe. The other two are more for recovery or long run needs. I mean you can run daily stuff in the invincible but it’s very squashy and may be an issue for aerobic work.
@@EDDBUD thanks for the reply! I think Ill replace my Peg39 with Nova3 and also decide a shoe for easy Maffeton trainings... Do you recommend the Invincible 3 more than Nimbus 25?
You recommend trying the shoes in a real store. Is this still possible today? I can drive to Herzogenaurach within an hour where adidas and Puma have their HQ and there are the largest Nike, Puma and adidas outlets in Germany. Even Sport Hoffmann is there which is the store founded from Adi Dassler's sister-in-law. You cannot buy any "real" running shoe there. No Puma Nitro, no Alpha or Vapor Fly and in the adidas outlet they had a few Pro 2's and Takumi Sen's but much more expensive than some online stores. It makes absolutely no sense to drive to the other side of Nurnberg for me. The only stores worth visiting are the 2 Decathlon stores in northern Bavaria.
I'm still in doubt of wich one to get this first half of the year : Nike Invincible 3 , Adidas Ultraboost 23 ( Ultraboost Lite ?) or the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 . The one from Asics is the one with more stack height in the middlesole but it seems more discreet then the Invincible 3 with that billboard "destroying " the looks of the Middlesole. And I did not see many pictures of the new Ultraboost, yet. To have an opinion about it.
@@hudsons6006 invincible for comfort, Ultraboost were great for stability and durability, haven’t tried new Ultraboost 23 which according to the early reviews are 50g lighter
I tried these on at Dick’s and it was no bueno. My foot structure is not a good fit for any Nike running shoes. I have wide and flat feet So I’ve found the only shoes conducive to my run style are New Balance in a wide.
There's one about 10 miles away from me. I went early November but there wasn't really any good deals. I think it's just a case of going at the right time of year or getting lucky on the day. I don't ever pass, so every time I'd be going out of my way.
@@Stevenc1984 We have some here in Memphis because Nike's world distribution center is here. I've seen things like Alphafly's for $99. Invincible Run for $79. It's pretty insane sometimes.
Wow this one did create a lot of interest! I'm now wondering if the high arch / less sinking in to the React midsole in the infinity actually helped with the fit. I won't be getting any of that paint for a while, I'm laying low for a spell, we nearly got caught the other night. 😉🟨🚅
