@@JLY852 idk what clown world youre living in but its alr happening ..? The secondary sneaker market is dying fast almost every shoe is at or around retail with the exception of a couple popular collabs Idk where tf you been
Exactly, I can't find any shoes at our Nike outlet bc all the re-sellers stand in line everyday to buy up every good shoe they can leaving shoppers with only gym teacher shoes to choose from!! I HATE THOSE DAMM RE-SELLERS
The proper way is to limit how many shoes they can buy at the outlets.. Those dirtbags buy every good shoe everyday and the buyers never has the chance to get anything
It really ain’t fair everyone should be able to go out and buy a pair of sneakers they like instead of being forced to pay double so I’m happy they are doing this
@@donjon2816 they weren't limited before resellers came along. The Travis Scott mochas were 180 retail. I know I'm not finding them retail, so I'm forced to pay resell.
@@monkeyman4455 shit but isn’t it the reason you want the sneaker because it’s limited and you can show off or feel good that you have it and other person doesn’t
I'm a sneakerhead I don't resell shoes and I'll tell you this is the best Best news ever Resellers really made it hard for all the sneaker heads out there to get shoes for the original retail price.
@@dirkahnwilliams1490 $1600 on both goat and stockx for size us 10 man for something that was supposed to be a $160 pair of sneakers is just mental brah most of us would never be able to get or even touch one like ever
@@kizombooooo8457 it’ll require resellers to be more selective on what they think will resell, rather than buying up a general release shoe and returning it, not allowing the general public to cop
A little too late. The hype around Jordans is fading out. Shoes are sitting. People are onto other brands, comfortable shoes or nowadays the pants are covering the shoes.
Exactly 💯! Those RE-SELLERS get on my nerves. They line up everyday at the outlet everyone shops at then buy up every good shoe that's put on shelves. They don't leave nothing for shoppers They really piss everyone off!
Shiiiiitttttt I wear shoes, never returned anything to nike. Been member since 2016 and have not won a single raffle this year 0/18.. i got screen shots of every L
@@TheRobbinbryson I feel you! I always get an email saying I wasn’t selected. F’n BS! It’s crazy how resellers be getting stacks of shoes that haven’t even been released to the general public. The game is F up! F the bots too! I just want a pair for my personal.
I could be wrong too but, i feel like most europeans understand how stupid and worthless it is paying luxury prices for material that isn’t necessarily worth it. Ie. Nike Shoes. Alot of the big fashion houses are based there. I feel like their eye for quality and craftsmanship matters to them. Rep sneaker culture is growing for a reason. People are waking up to the true value of these shoes. Which are mainly hyper inflated from forced scarcity, rather than from innate quality and actual rarity.
You still gonna have to win on the app fam I hate to say it they might still push a few to brick and mortar but I think this is to boost or better yet balance online app sales and help evenly distribute product
This is a really good first step, tho I feel it doesn’t address the full issue, which is bots. It was mentioned that Nike will track account activity based on sales and returns, however, how can this be accurately tracked if bots are scripted to purchase certain drops? One user can run a bot that acts as 1,000 different accounts. Unless Nike cracks down on account creation and verification, bots will continue to scoop up most of what we can’t get.
Might be why Confucius relegated traders to the lowest social class, as they are not making anything new & are basically resellers. However there're resellers/scalpers in the country arguing the marked-up prices that they sell at is fair compensation for their effort spent to source & buy their wares, and that they are obeying market forces
@@rayyanshaikh5591 I mean they keep up with inflation but yes I know the quality of reps v retail. Nike qc be getting pretty sloppy over the years. But reasonable in relation to buying retail over buying on the 2nd after market for them.
It's an even better time today a year later in the buyer's market. A ton of these resellers have been pretty much forced to sell their stock at or below retail to cut losses as much as they can. I've found some great deals the last 6 months or so. This all reminds me of those PC gfx card resellers using all those bots to buy up new cards. They can suck one.
The return policy could be effective the rest of the policies are written by people who have never ran a sneaker bot, doesn’t understand VCCs, jigging addresses, pre verified SNKRS accounts etc. basically don’t get your hopes up at most this is just going to affect profit margins for the mid to lower tier resellers
@@kangarojack3814No they don’t. They could easily keep restocking them forever, they choose to keep quantities low even though they get these shoes made for nothing.
@@albertodeulofeu5277The reason is, it's a business, not a charity. You and Kangarojack are thinking from your perspective, but imagine you owned Nike, how would you really run it? Huge difference when you change the perspective.
Bro I have a feeling you don’t know how Nike botting works, this will at most resolut in us being more careful what shoes we go for and cause a slight inconvenience at most. I don’t see a reason how this should actually destroy reselling??
This helps the resale market and hurts dubious resellers. No more bulk ordering to inflate demand then having Nike reimburse you for your bad investment.
I would think this could potentially do just that considering bots are probably making very conspicuous purchases Nike could then flag and refuse to fulfill. Maybe not tho
@@falovmalor7337 hardware bans are gonna be a thing for call of duty soon, so I'd think maybe Nike gonna talk to Activision about something like that to stop botters, ppl will be pissed but they shouldn't have associated with a reseller
@@falovmalor7337bruh, learn how to use punctuation. I had to read your paragraph three times to make it make sense. Try a PERIOD after the word "purchases".
They could just release more of the same shoe... but they won't because they like keeping their shoes rare bc it adds more hype. Resellers and limited releases ensure that all of their products retain high demand and immediately get bought out. The only reason they're cracking down on this is because returns loses them money, the whole penalizing resellers part is just a coincidence that they're going to focus on for good publicity. They want resellers, they just don't want them returning the pairs that don't sell well.
@@noelno_tv4418 pretty sure if you look up RU-vid right now reps of your favorite shoe, you will get a at least five or 10 reviews. That’s not even on top of the other people that buy them without telling anyone at all. To say that no one buys them is a complete fallacy, people by them they are just either quiet or very loud about it. There are a whole channels dedicated to it on RU-vid the most notable one being CEDAZ and he is helping Nike right now Or at least provided evidence that stock X pass his face in the ongoing Nike stock X lawsuit.
@@hp7639 Cedaz made a whole video explaining how he got the best reps and it got through stockXs verification, he then sent this over to Nike support which was then sent to their lawyers as evidence in the court case against StockX. I would love it if more shoes were just available on the stock shelves where I could buy them easily. I don’t wanna have to pay double or triple the price of msrp because some dude and his bot got 20 extra pairs to resell.
This ain’t stopping nothing. It just stops people from returning product. They will just sell it for cheaper and take the hit. But it ain’t saving no one who just wants to buy shoes
it probably won’t stop them but i hope it does. it’s literally so annoying how you can’t even get shoes nowadays without paying a ridiculous amount for it.
@@grandparodent haha piss off reseller. Go get a life and a job, you only make $5 profit. You won't get anywhere, ever, and once you die your $19 of reselling profit will be taken by your family and used to buy two big macs at mcdonalds
Chances are, The company you work for, is a scalper. That’s what busienss is. Disney makes their Minnie ears for $1 overseas. And sells them at $34.99 at the theme park. That’s far more abusive than what resellers do.
@@albertodeulofeu5277Disney's product is sold by Disney themself at Disneyland which is their own theme park. How that is the same with a Nike product, sold by Nike and purchased by someone not from Nike, then reselling the shit 1000 dollars than the retail price 150 dollars??????
Okay see this makes sense, I’ve been checking recently and shoes that were once going for $1000 are now like $400 and shoes that were $400 are now like $100, puts a smile on my face I might actually start buying shoes
If that happens that would be a very big W for team @Nike because the effort it took me to buy The jodan 1 high off white unc chicago was immeasurable and I don't want to do that for any heaters.......
It is about time cause i don’t like to see shoes like neon 95 og being scooped up then being listed on ebay and stockx for at least $300 right after the release. Resellers just making these shoes unavailable for people. It is totally againts from nike’s will like they want to reach as much people as they just can. They want people being able to enjoy their shoes. I totally agree with Nike.
Nike is not the only shoe brand in the world. The world of sneakers doesn't revolve on them. This will be better for other sneaker brands and startup sneaker brands.
Yessss, I’m glad they doing something about it! I was wondering how the last few drops still been in stores! I was for sure thinking the Olympic 6’s was gonna be hard to get but they’re still in stores! Smh ppl done fucked the sneaker game up
Purchase limits will most definitely put the clamp down on reselling. If the limit is 2 or 3, it will definitely force resellers to sell for a significantly lower price they can sell it for, maybe even to the point that it is not worth it. No matter what, there will be a huge impact.
Good. I’m not a sneaker head but I’d like to buy a pair or two that I like every now and then and not have to just through hoops or pay out the ass. Resellers treating shoes like they’re Pokémon cards and I’m over here just trying to wear some shoes lol
The stress these people hold onto daily on prices going down or up etc must be through the roof. People will lose their lives over this, and thats the sad reality.
I saw the AF1 LV8 coming out, loved the tan ones…the day they dropped they were sold out on the Nike website and already on StockX for a like 80% markup. 😒 luckily Nike restocked the next week and I was able to cop without being gouged. Reselling is way outta control.
Been into sneakers since 2009 or so and usually I wouldn’t support something like this but in the last 5 years reselling has gotten so out of control it’s absolutely ridiculous so I welcome these new policies
I fully agree with the decision of Nike. I hope it stops inflating prices for people who just want to buy some nice shoes to wear instead of investing in them.
Nike needs to do something like cancelling orders of the same sneaker to the same household or P.O. Box. No one should be able to get 5x pairs of collab sneakers to the same address unless they are in different grade sizes like kids, preschool, women, men. Only then should anyone ever be able to get so many rare sneakers from Nike.
To me it seems like when it comes to restocking fees or return refusals that it will only have an affect on mainly GR’s or shit that doesn’t “resell”. Looks like the pairs that would only sell for around $50 profit will be easier to cop while hype releases where you’re guaranteed a good amount profit will still continue to get botted and what not. Limiting the amount of pairs bought won’t really affect anyone who’s got other family members and addresses. I don’t resell like my life depends on it like a full time job, but I will try to get any hyped release with the intent to sell or trade or wear if it’s something I actually would wear.
Thank god im tired of goin to the store that only been open for 20-30 mines and they say all the shoes gone whole time they done backdoor them to they homeboys
There is no way they know if you are reselling products. What they need to do is eliminate bots from being able to purchase by sending confirmation codes to be able to make purchases
This is a turn for the better in my opinion, I hate resellers that buy out all hype shoes, that then causes prices to be jacked up for no reason other than them being selfish and wanting to make some easy money
Dude nike store employees are encouraged to create accounts for buyers in store. They also include a discount for 1st purchse... all u need is a new email everytime. I haven't done this but see employees push it all the time because it shows on there reports how many accounts were made thus showing the employees sales and such
It won’t stop resellers at all bc resellers will just make multiple accounts with different emails addresses and etc just so they can as many pairs as possible
Nike needs to produce more product, and stop strangling retailers with such limited stock deliveries that many of them are have allegedly been resorting to selling fakes as the real deal.
This has been happening in the card world for a few years now, the card companies have been figuring out ways to fight the secondary market price by starting limits, no returns, raising the price themselves to cut out the scalper. Oh yeah, they are called scalpers too!! Real Resellers can make money without having to simply clear a stores shelves, they actually have product knowledge that allows them to identify a good item that has potential!
I'm happy reseller are going out of business,,,,,I bought my first pair Nike Dunks in over 10 years, I refused to pay 2x to 5x over retail....the funny part is I got them off the nike website for $58...
Spoiler Alert: I worked for NDC from 2012-2019 and this has ALWAYS been their policy. They even use algorithms to determine priority by sales. Meaning, the more BS you bought throughout the year, the better chances of scoring. Also, if you’ve ever submitted your acct username to a bot system, your acct is automatically flagged. It doesn’t tell you nor does it block the account, it simply restricts it from winning. The issue is this only effects a SMALL population of accounts, clearly. It’s impossible to prevent because the majority of mass resellers get their bulk from local boutique with Nike accounts. If a boutique is caught, they’re banned but that doesn’t stop them.
They can pay people to make purchaser accounts to circumvent all the.policies targeting resellers. Instead of one account purchasing 50 pairs, they have 50 accounts purchasing 1 pair. When there's a return it appears as one customer returning one pair.
Each shoe they drop most likely will be 2x cheaper then. Since each drop will have plenty of leftovers and they will make too many shoes on every drop. Either that or lower stock on each drop
