Just grabbed these joints from my local skate shop SILO omaha! Very surprised by the materials, wasn't exactly sure what to expect. Burgundy velvet material is what sold me on these!
These have been sitting in Australia for a week picked up 4 pairs from different shops of US13 really hard to get SB’s here in a 13 so stock up when I get the chance also got 2 pairs of the pastoral print also really slept in, trocadero garden sitting. All these olympics are amasing but people see GR and sleep which is good
The shoe is more specifically based on the world's oldest live theater in Paris France. Also, my guess has always been that Nike SB only does their sail box for only the QS of "mainline" or "legacy" products like Blazers and Dunks. Because I've just never seen it on any other silhouette from what I can recall.
The first two PS8 came in sail box, My doyenne blazers came in a sail box... which were a different kind of blazer from the norm, the polar trainers and blazers came in QS box.... hmmm let me think... the supreme Darwin came in a sale box.
@@DavidBluetile Supreme is an odd one because their "Stars" Dunk Low 4pk from a few years ago even came in a purple box, but the Ramelzee set was also Sail?🤔 The Doyenne makes sense kinda because even the GT Blazer QSs came in the rainbow/sail boxes. And the PS8, maybe it's just because it's the first of the new silhouettes? Besides the Dunk (for the most part) it is VERY confusing lol.
Gives me fc Barcelona vibes which I like because it’s my favorite team. I just picked up the monarch pair for the fall and I’m really tempted by these. If these had more of the velvet on the front of the shoe or midfoot panels i definitely would’ve pulled the trigger on these.
I think I may. I’m in the thought process of setting up my shoes in my studio… maybe I will then. It’ll be boring though! Haha I skate my shoes and don’t really cling to the heat
I’m not gonna lie… sneaker shipments have been getting nicked. A lot of Travis Scott’s were back doored & those who got them off SNKRS had delivery drivers also nick them.
Reminds me of like a gold leaf or gold flakes. I wonder if that's what they were going for. Maybe even like a crushed velvet, I don't know. I like 'em, but not for me! lol
@@DavidBluetile Oh, of course! Thank you, David. I totally missed that, but I do believe sometimes those facades have a texture to them, because of the wood grain, where some parts are shinier than others and it looks kind of mottled. Especially if power tools were used, it tends to rip out the grain. Btw, Glad to also see you're okay with all the hurricanes passing through the SE! I think you showed us a pic of a tree that fell over outside the shop on one of the recent videos. The most recent one was wild, 19 tornados! I also skated one of the ipaths recently, a pair of cricket lows in a hempy colorway that I always wanted (I think they're vegan too), and they were good but the outsole while beefy, also has a bit of a lattice structure instead of any solid midsole that I can discern. You can squeeze the sides of it and feel the lattice or remove the insole and feel inside the shoe. But I skated doing manuals and reverts in them because I don't think I wanna destroy them, but I also do wanna skate them a little bit. I got a hotspot on the cork material tripping over the same crack while doing nosemanuals lol. I love that the toebox is roomier than the dunk. My last pair of dunks got wet during shipping and they took a good while to break in after that! I also had to resist from throwing a kickflip in the shoes. I was having fun at least. I still need new everyday skate shoes soon since my sb dunks are nearing the end, and it'll probably be a suede dunk of some kind. I think I'd love something without the exposed phylon mid. The last ones had a rough suede that I really, really liked. When I first started to wear through the stitch and fold it looked like some sliced chocolate which was kind of welcoming for me, since I'm not too accustomed to thrashing expensive shoes yet lol
@@sickkicksalwaysglobal1433 you can wash the stain off, its the colors of the materials like the swoosh, toebox, laces, outsole they changed that look way worse now
This one is better I feel.. It's elegant. The sample was cool but I feel that black tar hit on the heel didn't work on that pair but it definitely would on this 1. Overall I really like the shoe and I don't know why but when I look at it, they make me think of the movie "Last Action Hero"
If there was more of the velvet material throughout the front part of the sneaker it definitely would’ve contrasted the colors better. Most of the fun is towards the back side.
@DavidBluetile yeah the Trocaderos are a great dunk, can't beleive they're just sitting here in the UK and already gone on sale. They are mega stiff though.. Struggle with SB dunks, some UK 10.5 fit fine, maybe a little tight on the width, and then some are just too tight borderline unbearable.. but then 11s fit ok on the width, but way too much length making the toe box feel all floppy 😂 might have to give the Forum ADV a go see if that's any better
I think all gum would have been terrible on this shoe. maybe a gum bottom but the outsole really only works in white I think... .or maybe that weird smear they had.
disagree on that. maybe a gum bottom but the white outsole is about the only thing I could imagine working on this shoe. full gum would have been muddy looking. white gum could work. full grey outsole? something weird like that could have worked.
