This one blew me away. Hopefully, they'll pair him with McAvoy and both can play their game together. And the next time teams try to nullify Mac, Zadorov might have something to say about it. EDIT: this guy really did a lot of research about Boston, the fans and the org. He cares. He's engaged. That's big!
@@El_Jim Bruins didn't over pay for third pair defense and also didn't over pay for a third line center Elias lindholm didn't like being a third center for Vancouver Elias lindholm didn't like how Vancouver use him . Vancouver didn't use Elias lindholm properly
I just watched the 8-minute highlight reel of Nikita's hits and I'm still laughing at the carnage he left in his wake. He's gonna have a lot of fans in Boston.
Love how he goes on about the way players talk all the time with eachother about their past teams and what theyre like. Famed Bruins culture snagged a couple more big boys this summer.
Welcome to Boston Nikita and the best fans in the league. Appreciate the love for Chara and respect the Big Z comment. Research on the Mass/Boston teams, love that and can tell he wants to be here. Love the hair ;-)
This guy is going to be amazing with the bruins. Chara type. And when someone runs the Bruins or hit someone with a cheap shot, they will think twice with z around. He is literally such a physical force, and he will be a beast in Boston.
Put this guy with lorhei and you got like 13 ft of ice covered at the blue line, put him with mcavoy and you got a bulldozer in front of the net, just an amazing pull for the B
Bruins management definitely decided that having 5 large and quality defenders wasn’t adequate. Sweeney’s staff could have gone for good value on a UFA winger to replace DeBrusk, but instead they confidently decided they want six stud or stud-lite defensemen on the roster. Zadorov, McAvoy, Lindholm, and Carlo makes an elite-tier top four, especially when Lohrei/Wotherspoon with Peeke is an average-at-worst bottom pairing.
he said goodbye and a post with his wife on his wife’s page like a month ago. It showed his stuff was being packed up and he was leaving his Vancouver apartment
This is a big win for the Bruins Elias will defintly help fill that top 6 role and Zadorov is the type of player who not afraid to fight hopefully he'll do better then what Maroon did and actually make the Bruins tough.
@@stevenmorrison5864 I hope so plus the Panthers got weaker as they lost some good players of there own already so we might have a chance at beating them next year.
This is what they’ve been missing since Chara retired. They haven’t been able to match the level of physicality in the playoffs. This is a great move. I don’t care about salaries, just get the best players you can! LFG
Great news and a happy day to be wearing my Bruins hoodie! Welcome to Boston big bad Ruskie! Now let's have you on the same D pair as Mac and that will be totally fire! Sad to lose Debrusk and Heinen, but this is huge like the man himself! P.S a total team guy never puts himself above others.
@@coreysghostglowmask8650 You know correct there. He was a playoff performer. After this comment I left I remembered back a few years ago where DeBrusk was a total primadonna "Increase my ice time or trade me." So then Bruce Cassidy leaves and wins a Stanley Cup after our biggest choke in history.
@@jasonkh4 BUF traded him at the rookie level; involved in the Ryan O'Reilly deal. CHI had him for a year. COL & CAL kept him around. VAN acquired him for the run. (He was brilliant in their recent playoff run.) And BOS swooped in and claimed him faster than a hobo on a ham sandwich. VALUE. Note: consider that some big guys flourish later and play longer.
@@SomeOne-uy4kj I’m a Flames fan, and we did NOT keep him around. The guy had his agent publicly demand a trade on the same night as Mike Vernon’s HOF pre-game ceremony, overshadowed the special night of one of the greatest to ever don the flaming C. Pretty fkn classless, if you ask me. As for his actual play, I was a huge fan of his early on, more offensively skilled than he gets credit for, but surprisingly clueless on the defensive end at times, rather low hockey IQ. Didn’t see enough of the good to warrant paying him what he thought he was worth, let alone play him in the top four. $5M is an overpay, only by about a mill, but still a lot for what is effectively a bottom pairing dman, regardless. I can actually see him doing well in Boston, if he buys into the system.
Bostons next big Z!!! Can't wait for season to start!!?? Guna be nice seeing Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov in the spoked B!!?? Let's bring the cup back to beantown!!!!
He’s almost 6’7 actually. Every site has him listed at 6 foot 6 but, he’s like a few centimeters from being 6’7. He’s arguably just as strong as chara was. he certainly hits more, chara was more of a skilled guy 2 way d man. This Nikita guy is more of a defensive defenseman, but he’s really strong. He plays great stay at home defense, and he hits and fights constantly.
Don't worry about trying to keep up with people like Zdeno Chara... That's a fantasy.. mostly hype. you don't need to be the oldest active player . You're on NHL ice and he isn't
get a ring in boston Z ... like chucky; bennett and lomburg did as ex-FLAMES and OEL as ex-CANUCK - be a bruin like vladamir konstantinov was a wing- crush them ...
Leafs fan here. You guys paid 6 mill for a third pair defenceman. Matthews is gonna make this guy look like a peewee player. Bum bruins win 1 cup and lose like 3 other finals. Pathetic franchise. 😅😂
@edited1325 one cup rigged finals. Lost the other 3 and they weren't even close. We have auston matthews the best player in nhl and you have overrated pastarnak. Bruins sucks 😆
I had my fingers crossed he wud sign with the Leafs! The media pumped this narrative so much during the season you wud almost think that it was a forgone conclusion. Boston got a hell of a player with this signing!
The market today is really strong. If you wanna player his capabilities, you have to pay a lot for it. 5 million is just about right for him, but the term is a long time I would’ve gone three years but, honestly defenseman age less than forwards do so it should be a good deal.
Canucks need defense and they give up the hest d man canucks had and sign more fowards lol so stupid hahaha. Already have overpaid fowards, forwards thats sign long deals and take the rest of the contract on a break. Lol another 10years for canuck fans of heart break lol. Fowards that cant perform then give up the only d man that can fight and score. Lol vancouver will suzz more this year. Vancouver will be a bottom team this coming year.
