Shinings music actually has an opposite effect on me, i love listening to it while working out. the opposite of self harm, actually self improvement.

I love his art but let's be honest, he's really self-aggrandizing here. Those people didn't harm themselves or kill themselves BECAUSE of his music. It's not like normal happy people killed themselves after listening to it, THAT would actually be the dramatic reaction he is talking about. Those people were most likely going to harm and kill themselves anyway but his music might have helped facilitate it or push them over the edge. Still an accomplishment, from his viewpoint, but his conclusion that his music affected them so deeply on a spiritual level to enact those behaviors is a bit much. Great artist, still.

Yup, this one's going in my cringe compilation.

I used to self hard but I realized it really was not necessary because it was not being able to communicate or feel feelings, so it just takes some effort of battling with emotions and expressing themselves without doing that. And as far as suicide goes, it really isn't necessary either to escape problems, because the problems may be challenging but the world always changes, and things always evolve, and work themselves out one way or another. Everybody will die, so I don't worry about it, try to forget, and forgive whatever its worth.

Shinning music is art, people who cause harming to themselfs aren't doing because of music but of themselfs. I like some Shinning musics and never thought of hurt myself. Depression need medical treatment, not ban a band or threaten them like accomplices of suicide.

I like to watch this every time I need a pick-me-up.

I can definitely say that Shining has inspired me to self harm. Definitely prob would have done it regardless either way, but many many times, I'd sliced myself up while listening to various Shining songs. 😂😂 I'd say yes, it definitely is pretty powerful art, like alot of DSBM is, but Shining has a "special" feel.. more than most others.

In order to actually do that, you have to lead by example. That's why Watain and Shining are not successful at it, but a band like "The Devil's Blood" is. "If I lead, will you follow..." It's really demented and honestly a bit pathetic to think this way, but hey, I don't judge man... This dude has seen some shit. We'd all be like him if we were him. Know what I mean?

Yeah I guess suicide is an answer to depression and what not but so is getting strong standing up and getting help. As a artist I'd rather help a person to live a good and happy life.

I like (the first half of) Shining's discography but Nik is the pinnacle of someone who can't let their art speak for itself, always has to do or say something cringe to sustain his "public image" lmao these ppl didn't kill themselves because of u Niklas, even if Shining helped them resolve that they wanted to commit suicide, who's to say they didn't encounter a better dsbm project that actually aided their suicidal tendencies after finding Halmstad on Spotify? lmao I want to like Niklas, I like his work, but he's nu metal and metalcore levels of cringe sometimes

The first time i heard the track "manipulation session" was the first time i felt fear in my gut when i was 15. Today I desire suicide more than ever, and I look to Shining/Niklas for encouragement to follow through with it. Im excited to say the least.

Would you not simply consider those that killed themselves weak, and those that benefited from your art strong? We're all monsters in some sense. Let someone attack our loved ones and if you were given freedom by legal authorities to do whatever you wanted to the parasite... Would you not turn them into an unrecognizable mass of meat? Don't lie to yourselves. We're all weak and strong as we have built ourselves up to be! And when that time comes to see whether we cower or stand up in the face of fear, we have only ourselves to remain subservient to!
