Yes, he's been depriving himself for years. His body craves fat. Maybe he'll find out there are healthy ways. I can imagine him being fed up with living "healthy"
Ikr! Seven years later, UV is healthy and happy, with a loving partner and healthy children and a positive channel that's a joy to watch. Meanwhile, Nikocado abused his long-term partner, badly neglected his "pet" sloth, and he currently looks like the absolute cliché of "Super-morbid obesity". I used to be obese too, but Nik has gotten obese on the deaths of countless animals, and many of his followers are just hate-watching, waiting to see when his hideous diet will become his end. . . unless he radically changes his diet, like I did. And many of his "Fat Positive" YT colleagues have already passed away. I hope Nik changes before it's too late. But he's become such a nasty person, I doubt he will.
Am I the only one who wonders how bad/dangerous mukbangs are to your body. Coming from someone who has struggled with binge eating a mukbang seems like a glorified binge.
Kai Klaarika A binge is different for everyone because usually it is to do with an individual's personal pain. That being said he does eat a lot more than I would consider a meal. It is also the way he eats the food and like many people on RU-vid who do mukbangs. When I binge I'm so happy/high i eat without tasting the food and I tend to eat lots in one go. Sometimes him and other youtubers eat like this when doing mukbangs they don't saver or almost enjoy their meal they just eating at immense speed like a lot of binge eaters do (they eat almost exactly the same as I do when I binge) It's also really damaging for your health. No ones stomach can cope with being stretched out in that short space of time and your electrolytes get so fucked up. I don't know the man but it really worries me the way he seems to do a mukbang everyday and how he eats. If he's doing a mukbang almost everyday there's no way he could be eating three meals a day, he would have to fast some of the day to save room for the mukbang and then he wouldn't be able to eat for hours after. And if he is eating "normally" after a mukbang he must be making himself sick in order to do so otherwise it's physically impossible. I know this may sound like a reach but I think mukbangs are so dangerous mentally/physically. I also don't understand how people watch them and don't find a problem with them. A mukbang is basically a glorified binge and it's so worrying that people make money putting their health at risk for others entertainment.
Kai Klaarika I also forgot to say that in my opinion even if someone is filming them self binge it's still a binge. I've binged in front of family members before without realising that doesn't mean it wasn't a binge just because I haven't locked myself away in private to do so. (Also I hope I don't come across hateful or that you think I'm having a go at you I just really hate mukbangs)
Ela Chapman yeah but you can do intermittent fasting to eat a large meal and lots of people prefer eating that way. Doesn't matter how many meals you have each day as long as you're getting right amount of calories and nutrients.
Shanene Larissa Give it a shot. Even if it's only one meal a day or one day a week. You've got nothing to lose. Especially if you are looking at it as something to try out. If you like it, keep going. If you don't, then dial it back a bit. Sometimes, that's a good way to transition.
Great video Swayze!! great points - Also you mentioned about the nutritionist/dietician title! Yes here in the UK we have "Registered Nutritional Therapists" which distinguishes a "proper" nutritionist with a degree or equivalent (similar training to a dietician) from those who have just taken a silly online course! (this is what I had to study for 4 years to become a registered NT)!! (oh and also Thank you for also promoting a Higher Fat vegan diet!!)
Unnatural Vegan What's tums? Kinda sorta not American. Kinda sorta living in Japan. Kinda sorta struggling with non dairy milks here because they just don't bother to supplement it at all like wow.
lilpeoplez Dude the strongest painkillers that Japan supplies to people are about 1/6 of the power of paracetamol. Probably exaggerating a bit, but still. Also a majority of the supplements I've seen here are "beauty supplements". They do have regular, like just normal, supplements but they're either combined with d3 or give way too few tablets. So far I've managed by eating Chinese cabbage, broccoli and unhulled sesame seeds. But I'd still prefer that little bit of insurance.
lilpeoplez Not interested in edamame, I'm afraid it'll bore me to tears. Majority of my protein comes from soybeans anyway (Tofu, soymilk, daizu, okara). Also nuts are just too crazy expensive. It's actually quite funny when I see vegan RU-vidrs be all like "here, I made a pasta bake with cashew cheese" and I sit there like "how are you not super poor? where is this magic money that you summon from in order to purchase these expensive nuts?" Plus I can't have peanut butter sandwiches anymore since 99% of Japanese bread contains either milk or butter.
Miss Anthropy "I was never Raw Til' 4." -Nick shortly before he changed up his channel format "I tried Raw Til' 4 for a few months." - Nick in his most recent video. 💤💤💤
+Parmetries he means "freelee's rawtill4" but when he went to thailand he eat raw until dinner but didn't follow her "rules" he explains in his mukbangs very clear
You sound so sane & refreshingly smart in such a direct comparison to Nick. I think you are the only vegan RU-vidr who doesn't speak out of their literal ass.
Dr. Greger's channel *Nutritionalfacts* also only follows scientific papers even though I feel like he himself is sometimes clingy. (Maybe it's just me being hypersensitive, his work is great in either way)
Rhian HY does mostly beauty-type videos, but she also covers other topics and sometimes she'll do a nice recipe video. She's vegan, and she seems quite chill and delightful. :-)
What scares me is that someone can be fully vegan for so long but doesn't understand the basic philosophical and ethical concepts. This dude's video is exactly why I get worried every time I meet a vegan who's doing it for health reasons. Not because it isn't healthy, but because they don't understand the most important important concepts about suffering and ethics, esp in the modern first world. Loved this video. Hopefully this channel becomes one of the popular vegan channels.
Sarah Boka It isn't that they don't understand it. It's that they don't agree. They comprehend why you hold an opinion regarding ethics but just because they understand it doesn't mean that they feel the same way.
MartianBlues That may be the case for some (very few I'd argue), but the arguments that this guy made in his video demonstrated a lack of understanding. Further, there are very few people in general who would simply disagree that animal cruelty is wrong or that needless killing is wrong. Most people freak out when they see a dog being mildly mistreated. The problem is logical inconsistency exacerbated by shitty social norms, not preference or opinion.
Im slowly transitioning to the vegan lifestyle, but solely for health reasons. I couldn't care less if someone wants to eat a hamburger or chicken or deer, etc. I see animals as inferior and if someone wants to hunt deer for a food source, then by all means..
Sara Boka The reason why people freak out seeing a dog mistreated but will eat chicken without a second thought is not a problem of a logical inconsistency but rather that we humans have problems relating to things we do not see ourselves. There is a quite famous thought experiment explaining this; You are on a high-speed train. In front of the train in the distance on the tracks are 5 people who you will hit and kill if you continue in the same direction. In order to save these people, you'll have to pull a lever that will make the train chance course onto another track. On this track is a person too. Just one though. You've less than 2 seconds to decide, will you pull the lever? Most people will and they will make this decision fast and without guilt. This is normal. Now consider this; You are on the side of the tracks, a train is coming with high speed and will hit and kill 5 people. In front of you is a really big person, big enough to stop the train if you'd push this person onto the tracks. Would you give this person a hard shove? Think about it and make a decision. Well, if you're like most people alive you'd have a lot more trouble making this decision, taking an actual second to make up your mind. This is normal and supposed to be this way. Only people lacking empathy make both decisions with the same speed and ease. Now how is this related to people having no problem with eating meat but can't stand seeing a puppy being murdered? It is the same exact thing. Witnessing a thing and/or participating first-hand makes it personal and therefore people will get upset. With most supermarket meats no one ever sees or has to participate in the slaughtering and cleaning of the animal. This makes it nearly impossible to feel actual empathy towards the animals as individuals. Despite how bad this sounds, this is emotionally healthy human behavior. People who do kill their own meat usually have learned how to compartmentalize and prevent themselves from projecting themselves on the animal. Again, this is also healthy human behaviour. The fact that we farm and eat chickens but not dogs is completely cultural, however. People with pet chickens will often have no problem eating supermarket chicken. People in general, with or without dogs, will object to eating dogs.
Add Caption Here you said his issues was because of a vegan diet. I find that misleading, it’s almost grouping all vegan diets in this. If he had eaten a vegan diet correctly - he would have been fine. Technically yes he was eating a vegan diet but it was his diet that was the issue not veganism. I hope that makes sense?
Can you do a video explaining a well rounded vegan diet? It feels silly having to ask but with so much misinformation its hard to fully comprehend what that entails.
it's the same as a regular well rounded diet minus animal products. research how much protein, fat and carbs a person of your height/weight should eat and model your diet off that
I live in Japan, so we eat a base of brown rice and legumes (we often put rice and azuki beans in the rice cooker, and we also eat a lot of fermented soy) for carbs and protein. Then the veggies for vitamins, nuts&seeds for omega3, and a b12 supplement (it has been recently discovered that duckweed contains b12, so it may be a good option for those who hate supplements). I've been a vegan since I was a kid, and never thought much about it, but if you're consuming enough calories and getting some variation on the veggies you eat, I believe you should be OK.
Even if the doctor was right about that part, apes and most of bigger primates are onmivores. So fuck that doctor. But knowing Nick, said doctor was most likely a creation of his mind.
@@agdalanzarini8974 or they said "you're a primate - an ape..." In other words, you're an omnivore, but he misremembered. I'd say it's still more likely he made the whole thing up, though.
i thought there was a water drop or a sneeze spot on my monitor for the entire video...then i tried to wipe it off and realized its just a tiny dent in her wall....god dammit
Watching your videos definitely makes me think of changing some things. I don't think I am ready for going completely vegan (and I'm not sure I want to), but I am definitely wanting to remove a lot of animal products from my diet. Unnatural Vegan, you make it a lot less daunting to embrace this change. Send me good vibes, everyone!
Stefani Ruiz Good for you. Even if you don't go vegan; a reduction in animal products makes a difference. My sister spells her name the way you do. Mi mama es Mexicana. So that explains the spelling.
Hi Swayze! I used to eat a very strict hclf vegan diet. Of course, I lost some weight...BUT I also lost my period for almost a year and was always hungry and unsatisfied after eating a huge meal. Some time ago, I switched to a "normal" or more balanced vegan diet and I feel sooo much better! My digestion is normal again, I (finally!) gained my period back and I'm not always hungry all the time. Your videos played a big part in the change I made, so I like to thank you for that. Keep on doing your thing! You're awesome! Greetings frome Germany. :)
THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING TO HIM! His video was a sobbing mess to say the least... Instead of making asinine arguments against veganism, he should pinpoint the nutrients he feels he's missing and adapt his diet. He complains about feeling unhealthy, yet he gorges on processed food....
It's unbelievable how much sense you make compared to most other vegan you tubers! I learn so much from you, you actually know what your talking about :)
I used to watch him back in the time when he was vegan, he seemed so happy and fun back then. I lost interest in his channel when he gave up being vegan, and seeing him now, in 2020, it's really sad.
I've noticed a few people commenting about that in his other videos too. Just an over all feeling of over-the-top. However, I have seen a video he posted when he was away from Orlin for three months and it was the exact same as this. I felt bad because I was laughing for a while watching it not realising that that is just how he cries. I thought it was a satire..:/
Hayley Croke I totally agree - making any major life change based on moral and ethic can wreak havoc on a person, but I do think he is making too big of a deal out of this without taking the most simple approach. He needs to fix what he is currently eating. Every day he posts videos (sometimes twice a day) of massive meals of nothing but processed, chemically refined foods. Fake cheese, mock-meats, refined grains (pasta) and deep fried fast food. No one could be healthy and happy on a diet like that regardless of being vegan or not. He needs to fix that before blaming his current state on being vegan. He talks about vitamin deficiencies, well no wonder when he only eats the same three things over and over - white pasta, fake cheese, simulated meat. Hopefully Unnatural Vegan can help point him in the right direction :)
Fortified mock meats are actually pretty good for you, in moderation. In Australia we have a brand which is all fortified with B12, Zinc...and I can't recall the other one/two. Of course eating them in them in excess is bad, like Nik did, but I have mock meats once or twice every two to three days with my meals :)
The one problem I had with this whole situation and it's hard to explain and he kind of touches on it in his video but like you can't force someone to be vegan. No one was holding a gun to his head saying BE VEGAN. I mean, especially since he's in the public eye, it could be embarrassing to be like nevermind all of a sudden but you made the choice to make yourself a public person. I could care less if this guy is vegan, I'm sure some of his vegan fans are upset or disheartened that he decided to quit but nobody was forcing him to do anything and that's what is frustrating about this.
My Name Is Liz you can eat and still have an eating disorder do your research an eating disorder can affect your relationship with food how you feel when eating not just anorexia where you just dont eat
marisol Del Castillo I've experienced an eating disorder and felt different about it. I shouldn't have projected my experience I suppose but did he even mention anything of that sort in the video? If he did I missed it. That's why I said I don't know if that's true.
simpzzi R Yeah - I _really_ don't have any reason to criticise Gandhi... OTOH, this may be of interest to some: www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/02/25/why-to-many-critics-mother-teresa-is-still-no-saint/?.d2949f7813b5
The self-serving congratulatory tone accompanying the ability to point out the shortcomings of others truly breeds nothing but hate and hopelessness. Perhaps even the ripple effect she started by being recognized as a beacon of hope is enough to deserve acknowledgment, even if it inspired just one person to go out of their way to do a little bit more than usual. To what standard is one to hold themselves, if nowadays even just giving spare change to the homeless without saying a world is commendable, yet taking abandoned babies and the dying off the streets is to be frowned upon? If that be the case, I would hate to be judged by your standards. Hope everyone here has a great day.
Celeste D Try to cook in a caste iron skillet. It can help fortify your diet with iron. That coupled with a supplement should help. Good luck to you 👍🏾
This guy doesn't deserve any advice. I think this was a great video. Nik is a drama queen and he loves the attention and the money/views he is getting on the 2 videos he uploaded bashing veganism.
I used to watch all of his videos, but I agree. His latest videos are so disingenuous and over-dramatic. Right after he commented thanking UV for her response.. He goes and uploads a clickbait sobbing cringe fest. Ugh.
Watching this in 2019 and I think it’s really interesting he says that he doesn’t understand people who eat 5 cheeseburgers a day, and how bad it is. Because he eats more than that in a day now
I don't get why some people find it so difficult. I haven't used salt in forever, I eat 100% whole food plant based vegan other than the odd bowl of cereal... It's easy as fuck. I genuinely don't get it.
Steve Steven I'm vegan too, but where do you get your iodine from? I eat iodized salt, but recently a pharmacist who works with a PhD pharmacologist told me that iodine is in too low amounts in salt, and the amounts in seaweeds are unpredictable. He told me I should buy his iodine supplement pills, but I don't know if I should believe him, since I know he's trying to sell me stuff. Years ago I would drink a glass of water with a single drop of iodine in it that would drop myself from a bottle of iodine supplement I bought at a health food store.
Moondog half a teaspoon of salt would get you enough iodine, the only problem with seaweed is you might get to much and of course the cyanide in seafood in general, but it takes a lot before that becomes a problem. The harved study your doctor was talking about mainly concerned americans on SAD who already get to much salt from processed food and instead of saying they should cut back and only get salt from a home cooked meal, suggest getting iodine from seafood and multivitamins.
Moondog that's true, but the authors didn't seem to think people would cut back enough on that non-iodized salt containing food and adding any salt(even iodized salt) was therefore too much of a risk. I simply disagree with this point, and think you should be honest to your patients and therefore tell them not to eat any junk food, still adding where else to get iodine from, their patients might just not like salt or insist on not listening to their doctor, which only works if the doctor isn't condescending.
This is why im like 80% vegan, which really isnt vegan I don't eat meat but I eat trace amounts of animal products in bread etc and will eat cheese only all other dairy is replaced by nut milks. Well aware this isn't probably sufficient but whatever.
Not everyone goes 100% vegan right away. Most people cut out animal products little by little and every little bit helps. Once people make the change, though, they tend to wish they had done it sooner. That is how I feel.
I love the fact that you admitted that we are omnivores! I also love your love for animals and not contributing to that industry (which is so different to killing and eating our own animals out of survival) thank you for being a level headed vegan!!
I'm unfortunately currently an ex-vegan (I'm vegetarian currently with loose restrictions on dairy and eggs, I know, I'm sorry cows and chickens) and his arguments are total nonsense. Just because you want to eat meat and some animals eat it doesn't mean that that makes it okay and ethical. Like what? Also just because there are smart omnivores doesn't mean that they're immune to ghastly logical fallacies. I can understand eating meat due to apathy, but trying to justify it is just wow so interesting.
I think it's important that non-vegans speak up in favor of veganism. Your pro-vegan message might be better received than if a vegan expressed it. I can imagine someone thinking "Hmm, even people who eat animal products recognize that it's unethical, so maybe there is something to it after all". Most of us (unless we're dishonest) do things that we think are unethical sometimes; even (gasp) vegans are guilty of this. The point is not to reach any baseline, but to continuously seek out ways one can improve. That's what veganism means for me.
How is it any less ethical then from a lion killing a zebra? (Also don't bring up those slaughter houses where cows being kept in spaces smaller then their body. Where I live, most cows live free range or at least are fed grass from the ground, so please have that mindset) I do not mean to antagonize a vegan diet, I'm just confused as to why people think simply eating meat is unethical.
RabbitLovesYou because unlike lions we do not need meat to survive or even thrive. We only eat meat because it tastes good. By killing animals for food we are causing a lot of unnecessary harm to sentient life forms that can perceive pain and suffering.
Apart from complete lack of necessity to consume meat, there's also moral agency at play here. How is raping, murdering, and killing one's step children less ethical than lions doing it to each other? Precisely because we can *recognize* the harm and its undesirability. It is inconsistent to use the "lions" argument in some contexts while rejecting it in others. It should be rejected all over because it's really just an appeal to nature fallacy in disguise. RabbitLovesYou
Speak for yourselves. Many of us who quit being vegan/vegetarian and went back to eating meat didn't do it because we just like how it tastes. We did it because we feel healthier including it in our diets. The paleo community is full of people trying to recover their health and vitality after years, sometimes decades, on plants-only diets that left us overweight, feeling sick and miserable, or dealing with chronic illnesses and digestive problems. And no, not everyone who fails to thrive on such diets simply "did it wrong." Different bodies, different needs.
youtube recommended me this video, propably beacuse i watched some drama videos about nick. its so wild to watch this with our current... um... knowledge
nick should look up to you as a person who does enough research about their diet to not cry crocodile tears in front of his audience just to trigger people.
Clearly he wanted fame and money. Based on his brief messages with Freelee before he did this she apparently mentioned some stuff about Trisha Paytas (and she is obviously a popular junkfood binge eater who has controversy too) so it's not surprising this was the outcome, I think that if being a vegan had given him the same level of popularity on youtube he has now then he would have stuck to being a rawfood vegan even if that led to bad health too. I'm pretty sure the only reason he's a morbidly obese muckbanger still now is because of the views it gets him. I can't say if he started out with better intentions but It's definitely clear he wanted the same fame/money other rawfoodists enjoy by the point he made this video. I can say this for him at least, I don't exactly blame him for buckling with the vegan eating, I've caved a few times because of poor eating habits, when your body is crying out for calories and you limit your choices too much then shitty, unethical food starts to look damn tasty. Eating properly and enough to curb those feelings is vital to keep on the vegan train long term.
I admire how you have discussions with other youtubers rather than calling them out and attacking them. You truly are the best vegan role model I have found and I recommend you to anybody questioning veganism.
Coming back to this video to laugh at Nikocado ditching veganism for ~health and then proceeded to eat himself to 400 pounds on nothing but meat and cheese. SO HEALTHY GET THOSE NUTRIENTS NIKOCADO
I just came across his videos, and no shade or anything but he’s going from one extreme with how he eats to another. That cannot be good for your body :/
Hey, I have hypothyroidism and I've been vegan for 2 years- What have been your findings regarding being vegan with this condition? I seem to have trouble absorbing nutrients from food which is a pain - I do supplement with B12 and some others. Just wondered what your opinion was? :)
I feel like I read somewhere that iodine is important for thyroid-related things? I know it’s included in the multivitamin I take, so might be important to take a multi. But best thing to do is seek professional medical advice from a doctor and certified nutritionist :)
I noticed that - in drugstores - the supplements' doses have been increased a lot (at least for vitamin D and B12 which I take) while the price per package stayed about the same. Surely this didn't happen because of the oh so many vegan customers...
here i am commenting on the smallest most insignificant part of the video (i agree with everything else you pointed out and you did gret job delivering the facts!) one argument against eating eggs from rescue hens is that they lose so many key nutrients when laying eggs and therefore the only right way to use their eggs is to crack 'em in pan, throw in some dark leafy greens, make an omelette and give it to the hens! :) hens used to eat their unfertilized eggs before but now they never get to keep them. D:
LitcheTheArsm They would lay the eggs regardless of whether or not you used them though. And if you weren't there, they wouldn't be getting your omelette so it wouldn't make any difference if you took them. (I'm not arguing that anyone should actually eat eggs. Frankly, I hate eggs)
they would probably start eating them since that's what they're supposed to do? and if you keep rescue hens, the whole point is that you take care of them and are supposed to provide them proper nutrition. idk a more cheap and easy way to make sure they don't end up deficient.
LitcheTheArsm If there is a rooster around then the eggs would get fertilized and wouldn't be eaten. That's the point I'm making. You could feed your chickens a number of foods to replenish nutrients without them eating the eggs.
ofc only if there's no rooster around (and i don't understand why a vegan would want to breed farm animals..) i said it's the cheapest way. (: since they're making the food themselves.
I think you are a great source of fact and a non judge mental attitude on RU-vid . I'm a vegetarian who eats mostly vegan but I appreciate videos like this. Thank you for the great content
All these ex-vegans have one thing in common. They apparently tried all the vegan diets. RT4, 80/10/10, fully raw etc. , but they haven't tried to just eat a normal balanced vegan diet that contains enough calories and nutrients.
Kerry MacIver replacement means. if I crave meat, which I do. I have some tofurkey. it's amazing and almost taste like actually turkey. but it's cruelty free yay lol. replacement meats have been very good for me when I quit eating meat. good luck!
Thanks for this. I tried watching his original video (it was late and it kept showing up in the suggestions) and I'm glad you took the time to not only watch, but to respond in such a mature, calm matter.
Thank you for breaking this down - it was super informative. Especially since I'm currently trying to make sure I'm eating the proper nutrients (I started losing weight after going vegan) to sustain my lifestyle.
Regarding eating cooked food, I am not sure if you have looked at the work of Richard Wrangham, the primatologist from Harvard, he wrote "Catching Fire: How cooking made us human."My undergraduate degree is Pre-med University of Washington with a degree in Anthropology; so this discussion is interesting to me. A very interesting book which discusses how the digestive tract of humans changed over time with the introduction of cooked foods. Regarding "cleanses," I do prescribe them and find them helpful, but I really see them as a way of jump starting someone on a junk food diet towards a healthier lifestyle. A "cleanse," as I use the term, means eating a whole foods plant based diet. The diet is "cleaner" than the average American diet.
Passive diffusion of B12 works just as well as injections, in fact, some studies show that taking several milligrams of B12 and getting through passive diffusion was better at correcting B12 defiecency. Just take 5mg a week, and you are all set. Preferably a mix of Adenosyl/ Methyl B12.
This is really really good advice. I've had two children and put on quite a bit of weight but during this time I was transitioning to veganism and also staying vegan with the second baby. With the desire to lose weight I often would fall back into these vegan diets that claim all of these great changes if you just stick to it. It was a really big struggle in trying to breastfeed, raise children, study, try to find time to exercise and have enough energy from lack of sleep. Now I'm just eating a really normal vegan diet, watching my portions but eating enough and getting more sleep. I walk our dog, go for a run once a week and am eating balanced. The weight is coming off at a good rate and I don't have to follow these restrictive vegan diets that always left me feeling like I wasn't trying hard enough; and the results would come eventually... Now I just feel normal and can enjoy my food, my kids and our lives.
I’ve been vegan for over a year now and videos like this are what help me stay on it. No harsh judgment, just education and facts. I learn something new each time I watch your videos. I have found if I take the same approach when I talk to others they are more receptive to what I have to say. My parents both have cut down on their meat consumption and they have both been losing weight. My mother is vegetarian now and is cutting down on her dairy consumption. She has diabetes and after a decade of crazy blood sugar levels she has them under control. Anecdotal, but it’s encouraging her and that’s all that matters to me. So thank you!
Your videos have taught me so much. Im currently a vegetarian and have been for a year and a half. You've helped me avoid the wrong people, and brought "balance" into my diet. I appreciate you so much ❤️
Actually it isn't bullshit. Wild plants are very different to the domesticated varieties we eat today. Any proper vegetable gardener like myself continues this process which has been going on for a few thousands of years. Basically you collect seed from the best plants with the characteristics you want each year and that overtime changes the plants towards those characteristics. For example originally bananas were full of large seeds. They have been selectively bred now not to and are now at a point they have no seeds so have to be grown from cuttings instead
i watched a million videos from a million different vegan you tubers for a long time before i decided to become vegan myself. it’s been about 6 years now and truly you’re the ONLY vegan youtuber with any sort of realistic views on veganism. thank you. you deserve a hell of a lot more credit than you get!!!
I'm so glad you made this reply. He has mentioned you in his newer video. You should respond to his new one as well, he seems to try to use your own words against you.
Hey swayze! I really wanted to thank you for making this video, it cleared up a lot of doubts that were getting hold of me. Now, i am not a vegan but i am looking into it. I do not mean to bash nick by saying this, but his points did get to me and made me wonder what is really right or wrong foodwise. I think diets such as rawtillfour or the potato diet and whatnot are basically bs, but i would really find insightful for you to do a video talking about vitamin K2 for example. I am also really looking forward to your DHA and EPA video. THANK YOU for your time and have an awesome day :)
Honestly, I am in love with you channel. I’m not vegan (at this moment in time), but your no bullshit, balanced approach to Veganism makes me want to become vegan at some point. I’m in college, i have an extremely high metabolism (genetics) so I require calorically dense meals in order to maintain a healthy weight, and I have very limited time to cook and make sure I am getting all the nutrients I need. Eating an omnivore diet is what will allow me to be my healthiest (at the moment). (Assuming climate change doesn’t wipe us all out soon), I eventually would love to try a balanced vegan diet like the one you promote. My metabolism will start to slow down a little bit when I get older, and I hope I will have more time to cook and make sure I am getting all my nutrients in.
Thanks for replying to his video! I saw that one and wasn't sure what to think. What are your thoughts on Institute for Integrative Nutrition? I went there years ago. What do you think about fermented foods? Ayurveda? Macrobiotics? TCM Five Element Theory? Body Ecology? I saw the U.S. News & World Report said best diets of 2016 were DASH, TLC, and MIND. Also it'd be so cool if you wrote a cookbook. Thanks so much for the videos and happy holidays.
Great video! Been vegan for almost 2 years and never had a B12 shot. I just use nutritional yeast plus some store bought food already has B12 added as even meat eaters can be deficient :D
Shell Bell Yeah, I don't use shots either, yeast flakes and fortified milks. I do use a vegan multivitamin, but not for the b12, even though it has b12 in it.
corsican lulu I don't have a deficiency in B12 so what I'm doing must be working. My son (who does not eat nutritional yeast) also had blood tests and his results were with all normal ranges . Must be because of the other B12 fortified foods I'm guessing :)
What I love and appreciate about all of your videos, are how well thought out and researched they are...you calmly and patiently go point by point on every issue and explain and at times show documented research to back up what you are saying...when I see videos like this, that are so precise, I feel I can easily compare and make healthier decisions for myself...thank you so much for your wonderful channel and to care enough to help others like you are doing....many blessings...Deb XO
