Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets beat the Phoenix Suns 97-87 in Game 2 to go up 2-0 in their series. Jokić had a game-high 39 points and 16 rebounds. Devin Booker and Kevin Durant combined for 59 points but KD shot 10-of-27 overall and 2-of-12 from three. Normally a series only begins after game 2 but after seeing how gassed the suns were in the 4th in both game I believe they will lose every game in Denver. KD and Dbook play the highest minutes in the playoffs rn and in that mile high altitude they simply can’t keep up. Cp3 already on his way to a retirement home in Cancun and DA won’t play like a #1 pick should so….. nuggs in 5.

Watching the game, and not seeing a lot of Nuggets games outside the playoffs, it's amazing how scared players are on offense going near the basket because of Jokic. His defense, and the threat of his size, is so huge. Only the Warriors with their outside shooting are a serious threat to the Nuggets imo. But with how big all the other Nuggets starters are, I'm not sure how big of a threat they pose.

This Suns team despite all the winning with KD in the lineup, they lack in bench production or getting any help from Ayton. They lack in defence and holding leads. CP3 is old and could be out for this series with his injury and KD and Booker have to carry. As you saw in the first round, they struggle against the Clippers with no Kawhi and PG and keep making the game close despite only five games. Nuggets look the better team and Jokic is just abusing Ayton where he can attack the paint or made shots over him. If the Suns can't tied the series at home and get swept, they might to have look at the roster thinking about if the KD trade will work in the long-run.

Nuggets are so underrated defensively. Bruce Brown has been the 3rd most impactful player in this series thus far because with him out there, they don’t even have to play worry about trappibg or doubling Durant because he has done a phenomenal job on him. This is where the Clippers lost because they were daring Booker to go for 40 fully focused on Kevin. The Nuggets ain’t doing that. They daring Book and KD to go one on one and they just can’t. The drop coverage possessions Book was getting in the Clippers series ain’t there. They ain’t getting open 3s and Denver’s offense is so good that they can live with those deep 2s any day because the Nuggets can get it from anywhere. You have Jamal who can get his own shot that can drive inside and make off-balance 3s. MPJ hasn’t even been that good this series and we know he can erupt for 35 with 6-7 threes made from the corner, which he led the league in efficiency by the way. Aaron Gordon can take it to the inside and Jokic is just the ultimate killer. There is no answer for him because you can’t leave him open from 3, you can’t double him because he rarely makes mistakes and other players can take advantage of that not to mention how he’s so good inside the paint and from short 2 point jumpers. And the pick and roll between him and Jamal is unstoppable when Jamal is feeling himself.

As a KD fan I’m not gonna lie; I’d hate to see him get swept twice in the playoffs, but even if he does he will always be my favorite player no matter what.
