An example of Nikola Jokic's great processing speed, figuring out the counter to the Heat blitzing the Nuggets' empty corner pick-and-roll instantly during Game 4 of the Finals. #nba
Agreed. It also starts from a willingness to assist for others. A lot players can put in similar hours but if emphasis is on getting their’s, they can never process the game the same way.
That right there is some beautiful basketball, this is what professional basketball is supposed to look like! The communication between jokic and Gordon after the error Gordon made by not cutting, next play and same play this time cut inside leaving mpj open in the corner for the 3!! Flawless!
Jokic is the 7ft Larry Bird....2" taller, 50# heavier. He is everything Sabonis was hyped to be in the 80s , everything Bill Walton hoped he could be.and more than he ever was(although prime walton was a much better shot blocker). Jokic is an example of a 2nd ROUND draft pick that will be a Hall of Famer. Drafted 41st...... clearly there weren't 40 guys better in that draft. GMs SUCK!
Slow or fast doesn't bring anything to basketball. It is the game of moment, there is no amount of speed that can help u when i put my feet or shoulder in front of u, it is that simple... Strength, speed or agility is just there to help u , not to play on it.... U play with brain and spaceing... Little tips from Serbia for u 😉... Look for Dejan Bodiroga to understand it better, u can even watch him play against NBA players and teams, and hw never wanted to play in NBA.... One of the best in the world of all time 😉
him being slow doesn't affect his game at all. that's why no one talks about it. you, however, only sees the bad because you're hater and you're too stupid to see past his speed.
@russelramos8688 Are you kidding? The Joker is the system, with him out there I bet that the team doesn't even get out of the first round. Bigger faster stronger is said by clowns that don't know shit about basketball.
Porter is never the problem on this play. 41 percent three point shooter. Aaron Gordon is the guy that needs to flash strong side for the pass. Then the next pass is to porter in the corner. If they're both in the dunker spot, Strus can still cover the pass to either of them. Porter's spacing is fine here.
I know, for a fact that Kobe probably would have loved to play with joker in fact is the list of absolutely legends that will probably love to play with him and play against him
Being a pg and being a vocal is one part. The other part is having the guys with half a brain understand the things you see far ahead of em. Don’t even start with people who can’t catch a damn ball and finish.
See this is why I hate when people who don't understand the game make videos like this bcuz they create unrealistic narratives. Jokic did not process this in that 1 moment this comes from film study and constantly putting in the work to be a great player. This didn't happen overnight. This took time to build third knowledge up from studying film day after day after day and understaffed coverages and how teams not just the Miami heat choose to guard him.
To be fair, at the NBA pro level, basketball really isn't all that complex. That's not an insinuation that it's easy by any means. But, it's not complicated.
It is complicated tho, the X and O. The tactic counter. If you played like bad coaching team, maybe. But if you get like someone who good at X and O, it will be a tough game
I think its not a second that he knows everyhting at hand..i dont believe that..they studied that in a week..its just that the heat adjusted and jokic and his team countered effectively..
Narrator: Half a second to figure it out.. Also narrator: flash forward to third quarter... The heat ran that multiple times in between....show us the in between
Ok bro imma be real. You don’t know ball. You don’t blitz in basketball, there is no such thing as defensive coverage in basketball. They’re simply doubling off of screens and the help man denies the closest open player to the ball. Whenever you double one player another player is open somewhere. It’s that simple. You can always beat a press by passing. Simple.
@@lotennaokeke3414i try to make him new face of nba?no.i follow nikola for 12 yers now.i am from serbia.and i guarantee that hi first dont want something like that.and people who like him knows that, and thay(me) just dont care about that.he give us title plus hi is best player on world.who cars is he gonna be on some nba commercial.and that is the part of 'basketball' thats he hate. Not the game. So who try to make him new face of nba i dont know really..maybe NBA?
If you play the game, it is not remarkable to see that. The remarkable thing is, only Jokic saw that. That is why I do not like today's NBA. Basketball becomes dumb.
Thank you! I'm not saying Jokic isn't great, but this says more about Gordon, who's not a great shooter, instinctualy stays in the corner. It's not like it's some magical clearvoyant seeing things before they happened. he's telling Gordon get his head out of his ass and cut! (remember Denver 3 on 1 fast break at the end of a game down 1? And all 3 ran to the 3pt line? 🤦🏾♂️) You can say he's a 7ft Larry Bird, the difference is Larry teammates already knew wtf to do. That's why it was so beautiful to watch because it's was fluid movement. Ever see Larry passing out to a teammate for a 3?McHale, Parish, DJ, Ainge... they cut. Under the basket. Teams used to do this all the time... The Spurs? 90s Bulls, 80s Celtics, 70s Knicks... It's Basketball.. you know, "moving without the ball?" This clip is an indicator of modern basketball and how players have it ingrained to stay behind the 3pt line. People say Jokic is amazing! Reality is, he plays the game how it used to be played. the way it should be played.
What? Bron and steph both have great teams as well. The warriors had the same 2022 team that won the chip and Bron beat that team with AD playibg better than him. On top of reaves vanderbilt rui etc
