Nikon D5600 Review - Watch Before You Buy 

I kinda feel you should start your Nikon camera reviews with "I'm a Canon guy but today I'm going to review a Nikon". Then the rest of the review you do kinda makes more sense to me. Nice review but the bias comes through.

I own the Nikon D5500 and it is great for street photography and travel photography. And portraits.

I have been using this camera for years. It is really good. It has TONS of features packed into a small format. You can even hook a giant 70-200mm VR FX lens to it and it works perfectly. It also works superb wide angle. I really like this camera.

Great review (and your audio was fine on my iPhone). My wife already had a Nikon D3000 my dad gave her, with some lenses, so when we stepped up, the 5600 was a logical choice in that price range. She loves her 5600! We also bought additional lenses and do mostly scenery and wildlife photography (she is an artist and is always looking for images to paint.) l decided I liked this model too, so now we each have a D5600 body and several lenses to share - very convenient to keep a long and a short lens on the bodies when we are on outings together. We live in the wilderness in SW Colorado and have lots of wildlife, scenery, etc. We do have occasional times when the autofocus “hunts” a bit, but not usually an issue. We do very little video, but it’s not bad for amateur work and family memories. We have had and used many cameras over the years and I am really Impressed with this camera in this price range. Thank you for the review! Love that this camera has wifi and flip screen. I loove editing photos so Nikon has always been my go to for photography. For videos I always you GoPro when I’m traveling. Also thanks for getting go each point right away☺️😊

5600 is polycarbonate/ 5300 is magnesium alloy. 5600 +200 shots per battery. 5300 has GPS/5600 doesn’t.

Hey, so I'm currently trying to choose between D5600 Nikon and 7T Canon . I've looked at specs and they're are so similar . I'm just beginning but, I have some money to spend on a decent camera and have chosen to skip the d3500 and lower end canons. I'd like to add that I don't know how to edit photos... yet but am willing to learn.

I have the D5300 & @ 3:56 in this video you said that the SD card on the D5300 goes underneath where the battery goes & that's not true. My Nikon D5300 SD card in on the right side, exactly where you just pointed it out on the D5600. I just wanted to mention that because what you said is misleading.

half of the video You were talking about how this camera is not for filming. I get it it's not, but how about showing some picture examples rather than video which obviously this camera is not meant for? You could have talked about the best lenses and photo possibilities with it!

nice review, although "the extra cylinder in your car that you never use" is probably the most far-fetched example you could find :) Also audio in the video is quite low; not sure if that was an issue just for me

What good is a camera if you have to edit the pictures in order to get good colors etc

I typically see the D5600 with a VR telephoto lens, while the D5300 typically isn't sold with one. I once read that if one is going to consider a camera, don't bother with a non-VR telephoto lens. What do you think? I was impressed enough with the d5300 review, then I saw this one and was sold up until you said it was not for amateurs on vacation, where I am looking for a camera to challenge me and grow into.

I just bought my D5600 a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to be at NY Fashion Week this sunday. What would you consider to be the ideal Focus or Autofocus settings while filming/photographing models on the runway? I will be doing photos AND videos. As far as the videos, when the models come forward, I would like the camera to not "noticeably" hunt for the correct lock focus from model to model.

9:26... you should research volume normalization. It's pretty handy in video editing.

Can you print directly to a printer from the camera using wifi? Does the camera has a print button?

You say a few times that the 5300 doesn't have an articulated screen, but it does? It's not touch screen but is articulated.

How do you feel about the Canon 77D in 2019 (Black Friday)? There’s some great deals right now, but a lot of people tell me to switch to mirrorless. It’s just that this camera is so affordable right now, and I think 24 megapixels is good enough for large prints, what I do.

I wouldn't call a $699 camera entry level but im far from an expert... unless your taking photos for CBS or FOX News this Camera will do just fine for any occasion IMO

I am looking to buy my first dslr camera and I found this camera for 550 with an 18-55mm lens and for 700 with an 18-55mm plus a 70-300mm lens. Which one should i get?
