He kept referring to channels A & B. They are actually groups. The channels are numbered, not lettered. He corrected that partway through, but it could have confused someone new to the system.

You don't need three of these. Buy one SB700 and use with two Youngnu 580EX II...perfect set up. See Gary's video on those...

Gary, great video. I have a Q, I have the SB700 and want to trigger it wirelessly by using a Elinchrom Transmitter Pro on the Fuji Camera hotshoe, and a Elinchrom Skyport Receiver Plus attached to the SB700. Should I set my SB700 switch onto Remote then say using Manual mode on the SB700 (I don’t use TTL), then ensure my SB700 setting are the same as the attached Skyport Receiver Plus e.g. Group B and Channel 1. Or is that not correct? Grateful for your advice please.

hello, I am in possession of two SB-700s and a nikon D810, time I set the pre-flashes to eliminate red eyes, but now I'm not able to remove this setting, I don't understand if I have to change something on the flash or on the camera. could you help me?

Gary - Do you have information regarding the RadioPopper - I currently have a 700 but looking to add 1-2 flashes/with stands, to a wedding venue. I dont know if I should keep the 700 and use the radio popper? or retire the 700 and work with two 900/910's and pocket wizards? - to be honest, I don't know where to start with this off camera flash stuff and I'm losing my mind on the internet.

i have godox x1 transmitter, godox t685 and sb700. when i set this two flash become slave, only godox t685 which response...did i need x1 receiver for sb700 or can i set sb700 as ordinary slave as S1 or S2 like other third party flash ?

Hello! thanks a lot for this video, so useful. i wonder if you can help with a problem please. i have the SB700 and a nikon D7200, i following all the steps to configure the SB700 in external mode, and it's ok, but i can't deactivate the integrate flash in my camera. the SB700 works but the camera flash always flashes. the current mode on de camera settings is " built in flash / - - " and continue firing. what can i do? i hope you can help me Thanks

The built in flash is what is controlling your SB700 via a series of rapidly communicating bursts. You must have the on-board flash enabled in order for your remote flash to "see" and "communicate" the proper exposure settings.

hi. I have the sb700 and I try to make the background turn green or yellow with the filter gels that comes with it but the white background stays white no matter what I do. any tutorial on that?

You'll need to 1) lock in a WB balance so the camera doesn't try to correct for it like in AWB, and 2) adjust the power of the flash in relation to your main light. With gels, less power actually creates a darker tone. More power will wash it out and make it look white.

Hi Gary, I have an SB 700 and a Flashpoint Rove light 600 and I am trying to get them to fire at the same time. I set the SB700 as a slave and it is not working. Any tips?

SB700, in slave mode, is "looking" for the IR signal from a native Nikon controller. I think what you're intending is for it to be an "optical slave", whereby it will fire when it simply "sees" another flash go off. In the menu, under "Remote" you can select SU4 mode, which allows the flash to optically slave when set as a remote flash.

This system stinks. For real creative photographers who hide flashes and make photos around corners this doesn’t work.

That's why they sell radio units (which we cover in great detail). It does "stink" but only if you don't have a budget. If you are within line of sight, it works fine.
