I am happy to be one of the first subscribers to congratulate you on this amazing feat. I think it was about two years ago I first found your channel, the episode was how important the Z mount will be. Yours is a channel where people are encouraged to put their "brand" differences aside and just enjoy photography. That is a theme to which you have adhered in each and every episode. And you accomplished this while also being a beacon to the Nikon community. Not to mention your video content of late is top shelf! Well deserved Matt. take care. Ted in Sebastian, Florida
Congrats mate🥳🍾🍾 The community around this channel is quite something and I am super glad to be a part of it. Also so glad to have been able to meet you in person and to be able to spend some time with you (and Joe) both on and off camera. So you have "overfilled" Rod Laver Arena and are well on your way to filling "Marvel Stadium"!! You are a great person and well and truly deserve the success that comes your way. Heres to many more "subs" and many hours of enjoyable content to come. (More printing videos please)🙂👍
Glad you are a part of it Chris, after I packed up filming I kicked myself I forgot to throw your Viltrox in the mix ... coming soon. Thanks for being a part of this community and look forward to seeing you soon. Cheers Matt
Hi Matt. Congratulations on 30K. As an old subsciber, I am very happy to see that you are getting this level of recognition. Your content is informative and always a pleasure to watch.
Dear Matt, it is one year that I follow you with pleasure and a lot of interest. I feel so happy for you with those 30.000 subscribers. I hope it will increase in the future because you talk in an intelligent and clever manner. Thank you for that from France
Love your content Matt, Congratulations on the 30K , So glad I have been along for the ride ! Keep moving those numbers up. I think you need more lenses! Good day!
Greetings from Los Angeles! Congratulations Matt! Keep on keeping on. This is the best photography YT channel and I’ve seen them all. Those two Canucks are pretty fun to watch too.
Huge congratulations mate, your positive outlook never fails to uplift me and it's always a pleasure to watch your videos. I hope you continue to have more success and that you can make it work financially to the point that you can commit more time to RU-vid, because your unique style is in my opinion greatly appreciated on this platform.
Well done Matt, another significant milestone and richly deserved mate. Lots of hard work is really beginning to pay off. I really enjoy the style you've made your own and look forward to the next episodes. All the best from the UK
Congratulations Matt , you have been a big part of my learning , decision making and general growing and moving into the camera world , I thank you for the great service you have provided
Congrats, Matt! I look forward to celebrating 100k subs with you! You are one of the greatest pillars of the the photography community and it is through your channel that I got to know about other great channels that I follow diligently. Here's to more success🍻
Glad you enjoyed it, and a lot of older lenses will be getting cheaper by the day out there, must be millions and millions of them with Canon and Nikon both selling in excess of a 100,000,000 lenses :) Take care.
Congratulations for 30.000 subscribers. You are really a diamond in our Nikon centric community as are Becky and Kon, Seth, Vahagan, Frames, Raymond and so many more. I love your relaxed but professional type of presenting things. Keep on rocking!!!
Matt, you have great popularity because you are doing such a good job with your videos. I watch your videos all the time, thanks for some great info on lenses and cameras. Cheers
Congratulations on starting to get the subscribers you deserve. Now, the most ridiculous combination I ever did was putting a Hasselblad mount 150/4 Sonnar on an Olympus Pen F half frame body using a Hasselblad to Nikon F adapter attached to a Nikon F to Olympus Pen F adapter.
Good for you Matt - you certainly deserve the success - been following your channel since near the beginning and you have consistently been a positive force and very entertaining. As I am primarily a Nikon shooter, I was attracted to your content because we share that, and although you primarily use Nikon I think you take nice effort to include others from other systems as we are all brothers and sisters in Photography. Keep up the great work - I know you will. Best -B
Congratulations Matt and well done. Loved the review, some crazy add ons. I'm a bit of a Nikon kid myself and have 9 35mm Nikon film cameras ranging from an old S2 to an FA and F4. On the digital side a D850 (waiting for one of the fabled Z8s) and a Zfc. I just so love the Zfc styling and recently purchased one the new Voigtlander 35m 1.2 Nokton Z mount lens for a cropped sensor. This lens has all the beautiful styling of some of my 35mm manual focus lens and looks so COOL on the Zfc. Thought you might have included one their range in your review. All the best and here's to the next 20k subscribers.
Congrats on 30K - quite an achievement and well deserved. I've been shooting Nikon since the 60's and have lots of ancient glass BUT Nikon quality let's them all work perfectly. Waiting to see what the Z8 might bring.
Yeah Da Rock, there is something special about placing a 50+ year old optic on the front of a modern camera. There is comfort and joy and immense utility. Thanks for being here. Cheers Matt
Congratulations, Matt! Been watching you since you had like 2000 subscribers. Still watch every single video, but comment less. I'm sure 100k will be reached in no time with such a quality content that you make lately. All the best!
Excellent content and congratulations! Two suggestions: the f mount Voightlander 58mm f1.4 (newest version) has a wonderful long focus throw and gives the green box in af-s due to the chip. Also, how about reaching out to Hudson Henry who also is very generous with his time to Nikon RU-vidrs...
Congratulations Matt, love the channel - great content, presented in an entertaining but always level headed way. Keep up the good work, and let me know if you ever plan a trip to North Yorkshire..!
Congratulations on 30,000! Job well done! Just a side question. Since you live in South Australia how far do you have to go to photograph the Southern Lights?
Thanks John, I live in Victoria and the Southern Lights are in Tasmania (an island state to the south), which is about a 1 hour flight away, then some driving :) Love to capture sometime. ✈️
Congrats on reaching 30k 🥳 🎉 👏 For some reason I always thought you had over a million subscribers 🤷♂️ I like the 24-200 and 35 f1.8 prime. That would pretty much cover things. Later when Nikon makes the Z 12-24 DX lens. The 18-140 would also work nicely, but it’s not as good as the 24-200. The Viltrox 33 is another one that might work too.
Great video and thanks for your video - Z30 seems like a good entry Z DX lens, up and upwards for Matt IRwin P & Nikon - hopefully we get a Z70 (Z6 body) - R7 equiv by end of year / early next year.
Absolutely worth praise. A nicer Australian it would be hard to find. I go to Carrow Road, home to Norwich City football club and full it is 27,000. You have more and deserve it. I am a little surprised it is only 30k, you absolutely deserve 50k or even 100k for the amount of work you do. Well done Matt, such a great bloke too, makes you wanna throw up... 😜
Well done Matt and a very interesting video. Since you are working with a broad range of third party lenses sometime I would love to see your reaction to the Pergear 10 mm f/8 fisheye. It's fixed aperture manual focus with a 150 (rather than the 180 of a "true fisheye") but incredibly cheap and a whole lot of fun for the price.
Matt, I think you were a bit muddled about the Mamiya lens on the APC sensor. Nice video. Really, do you enjoy the Z30? I'm wondering if I would like it for backpacking, perhaps with the 50-250 DX Z lens or with the 24-200 I already own. Now my backpacking camera is an RX100.
Hi Barry, yes I agree, I have that around the wrong way, thanks for the heads :) photographybay.com/2016/02/06/understanding-medium-format-crop-factors/
I own the Z50 with both kit lenses. Recently I purchase the Viltrox 23mm 1.4 DX Z mount lens. I was considering buying the F mount 200-500 mm lens (probably used), I still holding out for the 200-600 mm Z mount lens; hopefully Nikon will introduce this lens this year (not holding my breath). Matt congrats on 30K subscriber's. I have been a subscriber for about 2 years, really enjoy your channel.
Thanks so much Cesar, it is so lovely to have had you part of the community for this time :) Thanks for being here. The 200-600 is going to be a very popular lens. I suspect well worth the wait. Cheers Matt :)
Hello Matt, I have been following your contents regularly. I have a Nikon Z30. Recently I bought a 7ARTISANS PHOTOELECTRIC 12MM F/2.8 MARK II LENS FOR NIKON Z. The manual lens is working fine but unfortunately I am unable to load Non CPU lens data on my Nikon Z30 camera settings. It does let me set the highest aperture to 2.8 but Lens focal length does not give any option to select 12mm. Nikon only has options for 8mm or 13mm. What to do? I will be glad if you can give any possible solution to fix it.
Good and interesting video Matt, but I would always prefer lenses made specifically for a camera mount and not a solution with an adapter, because it is always an extra step to do when changing lenses, and I expect most do photographers feel that way?
This is a video about potential, a video about 'why to do', as apposed to 'why not to do'. Sometimes we move fast, sometimes slow, sometimes some interesting adapted lens might just be the ticket. I often hear of cinematographers looking for old lenses due to their character, if you look up the cinematographer of 'The Joker' it was all about mounting old lenses including Nikon glass on their cine cameras. There are so many applications we don't think of every day :)
I only want VR lenses for my Z30 and to keep them small. Nikon need more pancake type wide APS-C lenses with VR built in. Luckily the kit lens is good.
Violate channel etiquette by referencing another channel. That Z 50/1.8S - have you seen Hugh Brownstone - Leica snob extraordinaire - review it and asking Nikon san to make that lens in a Leica M mount?
what about the Z6-III? do you know something or are you not allowed to tell something. i am still stuck with my old d600 - which is good for stills in daylight, but not for video or low light. i won't upgrade until the Z6-III arrives
