Nice video - Probably you should be ready to run too ;-) With regards to Z6ii/z7ii unfortunately I find it no up to speed for fast actions. I got some fabulous glass with 300PF and 500PF waiting for a Z6iii or Z7iii to be paired with, now.
You shouldn't, wait for the Sony A9III supposedly being announced at CES in January. Though I am a Nikon guy. I shot the D500 for wildlife/BIF and NONE of the mirrorless cameras are as good as DSLRs (especially the D500 and D850) currently for action/wildlife/BIF. Fire what this guy is shooting, not much different that still photography. This is very very slow moving subjects in comparison. So depending on what you shoot, mirrorless of any brand/model just may not be very good.
Cool - I photographed bears from the same hide last summer and even the 300mm was too long sometimes! One question: how long does the camera stay connected and available for remote photography with SnapBridge now - can you keep it connected for several hours and just 'wake' the camera when you need it?
Hello Andrew. Thank you for your message. In regards to your question Charging of the camera, via USB with the use of a power back is only available in our Z 5, Z 6II and Z 7II camera. We hope that you find this information helpful.
Hello Geoff. Thank you for your message. In regards to your question, there is no limit to the handshake made between camera and smart device, so the connection can be kept until one of the devices runs out of battery or overheats. Hope that you find this information helpful.
I have a non mirrorless body and all my nikon lenses are to fit it. If i went mirrorless, do you think its better to go sony or canon just on the fact the adaptability is easier over time.
Ordered and paid for my Nikon Z7II with FTZ adaptor and a Z 24-200 Three weeks ago on pre-order in the U.K. The lense has arrived but I cannot even get a possible ETA on the body with adaptor? I do like Nikon but after spending so much money and waiting so long I wonder if I should have made the jump to Sony or Canon .
Nice peaceful & calming vid. Great footage & photos. Bear close ups & wolves photos are great but if I had to choose a winner, it would be the one of the eagle shots. Were you using a remote pano head on the remote camera/tripod set-up?
BS. Depth of field is more than enough to get the eye sharp. the problem with this image is the eye is in the shadows, and the shutter speed is only 1/640 of a second. He wasn't set up for birds in flight.
Interesting observation. All of the burst images of the eagle are out of focus. I wonder how it could have been fixed. Perhaps a fixed aperture (f4) and a shutter speed of 1000 with auto ISO and AFS focusing.
Hello All! May be it will be helpful for Nikon 7zii owners. I had problem "Lens initialization failed" during the first attachment of 24-200 Nikkor Z Lens to camera. It was solved when I turn camera on with the lens adjusted to the maximum focal length - 200 мм. It was my second lens of this type. The first has defect of small plastic ring with Nikkor name at the front of the lens - the ring was not fixed correctly - it jumps out - I exchanged it. The first lens also has initialization error - but it was gone by turn camera off and on as suggested.
You will, I do and everyone I know will say the same thing. No mirrorless has the ability yet of AF acquisition and tracking compared to DSLRs and specifically the D500 and D850. This is including the A9II (shot with) and the Canon R5 (from people I've talked to)
That was interesting. No ultra close ultra wide shot after spending so much time talking about that style? No comparison with the original Z7? Peculiar editing style?
This is very very slow moving wildlife photography. Not much different that still subject and not a challenge for even an entry level DSLR. If this is what you shoot, then most any mirrorless will work very well. If you shoot action wildlife or BIF (birds in flight) there is no current mirrorless camera that can keep up with a DSLR like a D500 or D850. Mirrorless no matter the brand or model has the AF acquisition and tracking ability that DSLRs have. They just aren't there yet.
I appreciate the craft as a photographer but does anyone else really dislike his editing style? I feel like it takes away from the image and is just so stereotypical early instagram looking
Instagram style, kinda unnatural to me as well, he also regularly creates some strange artifacts and promotes the noise due to his edits. I would even go further, in my opinion he rarely gets his settings right. And when it comes to culling images, it seems like he's not very strict with himself quality wise either. Or how else could you show a shot like the one at 6:23? It looks like a mix of wrong focus and motion blur. 1/640s is way too slow. It might work sometimes when panning with a slow flying heron for example, but not when you got a landing eagle. 1/1600s would be the minimum in that situation, the faster the better. Today it's all about followers. It seems like having a huge reach on social media is seen as enough of a qualification to get gear for free, become an ambassdor etc.
@@jochenwuest I couldn't agree more, That was the shot that made me stop and write a comment, it's just not good. I can understand Nikon wanting to appeal to a younger, instagram audience maybe(?) but I don't understand how he fits in with some of the others that they've shown recently who I really rate, like Ray Demski. This feels like the photographic equivalent of Kanye putting out any crap music he can because he's famous and knows it will still be bought and get likes. I'm glad I'm not the only one though
Nice video but the quality of the images was awful... You definitely should improved yourself on this regard especially that you advertise a top brand!l
