Fantastic video and I also love my Z9. The music at the end...who is it? Love it as well. Nice work and I can't wait to see more. We DO have the same interests...Thanks for sharing and Peace!
From my use cases, it's not anything special. No pre capture raw, no 30fps raw, no pixil shift. The portrait profile for video will be useful. The rest isn't anything ground breaking. I feel it should have been called 4.2 or 4.3 firmware. Calling it a 5.0 firmware is just marketing.
I have also had my Z9 (a Zed 9 here in the UK, not a Zee 9!!!) for two years and still absolutely love it. I upgraded my Z7ii to a Z8 last summer and it is also a great camera but the 9 is my No 1 go-to camera every time. There is only one thing I really wish it and the 8 had and that is PreCapture in RAW, not just JPEG. I don't need 120fps pre-capture - 30fps in RAW would be fine, even 20fps but please, Nikon, upgrade teh pre-capture to offer RAW as well as jpeg.
I'm with you. Would take a lot for me to move away from Z9. Only downside is the weight but the upsides are way larger than moving to something like a Z8. Hopefully they continue to add features because like you said its like getting a whole other camera. Nikon really hit it out of the park with this camera.
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective precapture although cool would scare me. I’m still trying to figure how not to come home with too many images. lol. Pixel shift is interesting but I’m not sure how much I’d use it unless they build it into LR.
I am having issues with AF in video mode on Z8. Shooting both birds and planes the AF loses subject. Is there a fool proof video setting to prevent it hunting for focus
Are you using AF-F with small area large with that specific subject detection selected for what your shooting and the subject taking up a good amount of the viewfinder? If its a busy background the camera can have problems. You just need to learn how to assist the focus using the manual focus wheel to start out at worst.
You need to use AF-F in video for full time auto focus. AF-C only keeps focusing when you press and hold the shutter button down or press back button focus. Pressing that button also makes your camera shake around and isnt comfortable to use long term.
