I remember when I first saw an ad for Amongst the Catacombs and thought, "How can you mix death metal and Egyptian bullshit together?? Is there no end to the nonsense that these guys come up with??". How clueless I was... Unparalleled brutality on that first album. Just perfection. No band could get me amped up enough to get into a mosh pit but with Nile something just took over. I'm sure people know exactly what I'm talkin about. A legendary band in top form right here.

Don't worry, I'm hearing you. I thought the same way with my then younger booze fueled mind. I didn't get the connections they're actually bringing up in their songs. This shit didn't actually go away at all.

This was definitely Nile in their prime. My favorite era (Nephren Ka/Black Seeds). Brutal as fuck, technical yet not so overly technical and fast that it was boring (in my opinion this is what started happening later on).

100% man. I saw them for the first time on this tour in 2000 when was 18 years old - November To Dismember fest. Dying Fetus (Destroy The Opposition just came out) played too. Fuckin' glad I got to witness these greats in their prime. Deicide hit their prime in the mid 90s then Nile after. So many "brutal" death metal bands today. Lots are utter boring generic, garbage, and some are pretty good but non compare to this era of Nile and Dying Fetus.

Chief was such a powerful frontman! Unlike all the hate.. im very excited for the new album with the reshuffling of members and new guitarist. I think it is exctly what Nile needed. They have become stale. I think the new blood is going to be great for Nile

@@AgeofReason Yeah i can't get into it at all. It's really disappointing because it seems the band put a lot of effort in collectively but the songs are really forgettable.
