Your mental focus is absolutely everything. Talent will only take you so far and this is a prime example of that.

i was with nile ranger at protec (Barnet) academy in 2007-2008 season, literally did pre season and saw how talented he was, i remember sitting next to him in the training facilities at potters bar and told him how much of a baller he was and that i couldn't see him staying at barnet, few weeks later news break out at the academy that he was signed by Southampton! he was a real beast at 17.

He mentioned Pete, Pete Edward’s! Absolute scum of a coach, he stopped players from getting transfers to teams like Tottenham and westham from pro tec.

@@Musthecrazygooner yeah I was at pro tec 2004/2005, and Pete Edward's was a horrible bully ,treated me appallingly when I just needed a arm around shoulder, I had a trial for Watford and when I didn't get in he ignored me and then started to make rude comments about me to players horrible horrible bully tbh amazing how they are allowed around children tbh

@@theosworld941 I agree with you bro, most players did need an arm round the shoulder, we expected one to one management, all we got was shit attitude and coach’s that favoured certain players because of their ethnicity. That's a bit like saying the so-called indigenous British people with no education are entitled to earn more than the low skills jobs are paying, and you hear a lot of that. We don't want immigrants of colour, but we are too good to do the work they do. If it's good enough for the so-called indigenous British, it's good enough for Mr Ranger.

Yup you’re 100% correct. His constant lateness, his lack of impulse control which kept having him do stupid stuff without a care or being able to stop, his fidgeting, his lack of drive, his bad memory, his lack of being able to explain in detail, are all symptoms. People don’t really understand it so they just deem the person as lazy but it’s really a lack of dopamine entirely or a lack of dopamine in the brain firing properly. He really needs to get diagnosed by a medical professional & get medicated. It would help him tremendously in his life.

He could honestly do quite well in the 5th division or the level below. But he keeps holding out for a top 2 division club. The last time he played at that level was in the 2nd division for Blackpool 10 years ago. And even then he seemed to be average at best. Even if he thinks he could do better. He should at least sign a contract with a 5th or 6th tier club in order to show people he has talent. He is not proving anything to anyone just sat at home feeling sorry for himself.

Real talk about 10 years ago he was a handful in league 1. He should have been a championship or league 1 level player for 10-15 years. Instead he messed up due to lack of discipline. He had good stints at Swindon and Southend that fell away. A waste of talent.

Nile ranger is currently a big scammer. He scams women on social media and uses the money from them to live his life🙄 pathetic and sad that he could have and should have been so much more then the man he actually is.

This geezer again....😮 o dear. I will understand that he is moving in the right direction when he does not appear to be trying to be the 'bad man' he has always wanted to be seen as. For now he is exactly the same as he was 10 years ago doing this type of interview.

10 years ago he genuinely spoke quite well though. Now he puts on some really fake sounding accent which (for me as a non-native speaker) is so hard to understand.

I'm from Enfield and saw my guy chilling one night outside my mums yard, we had drug dealers living next to us setting up a trap house, to be honest, everytime time I said hi to nile and his mates they were sound back to me, dudes just minded his business, driving his flash Mercedes around Tho always gonna attract evil eyes, haringey times if anyone knows the story I’ll leave that one for you to tell

Great podcast, honestly. But watching it makes me so frustrated hearing about the opportunities he wasted. I can only imagine how he feels himself, but he's not a bad guy, and I wish him all the best in life. He's still young.

Always support Nile Ranger but i feel like hes told his story too many times in these interviews about how he kept messing up his football opportunities growing up 🤷🏾‍♂️ (havent watched it yet) but imma still watch hopefully it wont be the same stories and some different conversations & im suree he wears this same NY hat in every interview over the past 5yrs 😅

After about 30 mins I was convinced there's something ADHD about this guy, pity it wasn't looked into at the time for the lad.

Yeah but he never scored many goals as a striker. I vaguely remember him at Newcastle, he was like a poor man's Asprilla. The guy can't even hit the net in lower divisions or keep his head on straight. If you are generally a great baller, people in higher divisions will sit up and notice,.you come bottom of the pile.if you cant hold your head at Boreham Wood and fail to hit the net past the dog shit.

He understands his issues but he just cant help himself. Needed someone to help him properly back then. Didnt seem to have that someone in his life at the time. Interesting conversation.
