Funny when I started playing guitar as a kid I hated disco since I was in the disco sucks crowd and now today I LOVE IT! I was soo involved in rock I did'nt know what I was missing. I still love rock today and don't understand why I could'nt love both back then?!?!!

I love Nile's playing: reminds me of the Segovia quote about the guitar being an orchestra contained in one instrument.

This is like the circle getting closed. I love those interviews. I grew up with that music. I like it til the day and Mr. Nile Rodgers is still going strong with young artists of contemporary time. This is a real achievement. R.I.P. Bernard Edwards, much respect. Thank you.

when i heard "Good Times" i thought ,woao nice arrangement , placing the strumming rhythm guitar on front, but the most interesting was the guitar harmony ,the inversion of the minor 7.11 chords, gives sensation of big orchestra funky jazz oriented.that was the touch of the genius Nile Rodgers

I discovered Nile after seeing the movie Soup for One. I knew of him from early Chic. But dug him more as time would pass.

Nile Rogers is the embodiment of music and coolness. His vocals are only because of psychosymatic reasons and lack of help with that. I've rediscovered a Nile Rogers I never realized existed in 2020 and my life will never be the same. I've realized I don't want to ever play guitar without him. Because of him my guitar has been through serious changes to the intonation to make it perfect because I can't let Mr. Rogers detect any musical weakness. He's a musical messiah and a national treasure. I calculate his musical rank to be that of high level savant with untapped capabilities I think about in my mind.

MAN, I just absolutely LOVE this guy. Yes, firstly for the reason everybody else does...that being that he is just an AMAZING talent but really, even moreso, because of the kind of person he comes across as being in EVERY interview I have ever seen with him. He is SO my kind of people. If he wasn't famous and ended up being my neighbor or just meeting thru some off chance mutual friend or the like...trust me, we would be buds...he's my kind of peep.

There are thousands of fantastic musicians making awesome 'real' music, playing 'real' instruments. They just don't get record deals because of fashion, and if they did, nobody would buy the music anyway. They do however release the music themselves on independent labels, and its up to YOU to dig deeper and discover them, they are not going to fall in your lap anymore via Radio and TV.

basic song books i remember, only ever showed the top 4 strings for some chords ;-) and knuckle-breaking contortions for others, that bore no relation to what was supposed to be played

Yeah, love Nile. The interviewer isn't really listening to his answers, he's not very tuned in. Shame. I often see this: Nile keeps his cool, and his shape, despite interviewers who don't really "get" him, or see what makes his tick. And yet it's so obvious.
