What’s up everybody? In today’s video, I will be installing and reviewing a set of NiLight RGB 60” LED truck bed light strips. These cost less than $40 but are a very high quality, inexpensive, custom light kit that will bring so much convenient value to your truck and it’s very easy to install.

I was able to hook everything up properly, however it doesn't work. I checked the voltage at the plug that goes into the controller box. That gets 12v when powered on with the switch. When pluged into the controller box and checking the leads on the circuit board, only less than 2v shows up when switched on. Any idea on this power loss at the connector on the circuit board? Faulty controller?

Did you wire direct power from the battery? If not, maybe try that. Check your ground. If that don’t work I’d contact the seller about a return/exchange.

@@DieselLegiance My power wire is hooked directly to the battery. I got a new kit to see if the controller box was faulty but the new one is the same story. When my power cord is plugged into the controller, I CAN get 12v at the controller but ONLY if the ground wire is not making a connection. Can you say weird? As soon as I touch my ground wire to the grounding screw on the chassis, the voltage drops at the controller.

If you leave it on blue when you turn it off and turn it back on dose it stay on blue

I don’t think so. Every time I shut it off it resets. I am still trying to figure out a way to keep it from resetting.

@@DieselLegiance did you ever figure it out? I’m having the same issue it goes into disco mode every time and it’s annoying!

No I have not had time. I may try running straight Power instead of tapping in.

@@DieselLegiance I ran straight power but added a magnetic switch to turn on and off when the tail gate comes down but running into this issue!

@@DieselLegiance maybe they just want power on all the time and using the remote to turn on and off :(

I don’t remember. I sold this truck to start a new build so I no longer have the lights anymore.

I can’t remember 100% as this was years ago but I think I wired the bed lights into the factory bed outlet I had.

Lighting laws vary so I’d say just look it up or call your local PD and ask to be sure.
