I jumped to a random spot in this that I really appreciated. I like how fair you are to the designers at WOTC. You're right, they are held back by the game's legacy and they have to try to produce a product that pleases everyone (across generations!) which is an impossible task and I agree they're probably doing the best they can within those limitations. I really appreciate that you can be critical of the system and firmly say "I think my way is better" without being unfairly harsh to the people behind it.
I had a question about "targeted" attacks My players like to say thinks like "I want to hit it in the eye" or maybe they find the Dragon has a weak spot and want to take more risk to hit that specific spot to do more dmg Could this be possible with Nimble?
one thing i thought of when it comes to spells, i see alot of these systems have a cast a spell and if u fail u can get banished to the shadow realm, i think there should be levels of fails, if just casting a cantrip, maybe if you roll a 1, u zap urself for 1d4 dmg instead of electricute your legs and no longer have them, i thinks thats too much for lvl 1 player, would turn me off from spell caster and even playing altogether. but if your casting a high level spell like wish, if you fail, on that and roll a coulpe 1's, you can get banished to a genie bottle or something. higher risk higher reward, lower spells should be lower risk,
It is a great idea, but it really doesn't seem to fit this system and the philosophy behind it. Maybe having a standard cost (resource, life, etc.) for casting high level spells would be a better alternative, Idk?
