How can you say that this is a common incident? The police are taking the matter very lightly. This is a serious issue. Such an act should be dealt with serious punishment. It's true that we should not take this in a communal angle but this kind of incident is in no way acceptable and is not ignorable. And I don't understand how such a crime could be committed in broad day light in a place like that. Where were the police? What were you doing? You are everywhere when you want to extort our money, you are in every nook and corner to find and penalize for not wearing helmet or seatbelt not because you are concerned about our safety but so that you can extort some money taking advantage of the law. You are no where to be found when we need protection. I am sure the police will drop this case when we stop talking about it. We say, come to Haflong, it is a very beautiful place but who will come if these things keep happening. Just beautifying roads and places doesn't make a place beautiful when a place is filled with criminals. The true beauty of a place is in the heart of the people living there.
