NINE THEORY: Decoding the Scientist!

This movie really wasn't generic at all. It was amazing, unique, story driven, and a mystery on its own. Though these videos are very good, most of their knowledge points are almost given from the movie, alone. I love this movie, and I can say it's my favorite.

Movie didnt come out sadly, but it would be reasonable to have the movie come out 9/9/19 so it would be 10 years later being the movie is called 10 and the scientist's body is the 10th puppet gaining parts of his soul back

One thing I did realise is the character covers. Even though 1 is illustrated as the leader, he isn't given the sentence "To lead us". Why is that 6 has this motto? I think it has something to do with the same rules of soul sand in coraline. The larger the soul, the more disobedient it is to the instinct such as 9 running away from the robot instead of accepting death, which is what the scientist would want 9 to do. However, since 6 is more cryptic but is not like the others (as you said), he only defies the creatures such as the giant robot tiger and weird snake. Instead he accepts his death when being killed by the BRAIN. This means that "To lead Us" is perfectly described as "To lead us to our fate". He knows way more than any other stitch punk in the movie and knows that the only way to survive is to become WHOLE. Six may be the true savior since there is no safe haven. All there is is to become WHOLE.

It's the month of March the 9th in the year's 2019, either their waiting for September or there won't be a sequel. (I honestly hope it's September because I freaking loved this movie)

The sequel will be called 11, a number with an even greater numerological significance, described as "the master number." Released exactly 11 years after 9.

Honestly the only thing that drew me to 9 was the trailer song. It was rock, and I never looked back. I love the strange storyline

I noticed something when I originally watched 9. With the exception of nine, each of the stitch punk dolls seem to have a separate aspect of the scientist’s personality, and even different aspects of humanity. 1 is the leader, doing what he believes is right for the majority. 2 is the inventor, the innovator, he lets curiosity become his first priority, as two says he “forgets to be afraid” and instead has to know why, (which is why 1 sees him as a threat). 3 and 4 are, as 7 points out, cataloging. They represent research and a drive to know why, much like 2. 5 is the follower, and the friend. He offers support when support is needed and gives the control that the others need. 6 has the information, he’s that part of the personality that already has the information, much like an instinct or intuition, or even perhaps superstition. 7 is the adventurer, and at times is the motherly figure. 8 is a sign of strength and power, he backs up the leader and does his whims. As the scientist puts it, they’re the different pieces of his soul, the pieces of humanity. And another thing, I don’t think that the date 9-9-09 on the posters is actually important as a date. The symbolism behind the number 9bgghhh is not only the savior. While, it does in fact mean the savior, it also signifies that of the end.. and even judgement. I doubt that that’s a coincidence.. Something that I found while researching the significance of the number nine, was that the symbolism behind each of the numbers, matched up with that of the aspects of humanity/different parts of the scientist’s soul. 1 stands for a leader and confidence. 2 is seen as partnership, union, but also as division. 3 is seen as completeness and even magical, and 4 is a strong foundation [4 being a strong foundation and 3 completing that] 5 is balance [knowing when to follow the example and when to not] 6 is luck and often refers to the “sixth” sense. 7 is security and safety. 8 is power. 9 is, as I’ve already said, the end. The judgement. The numbers of 9 throughout the movie, even the movie’s name. The 9 on the bottom of the posters is the tyrant of a chancellor sending out his judgement. His judgement reigns. It reigns on the poorer countries, the scientist, and soon enough, even on himself and his own people. Yet another thing… When the broken down vulture-like robot is brought to him, he shows signs of… almost sympathy, and then frustration and outright rage. You can write off the last one as something that BRAIN got from 2. However, when the Chancellor and his men burst through and seized BRAIN from the scientist, you can see BRAIN reaching for the scientist and fighting back against the soldiers. When he’s given all his upgrades, he looks more like he’s scared and curious. He shows signs of emotion, long before he sucks the souls of the stitch punk dolls. I think that BRAIN had planned on destroying everything from the beginning. I honestly think that he snapped before they began overworking him. The physiological affect not to mention the physical strain… As the Theorizer has already pointed out, BRAIN had the scientist’s intelligence. I’m pretty sure that he could have easily figured out what to do to get back at the Chancellor. Geez that was a lot, sorry..

i freaking love dark animated or stop motion fantasy movies. 9, coraline, corpse bride, frankenweenie, nightmare before christmas, etc... 1000x more interesting than generic happy family friendly kid animations. I just wish there were more!!!!!

Even though this will most likely get buried in the comments, from what (admittedly little) research I've done, it seems like the director's trying to make a sequel to 9, but focus features won't let him, and since they own the rights to the movie, there's not a lot that can be done about it.

The Scientist gave most of his soul to 6, not 9, I thought. He says it on the Facebook Page

Wow. I just so happened to stumble upon this video on 9/9/2018. Sadly, though, no sequel announced.

You... You released this on September 8th?! WHY?! Oh, wait, there's a pinned comment about that already! lol >.< Okay, this is not as similar to my part 2 as I was afraid of. Great video, as always. I'd be curious to know if your research made any suggestions as to whether the Scientist just copied his brain over to B.R.A.I.N. like computer files, or if he had to give up parts of his intelligence, like he had to give up pieces of his soul. I like leaning to the second idea, because it helps to explain why the Scientist can't stop his invention. But, my counter argument here would be that we see a sadness in the Scientist, but not a bitterness. He's remorseful, and he wants humanity to live on, but, it seems like, if the Scientist really wanted to become a machine, he would have put that in his projector recording. I mean, there's no humans left to answer to, so why hide any information at that stage? The dolls aren't going to argue with their creator, and telling them that they should all unite with B.R.A.I.N. might make them less afraid of everything/make them not fight back. The Scientist also releases the other dolls into the world on their own, whereas, if I had a mad scientist plan to turn a machine, I would keep those suckers under lock and key. Plus, from everything we hear, B.R.A.I.N. won the war, killed all humans, and then turned off inexplicably. As it was running for years while the Scientist was making dolls, the talisman wasn't required to keep B.R.A.I.N. running. That's a really weird detail, and the script could have just as easily left the Machine running the entire time without needing a lot of script changes. What is the point of destroying all organic life if you weren't trying to allow robots to take over? If the rebels broke it apart, then shouldn't they And, if the Scientist is the last human left alive, why not just walk right up to B.R.A.I.N. and dump the rest of your soul into him? I love your in-depth research here, but my theorizing senses are saying there's a missing piece of tragedy in the story. I need to go really read that Facebook page now, lol

why not call the sequel 10 to signify the scientist becoming whole again his intelligence and thoughts that was put into the machine aka the brain and the souls together make 10 it would be a cool title. also when it comes to his facebook post how do we know that when he says " The light has faintly flickered on again beneath the ashes and i have begun the long awaited search for hope... i must find 9" that he isnt referring to the machine aka the brain that still carries his intelligence and thoughts its face is a big light that "flicker's" when its active. plus the machine only became active again after it consumed 2's soul so if it was raining drops of water containing his soul whos to say that the machine didnt absorb and power back up? i mean the part where he says "long awaited" could be reference to how long he has been waiting to become whole again to no longer be segmented to one day hope that one day he could be complete again hence my theory for a good title for the sequel and good plot for the sequel. please let me know what you think. also is it possible that the brain seperated itself similarly to how the souls where divided into the other machines it created to collect the remaining souls after it had comeback? if so could that mean the scientist intelligence and thoughts are still active in another machine created by the main machine? idk its just an idea.

I loved this move from the first moment I saw a poster for it at the movie theater. It was the first movie I looked into in great detail before I ever even saw it. It remains one of my all time favorite animated movies. And I'm happy to know that people still appreciate, and that there are still secrets to be reviled.

Watched this as a kid, the movie was so unique and left me sitting on my little bed contemplating everything I just watched, so many question and intriguing theories

You seem so excited

I've talked about this a lot with my friends from the 9 fandom from way back when; we don't necessarily want another movie to continue the story. After years of refining my own tastes and adopting a more critical outlook on films, the first movie is very rushed. Rushed to the point where it hardly focuses on anything other than plot. We don't really take very long to get to know our characters and what's at stake. We know 9, that's for sure. We know 1. We know 5, but not as well as we could and he's painted to be a main co-star. The point I'm trying to make here is that whatever they decide to do next, I want them to be able to take time to explain in a way the first movie couldn't. I personally would be happy with a mini-series or a comic series akin to how The Dark Crystal or Invader Zim got their own after their media ended. I wish well towards whatever Shane Acker is doing (and sincerely hoping he's the one in charge instead of a corporate takeover) and will be excited no matter what.

I’m just randomly putting it out here, I think it’s might come out this year, June 18th to be specific, 9 months after September is June, and 9 days after June 9th (Which is 9 years and 9 months after 9’s release) is June 18th. So yeah there you go, I don’t know what you’ll do with that but, hey, don’t use it to make war machines to take over the world ;) If somebody’s already talked about this I’m going to cry :)

i honestly don’t know why this film got such underrated reviews, every time i watch it it always leaves me shocked and stunned even though i have watched it so many times! it deserves way more credit than it’s been given, the effort clearly put into this even after the films release shows how amazing it is! at this point i don’t even think it’s just a film, it’s something much bigger and i love it so much!

This guy deserves more subscriber, he's totally underrated and quite intelligent when it comes to breaking down his theory's. every one hypes up game theory while smaller theorist go under the radar.

its 2018, the countdown BEGINS

Hello everyone here... As you all may or may not know, there has been no actual talk or beginning project for a sequel by Shane Acker or Focus Features. Shane Acker had sadly given away his ownership on the copyrights of “9” to Focus Features not too long after the production of the film. He also mentioned in an interview that he had thought about a sequel to possibly happen, but everyone knows that he had given up on that idea and focused on other works... But I want to mention that I have begun working on a LEGIT sequel theory that as been in work progress ever since 2019. I have done extreme research on pretty much every topic that should be covered on in regards to “9” and how there could be a real sequel that is professionally written, well-directed, well-animated, and overall factual to the original story. I 100% promise you that this “9” sequel project is not in any way a joke or any fan fiction junk-NOT AT ALL!! This is something that I am developing to be completely founded on solid facts and legit research alone to be a truthfully logical theory overall. I am planning on dividing the theory into several “parts” due to multiple specific topics being touched up on. I will be sure to submit this theory on all social media platforms that I am available on, including Facebook(Emily Huddleston) and an new official 9 Sequel Project Page[link is down below], Tumblr(Craftzy101), Instagram(Craftzy101), Discord(Nerdii Eternal#2100), and Deviant Art(Craftzy101).
