Thank you, just did it. It’s so easy there isn’t really an instruction needed, but it helps you from doing more work than needed and maybe breaking something.
Best video tutorial, thank you so much!! I just changed my front bearings after 2500 miles. Pretty easy repair! Now it should be easier next time now knowing i can remove the front wheel WITHOUT unscrewing and removing the drum brakes. Such a PITA screwing on back the drum brakes lol
Super helpful, dude. I'm upgrading to hybrid ceramic bearings and really needed a guide to do this at home. Incidentally, could you recommend a bearing removal / insertion tool that would work? I won't argue with hammers and wood, but a dedicated tool would be welcome! Thanks and looking forward to your rear wheel bearing replacement vid.
You can al;so use the old bearings for tapping in the new ones . Also if you are struggling with the push in of the axle one, you can reverse it, put in inside the wheel one and tap on the axle to push both in at the same time

Why are these scooters always so dirty in such videos, like people don’t know how to clean their scooters. I clean all of my scooters at least three times a week as I ride daily but they never get as dirty as this one.
So the apartment fixing solution I used to do this repair: went to Lowe’s and got them to cut down a 2”x4”x8’ stud into 1’ blocks; bought a 3/4”x6” nipple pipe to take the bearing off the shaft, and I bought a bearing race and seal set (for a newbie it was worth the $20 because I was able to put one flat side down on the inner brake side bearing and then tap on that using a socket). Oh, and I used Nachi 6001-2NSE9 bearings since I couldn’t source SKF’s easily. Thank you so much for the video, it was beyond helpful. Now I just need to wait for the double lip seals to arrive and then decide if I’m comfortable enough with replacing the rear bearings 😂
Can you believe it. Segway ships their units with WARRANTY VOID IF EXPOSED TO WATER. If you drive through a puddle, or in the rain, or wash it, then WARRANTY IS VOID. I'm now here to watch disassembly videos of the motor hub, which I avoided before as I didn't want to void my warranty. Only made surface maintenance, probably very ineffective, as you can't get your wd40 near anything close to the axle... I've now been chewed off on page 7 of the user handbook, in which it says that exposure to water voids your warranty. So the fact that I had a bearing ball snap in half is due to water. Sure, and I was born yesterday. I'll see what I can do to fix it, and I will never purchase another Segway product again.
Hello mate, good video but what about if you got 2 bearing like yours but without any axial inside... Bcs I actually can't take theym off like you did.. My scooter is a Kugoo g2 pro (if u check online) and shops asking me to much to change theym... Any idea mate..? Thanks
I have the G30 Max LE2. I take it its the same bearingwise? The factory ones are pretty weak. Mine are dead after a little over 200 km. Thanks for the video. Helps a lot!
Thanks for the video! My front bearings gave out after ~70km, and I am beyond dissapointed. Too bad I already flashed the scooter so warranty is probably not an option… I guess it’s time to upgrade!
@@lolenas Yeah I've heard great things about the reliability. I had a clone scooter (which I fried) before, and comparing to it the ninebot is far superior. I think I've just got very unlucky with a splash of water penetrating the bearing seals or something. Luckily I don't mind the work of fixing it, it's just a shame to have it happen so fast.
Mine lasted about the same km as yours. I got caught under the rain twice and the bearing gave up the next days. I'm now waiting for my parts to get delivered so I can change/upgrade it.
Thank you very much for the helpful video! I had to change the bearings after about 840 km. Defective was only the bearing on the outside. My scooter G30D (D=Version for Germany), year of manufacture 7/2020, had no stuck brakes.
I looked at this video a few weeks back, placed an order for bearings, and tonight i finally fixed the front wheel! Thanks for the great video! ps. When i test-rode it just now, i still had a little of that stuttering/shaky feeling, even on flat ground indoors, could it be that i need to swap motor bearings too?
Hey I just bought a g30 max ,5 days ago . The motor is making a little thumping sound when it switches from drive to Regen, . Also the motor has a whine to it my other one doesn't , and ideas 🤔. Thanks ,great video 👍
i wonder how much resistance the bearing have under load and 25kmh, cause mine have the same issue and after the first wet morning with no rain it started squeaking but i didnt notice any increase in battery drain but now after like 120km and a thunder storm rain ride to the store it have started to drain more cause i did get about 5-6km in Sport and it drained 15%-18% and now its drain 18-28% the exact same road to work-.-
@@nameberry220 well, when i bought it they was rock hard it felt like so havent bother checking and i feel like they are still hard when driving over bump etc but i maybe should check it out.
Great video... I just bought A Max G30LP and at 100mi (60km) are already experiencing a failure. Question: should I bother with warranty replacement since the scooter is only 2wks old? Or would you just recommend upgrading right out of the gate? Thanks!
@@randomrepair1680 Roger that! I appreciate you sharing your opinion! I'm thinking that is the direction I'll end up going. Thanks again for the video!
Hallo, Wenn das Rad wieder mit den 17 er Schrauben befestigt werden muß eine Unterlegscheibe dazwischen oder werden die ohne Unterlegscheibe befestigt??? Beste Grüße aus Darmstadt
@@randomrepair1680 i did and the brake drum fell off together with the axis, now how do i get that bearing inside the drum brake out of the axis? i couldnt hammer out the axis out of the drum brake, the bearing inside the drum brake actually felt quite smooth (just like in your video), so i just left it in there
Are you able to provide a link of where you got the bearing from? I heard you say a place but couldn't quite make out what you said. I live in Australia so finding hard to find the SKF 6001-2RS1/C3GJN
@@randomrepair1680 Thank you. Have tried Ebay and Amazon and the prices were crazy. I found a local bearing company and will give them a call on Monday to see if they stock them. Thank you.
Thanks for the video, I bought a couple of Skf for the front, I’m gonna do this upgrade soon. Just wondering one thing, if I’ve seen properly you haven’t use any vaseline or grease for the bearings. Should I do it? Thanks
@@randomrepair1680 at the moment I’ve solved only with “Wd40 ptfe”, but only because I’m not using the G30 often (here in Italy there’s a second lockdown, kind of 😅). But the problem sometimes comes back again, so I must change che bearings.
I have a problem, after instillation the wheel doesn’t spin as freely as on your video but spins for like 5-6 seconds and then stops. New SKF bearings. Do you know what might be the issue?
@@randomrepair1680 what if it is in rear wheel? Is that normal? As my G30D rear wheel isn’t moving freely just like the front wheel. Need your valuable advice/suggestion on this! Thank you very much for the nice & helpful video. 😊👌👌
@@randomrepair1680 oh, sorry, I was meaning generally. I have a different wheel. I searched a "bearings" web site and was amazed at the number of sizes... in thousanths.
@@randomrepair1680 thanks. U think i should wait if the sound comes and then change it or change it tomorrow front and rear. I checked the sound and it was gone at front wheel.
@@randomrepair1680 so probably a good idea to buy these bearings as a spare just in case they got out of production for this scooter. Will get some in 👍🏼
Hey really like your video, but I have a question. What are the measurements of the bearings because I can't find the right ones.(plus do you have any recommendations for upgrading those bearings?)
Just got a 2nd hand max. I thought it was just the noise echoing through the hollow front bar.. until I spun it freely. sounds like a common problem. And omg. Had a compaq presario 970 a looooong time ago lool
@@randomrepair1680 what can I say, eagle eyed lol. Btw, is for the bearing, what's the difference between 6001-2RSH and 6001-2RSH/C3? I'm assuming both can be used?
@@a9fc Radial clearance: C1 = smaller than C2 C2 = smaller than CN Without suffix = CN normal clearance C3 = greater than CN C4 = greater than C3 C5 = greater than C4 GJN = high temperature grease, polyurea soap-mineral oil, -30 to +150°c. Get SKF 6001-2RSH for front, they should be good. 2RS1 is older contact seal.
I upgraded my front bearings to hybrid ceramic. Being a complete newb, it was trickier than I hoped it would be and, yes, I ended up snapping one of the plastic clips on the fork covers :). Live and learn. Still, I'm glad I learned how to do it and it was only because of your video that I could have even attempted it. Many thanks!
@@razorray6273, are they worth it? Not sure, but the ones I chose weren't that expensive so I figured why not. So far, so good. This is what I used: www.bearingscanada.com/product-p/6001-2rs-ceramic-1228x8-abec-3.htm
@@razorray6273, no, the rear bearings are apparently 6003. I haven't yet attempted to replace those. Random Repair has also done a video on doing the rear found here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fw5M1_HzwG4.html&ab_channel=RandomRepair
