That sounds good on paper but unfortunately, most wild animals including the endangered species are not good to keep as pets simply due to their unstable nature. And primates are no exception. As cool as pygmy marmosets, gorillas, orangutans, lemurs, and many other primates are, they make extremely terrible pets because of their unpredictable instincts. As infants they're safe, until they grow up is when things get worse. 1st off, they are not submissive creatures, so potty training them is pointless. They are very short-tempered creatures (similar to raccoons, badgers, and feral cats) which means anything can easily upset them. They also demand more attention from their owners than dogs and they are very difficult to separate from their owners. They are pretty destructive creatures in which they can trash up your own home, even by spreading their own urine and feces. While some primates like gorillas and orangutans can be dangerous due to their own strength, certain primates like baboons and chimpanzees are extremely dangerous and they have been known to prey on humans. Most lucky victims to survive a chimpanzee attack usually has to have some face surgery at the hospital. You're only best bet for the proper care for primates and other wild animals is in zoos or wildlife sanctuaries were they are handled by more experienced caretakers.

They deserve to live free in their natural habitat! They are not pets for humans.

@@koyadaone Do you know what it took for dogs and cats to become domesticated? Most ppl barely know how to give dogs a happy life anyways. So it's highly unlikely your average person is capable of caring and providing the environment marmosets need. If you get a monkey in general, your life has to revolve around that animal, they are not "pets" that are obedient and listen and you can teach how to go to the corner to be quiet. Marmosets have a high chance of escaping, so once that happens you basically killed another one of them, as all they know is the life with some deranged human who thought it would be so cute to keep them and be a good vegan animal rescuer. As long as you don't commit your entire life to animals and have the right space, environment, time, food sources, knowledge and skills to care for an exotic "pet" you have absolutely no business to ever own one of these.

4 ljc better side ? It’s inhuman for anyone to obtain a wild non domesticated animal to just selfishly keep it as some pet .., that’s not the life that thing wants or needs. It’s a social animal that NEEDS to be among its own kind. Not among humans ... anyone that ever obtains one always claims to have “ rescued” Or “ saved “ it but in reality , they’re subjecting them to a life of misery , despite any bonds that may form in short periods during their younger years bc once they’re sexually mature , they revert back to typical wild monkey .. it’s cruel for ppl to own them even if they’re trying to provide care. They suffer mentally and emotionally and often don’t live as long and of course , lack the ability to thrive among their own kind and have the right nutrients / diet and stimulation. It’s not showing any human decency when ppl obtain those things ... but ppl see what they want to see , thinking oh , it’s everyone’s human right to just go grab up baby monkeys to have as pets ... often their mothers are killed in the process Just so someone can profit off selling them and contributing to the pet trade. Those are highly endangered , also and it should actually be a crime for them to own it ... it very well may be illegal that they even have it.
