When i have my coals then i would have a jug or and thermos and fill the jug or thermos and put in many peices of this coal without powdereing them just coal twigs a bunch of them or very long ones then i would shake it and let it sit for at least 24 hours. I could have water filtered with my coal cloth then later drink the better water. I must Honor you by saying the Ninja skills i possessed before i gave you a chance were greatly increased and made more authentic. I found you in the book store i use to look for more book but only based on authentic skills. I was taking care of a family then so I put your book on the shelf for some time but at the time i was learning kuji kiri. You made that better too. I have made a piece of headwear that serves as both a foraging bag for gathering herbs and a filter for water. Its a long cone of natural fabric similar to the hat worn by Link from the legend of zelda franchise. The band where it goes around the head has several buttonholes stitched in, so that it can be hung up from a tree branch, and filled with charcoal, sand and grass to pour water through. I like to put sweet herbs like mint in the very tip to sweeten the water a little bit as it filters. Its essentially a “millbank” style water filter bag but given a little more versatility as a garment and container.i will have to experiment with natural dyes that have antimicrobial properties for my next version that I make!
