Man, I would love to get the Classics Ninjor! He's not at the top of my list for figures that I want, but if I ever found a good deal on him, I would definitely pick him up!
Ninjor is definitely quite the obscure looking character. The most notable thing most think about him is that he’s a rare figure and that he was clearly made to jump onto the ninja craze at the time. So it’s a little surprising that there’s already a MOTU Origins figure of him announced somewhat early in the new line. I guess Mattel took advantage of the fact that the vintage figure was 90% reused parts. And he has both the punch and chop action features? Did not notice that for some reason. This is quite the well made video on a obscure character like him.
Thank you! I don't remember even knowing about his as a kid, but if I did see him, he may have just blended in with all of the other ninjas at the time. I thought it was weird that he was already planned for the Origins line before a lot of the more well-known characters.
I remember seeing him in stores back then and thinking that it was kinda late for them to be doing a ninja and that I would have wanted him a couple years ago but He-man had gotta kinda "played out" especially like you just said... the cartoon wasnt even on anymore. The later waves of He-Man / MOTU kinda ran out of imagination and were super gimmicky at that point. It's funny to hear that this toy is sought after these days.... I'm pretty sure these weren't rare anyone that wanted one could have had one back then.... no one wanted one for a reason... the story was played. I guess they're rare now because no one bought them and the rest got thrown in the trash once the toy stores couldn't get ppl to buy them.
I do love Scare Glow from that last wave! I've read that by the last wave, the production numbers were a lot smaller, so even though they were pretty easy to find at the time, that may have been more because a LOT fewer people were buying Masters of the Universe figures. ;)
I stopped collecting by 85-86..but as an adult collector I have him finally. Truth be told he's cool but just doesn't fit in this line. MOTU to me is more fantasy. It's a little bizzare that a ninja hangs out in Eternia. Lol. Not too mention he cost me like a 100$
MOTU was about selling plastic and the story line was thrown one top. By the end of the line it was almost as gimmicky & goofy as TMNT later became.... TMNT stole the goofy gimmicky play book from MOTU. It's a shame because MOTU started out badass and a little edgy kinda Heavy Metal / Savage Sword of Conan style and ended up too kiddy. If they would get their stuff together and bring out a new edgy /not for children animated or live action MOTU they would have an absolute hit.
@@christophermoody6840 my little brothers played with tmnt but I do remember so crazy characters. As far as a more bad ass cartoon and toy line. It's coming. Kevin smith is doing a netflix series called revelations. Plus a 7" action figure line to follow
@@Degro76 Oh wow. Didnt know that about the Netflix series. Thanks... I was thinking they could fuse together an old technology like the Rotoscope they used on the old Bakshi LOTR animation and modern CGI to create Eternia... it would give it that anachronistic feel of a mix of futuristic / sword & scorcher feel.
Nifty video! Thank you! I had the original Ninjor, and I liked him just fine. I didn't have much of a problem with him "not fitting in," since he was brought to Eternia from another world (I always assumed Earth) by Skeletor. Heck, when the first four Evil Horde figures came out, I looked at their weird proportions, huge heads, and Grizzlor's fuzziness, and thought they were for pre-schoolers. They grew on me, though. They ALL grew on me, eventually. The Classics version is pretty cool, too, but I lament the lack of chain on the nunchaku, though. Ended up using one from a 6" Michaelangelo for him. ;)
It does make sense that he would fit in more if you're thinking about the fact that Skeletor brought him to Eternia from somewhere else. That really opens up the possibilities to anything you can imagine making its way to Eternia! I don't have the Classics Ninjor, so I'm not familiar with his version of the weapons.
@@WeHadThat Classics Ninjor itself looks nifty enough, but it has its problems. The aforementioned moulded plastic chain on the nunchaku, his katana's handle is too thick to hold in his right hand, but too narrow to really hold in his left hand, and of course you've got the bow with the moulded bowstring and arrow stuck to it. The rest of him looks dang cool, though, and he's got weapons storage on his back.
Never had Ninjor as a kid. Not going to pay over $100.00 for a loose one. The new MOTU Origins line is releasing Ninjor next Spring. I'll save a ton of money and pick him up then :)
I hope to get Scareglow from the origins line! I haven't been able to find an original for a good price, so it would be nice to have the Origins version!
Well, the good news is that Ninjor is part of the new Masters of the Universe Origins line, so hopefully you'll be able to find him at Walmart soon! :)
@@tamashorvath224 Oh wow, I thought he was coming in wave 2 or 3! I didn't realize that he was even later than that! I just recently saw what was in wave 2 and I still don't know any of the figures for wave 3!
He was in at least one issue of the marvel star comic. I remember him but at the time and thinking he was cool but he-man was the first toyline I dropped.
I loved this figure when i seen him in my old Kay Bees toy store in the 80's but was not able to get one tell may years later looses no weapons and missing one arm but i still love the figure
I was off and on wish listing 85-86 he-man. I'm guessing Gijoe comics was more my interest. I missed out on him. Definitely one of the cooler he-man figures from then.
@@WeHadThat I fell happy to have this opportunity. I didn't have the vintage one. I think it's really nice because reminds me of the ninjas from Rambo collection :)
That would make a great name for a TV sitcom! I can even imagine the theme song - "Who's that creeping around Castle Grayskull? Never mind, it's just Jitsu. Who's that lying in wait to attack? Never mind, it's just Jitsu. Who's that coming through a portal? Never mind, it's just Jitsu. Who's that dressed all in black? Never mind, it's just Jitsu."
@@masterfarr8265 Yes, I can see it too! For some reason, the phrase just struck me as funny and made me imagine Man-At-Arms seeing Ninjor for the first time and being nervous, then realizing, "Oh, it's just Jitsu." and then not being worried at all.
