It also shows how in depth he is when editing, he watches his own videos way more intently than I do, at least. I'm amazed he doesn't experience burnout between all the uploads, reviews, uploading and everything he does for patreons too on top of it
Once I heard PVDDR talking about how he tests new cards in fresh formats and he said he'd try to first push the synergies of the card to its limits, including all other cards that theoretically work with it in the deck and later keep a more powerful core as observed on matches and include interaction as the meta demands. I really enjoy seeing how LVD pushes synergies to its limits like PV said he did, especially in fresh formats like current standard, but also in others. LVD's decks are always laser focused, always having the capability of going off at some point, being able to steal games that look otherwise lost like that one vs uw control. Keep up with the great content man, you're highly appreciated.
It’s easy to push synergy when everything works together now with the algorithm and poor card quality - how many reprints are there now how much of standard is really just a reprint
The ability to ninjitsu the same attacker multiple times works well with nezumi prowler as its an enter the battlefield effect. You get the trigger for ninjistu so you can use it as a combat trick for a different blocked creature and then swap it out for a ninja that benifits from doing damage. Same goes for thousand face shadow as shown in match one
This looks so fun! That ninjutsu sequence at 14:10 was mind blowing! Complete overkill and total one sided wipe with no casualties?! Absolute nukin futs 😆
@@mcbescheiden725 That's Rogues, consistency is the goal of a good deck and you simply cannot reliably use ninjutsu and hold up counterspells in a tempo deck.
Thank you showing off the Satoru synergies. I had no idea you could use Ninjutsu more than once after blockers are declared. I tried Satoru in Historic Brawl and had some fun with that interaction.
Definitely interesting how the classic Ninjutsu designs required actually hitting the opponent so there'd be no point to Ninjutsu-chaining, but now it's beneficial with some cards. I wonder if they'll decide that was a mistake honestly.
I have almost every card to be able to play this deck, except Biting Palm Ninja, so to swap out the 3-cost and retain some value, I am using Circuit Menders, so every time I use ninjutsu I am generating life and card draw. Also I only have one copy of Satoro Umezawa, so I have one Kaito Shizuki in there as my "Flavor Saver". I really appreciate your deckbuilding skills, as I have been out of the game since 2019. I am 95% done building your Samurai deck and, like I say, about 90% done building this one, and thanks to you I am coming out swinging as I get used to standard again. Thanks for your hard work!!
One of the best ninja decks out there. I see a lot of other channels struggle with them, but using this deck I've been able to climb through plat fairly easily (minus the occasional pure control deck). Definitely a deck that you need to take your time and think things through on.
I built a similar deck during a draft, albeit way less powerful of course since I didn't have access to some of the best cards, and racked up 6 wins. I had 3 Silver-Fur Masters and a bunch of other ninjas with Ninjutsu, it was especially fun to "combo" the Covert Technician with Virus Beetle since I can attack with the beetle, pick it up to ninjutsu in the ninja which then allows me to play it again for free.
I'd really like to see your take on an historic version of this deck as you did in the past. It would be interesting to see what card you would change and why with the introduction of this new set. Anyway keep up the good work, love your videos !
At 10:24 the correct play likely would have been to bounce your biting palm ninja back to hand, nunjutsu it out with your attacker then make them discard wrenn and seven, do 5 damage and then play the disruptor again.
On 19:00 they could have a white legendary land to cast it for 2 mana, as it gets a discount from Thalia being on the board. You played into it without realising it, but it turned out to be a bluff. Opponent basically outsmarted themselves, if he tried to trick you into believing that's the case.
I was impressed by it as a source of card advantage, assuming you can keep enabling Ninjutsu. Might require more unblockable creatures like Stowaway to be consistent in matchups with lots of Flying and Reach creatures.
I'm not sure I've seen the decayed interaction played out in Arena - I would guess that in that case you don't need full control since the decayed will trigger before it actually happens causing a pause for responses? Whereas the lack-of-being-in-combat that stops Ninjutsu isn't an actual ability, requiring more control.
"Unblocked" creatures being different from "creatures that haven't been blocked" (yet) was a real oversight in game templating haha. In the old days they included "play only during combat after blockers have been declared" on those abilities but for some reason decided people would just figure it out themselves, hmmm :)
@@jerodast for real. I had one kid that was like, "I attack with this 2/2 into your 3/3 blocker, so before you block, my creature is unblocked so I ninjutsu in this 5/5 so you either take 5 or you chump." 😅
I love this so much Luca! Way better than the rogues/mill/ flash deck we all had to endure not so long ago lol. Would it muddle the strength of the deck if you made a Sultai deck to include the green ninja? Sultai is my fav colors so Imma end up trying to make it anyways, just wanted your opinion on it! :D
Cool new deck! Lots of triggers, choices and tricks. Not easy to pilot and way better than the dimir rogues in last standard was. Why did that mono white player still use snow lands in standard (in the second match)? There's no reason to play them after the haven ban. Mono green and Orzhov control still use snow for things like blizzard brawl and board wipes but for mono white, there's no reason for that.
The day will come when snow lands are no longer in standard and we'll ask ourselves, why didn't I play more snow lands when I had the chance! Was I really so afraid of the occasional Reidane? The day will come, and when it does, it will feel like it came sooner than we thought. Repent and pay homage before the end of Snow!
I do feel like Splinter has the colors he does only for set design requirements, not because it's a match to the character. Hard to see how Splinter is black, much to the chagrin of fans of the "what would all your favorite fictional characters' colors be?" game.
ALL the fans of ninjas remember how powerful Walker of the Secret Ways was. Remember the ninja "dance?" A very good example was shown in Match 1. Love to see it Luca! xD
Hey Mister LVD, do you have a take on Suspicious Stoaway in Nunjitsu? I love the card, but it doesn’t seem to be good anywhere and maybe that’s the shell for it. Or is 2 mana for an evasive creature you bounce already too much?
I mention it at the end of the video. Had it in there originally and it seemed a little slow at enabling Ninjutsu, but in matchups where there's a lot of Reach or Flying it can make the difference.
10:30 could you bounce Biting-Palm Ninja with Fading Hope, then use Ninjutsu of Biting-Palm Ninja in your hand to swap Network Disruptor that is targeted with Vanishing Verse, which in result would make Vanishing Verse lose target? Or in result Vanishing Verse would keep targeting creature, in that case Biting-Palm Ninja?
The opponent cast it before blockers were declared so we were unable to Ninjutsu. Otherwise I could’ve used Ninjutsu thanks to Umezawa. So no need for Fading Hope either way.
Im sorry Ive cheated on you since every streamer is on a rollercoaster of these new decks (Enchantments, Ninjas, Artifacts, etc); but I always come back to you BB cuz you my #1
First of all you dont need many creatures in play. Pretty much all you need is 1 flyer to activate ninjitsu to. My latest video shows 2 of my matches against blue/black removel and mono green ramp. Both of them got absolutely destroyed, the important part here might be my order of play. You'd think Silver-Fur Master may be a good starting hand card because he buffs your 1/1's. As you can see in the video I prefer to ninjitsu Prosperous Thief, replay the 1/1 flyer into ninjitsu Biting-Palm Ninja or Nashi. So you can cripple their hand in turn 3 or bring something into play without paying mana for it. If they dont kill your Biting-Palm Ninja, ninjitsu him and replay at turn 5 to cripple their hand even more. It's actually brutal.
This deck seemed weak. Thousand faced nija + silverfur master work well together, the disruptor is a good backup for the thousand faced ninja, but the rest of the deck didn't seem to do enough
I'm just so thrown off seeing the lists for standard decks again, they feel like they can't possibly be a full deck with everything just "oh yeah multiply this by 4"! Don't mind a bit of standard but I do prefer the variation of Brawl more.
Yea, I’ve found that if you click on the video from your watch history while you’re still watching it sometimes puts them back, no idea why it works but it does.
@@NStripleseven Could just be a matter of waiting long enough. I almost always catch videos a good chunk of hours after posting and I don't think I've seen the bug myself.
They added ninjutsu in here? What about genjutsu and taijutsu? There better be Naruto using nine-tail fox power and it's automatically game over for opponent after that.
Yeah, this is way underpowered compared to other tier 1 decks in standard right now. Look at what happened in these games. White weenies didn't have brutal cathar or that exile creature in opening hand? Extremely rare. Ignition deck didn't combo off. Token deck didn't go off. I would venture a guess that LVD only shows matches where his opponents are mana screwed for 5 turns in a row if it's difficult to get decent wins with the deck. I know he got a cool combo against the mana screwed guy but if that is what's required to hit it, it's not exactly banworthy material.
Wow really? I feel the opposite about boringness. Mutate you just pile up and stuff happens without even attacking. Ninjutsu requires more interaction and because stuff is coming OFF the board while the Ninjas go on, it's not just a forever-increasing pile.
