dont you feel like your mana base could be more interesting then all islands. You barely need blue and you have no need of specific basic land types. so why not have more interaction in your mana base.
@@tarekt8427 Wouldn't want to draw too many of the same Legendary Land and Hall of the Storm Giants seems too slow in this deck, so that doesn't leave many options.
@@LegenVD i forgot how few good lands are in standard. but what about a field of ruin or 2 just in case with all the creature lands. Admittedly you dont want to be stuck with too many colorless. Also i think as a back up plan just one of the Hall of the storm could be ok. It just felt like you were leaving a bit of value from your land slots in a mono color deck. But you being the only streamer who ive ever net decked from (i hate net decking as a rule. Ive netdecked like 4 of your decks and never any other decks ever out of hundreds of decks ive built. I own almost all cards 4x and play mostly historic) i trust your judgment :) p.s. Thanks for your mono white servo deck you did a year or so ago. Its one of my mainstays when i dont have patience and want quick wins. It keeps trucking format after format even in historic with some tweaks. 75% winrate for over a year with this deck.
I assembled (haha!) this deck and faced werewolves. Found Mechtitan and put it together. Hit for 10… what can he do against that big of a flyer? Answer: put Howlpack Avenger into play and Blizzard Brawl my Voltron. Oh no! But I was holding Tezzeret so next turn my disassembled Network Disruptor tapped down his blocker, so I cast Tezz, made something a 4/4, and attacked for lethal. … Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. And thanks LVD for such a fun deck!
Haven't watched the rest of the video but in game 1 I noticed you could put a land into play and then get the artifact land into play off the trigger from technician. Seems like a sweet way to ramp extra lands if you are focused on artifacts.
@@LegenVD I had to replay the entire section up to the Reality Heist to figure out how you got a 5 discount when you clearly only had 4 artifacts out 😄 For some reason it never occurred to me to look for a card type that's a 10 on the storm scale!
Oh, and it's just classic that I made this realization while you were playing a card with Affinity for Artifacts, aka the very reason it got that 10 in the first place.
Great stuff, love seeing you pull of great things with such janky decks. Really appreciate the effort that goes into even the small additions to these videos too like mentioning alternative plays.
Wow, super excited to see new content coming, these vampires and verewolves just got me in the past months, happy to see some ninja artifact decks and so on, and the new font in arena is also more pleasant to see! Thanks Legend
It's kind of depressing that this thing doesn't have a grander animation, actually. No voice clip even, something dorky like "MECHTITAN ASSEMBLED, WAITING FOR ORDERS" would have been very welcome.
@@LegenVD My game crashes sometimes during the animations, perhaps they're having problems and want to fix them first. Does anyone else experience this?
Made a version with fiddlebender and teleportation circle with some artifact creatures and vehicles that get value on entering/leaving battle and it’s really fun! Love weird wincons like mechtitan, so much more interesting than the typical agro or control deck
I am totally missing the reference! Best I could see is that the first letters spell "SLD" which made me think...is LVD going to announce his own Secret Lair Drop?? But clearly there is some theme going on with the words themselves I'm not recognizing hmmm
Youll have to forgive me, I've been watching your videos for over 6 months now, and haven't ever subscribed. That changes today! Thanks for all the great content, keeps me motivated to build decks, although I only play paper magic.
wow I didnt know Borrow Time doesn't remove a token if you bounce it in response to the triggered ability! I was sure it would be exiled at some point, and not come back! WP!
I'm experimenting with Blackstaff of Waterdeep and it seems to work well with Technician or turning 1/1 flyers into great damage. If you are running 3 or 4 drop artifacts it can make some great plays
NEO is already an extremely Yugioh-esque set with all of the anime art and cyborg samurai and stuff (in fact, thank god they didn't print any 8/8 for 8 robot dragons or anything or I'd get really worried), but with mechtitan core they also, mechanically speaking, printed the first ever Synchro monster in Magic history, so that's neat.
It's really weird to me that Tezzeret's -2 turns a non-creature artifact into a 4/4, turns a CREATURE artifact into a 4/4 (which I totally missed on first read), but DOESN'T turn a Vehicle into a 4/4, which is an artifact that's halfway between being a creature and non-creature! [13:50]
The fact that it doesn’t have protection, not even ward 1, and dies to all types of common 1-2 mana removal spells makes it SO BAD! All they had to to was give it some protection… they had 1 job!!!
shouldn't borrowed time still have the etb-trigger before you bounce it at 30:35 ? I've seen couple of plays that actually use enchantments like that and bounce in response to permanently exile stuff. is it different in arena somehow?
Is it really taking off as that was my first brew selesnia Enchantments featuring Hallowed Haunting and jukai naturalist. Sagas and Auras for a controll game
@@dac2007 My bad, thought this was a comment on the UB Ninja video. I initially had a full playset but it does lose value quickly once we get past the first few turns.
i did a oops and built a mono-red artifact token deck around mechtitan core. had 4 other artifacts and the core then it wasnt working. then reread the card and it says "artifact creatures and/or vehicles." boy was my face red. still beat my emote spamming summbich opponent over the head with goldspans though to win. lol
Borrowed Time has a single triggered ability that exiles the permanent until the Borrowed Time leaves the battlefield. When you bounce the Light with the trigger on the stack, when the trigger resolves, since they don't control Borrowed Time nothing will happen.
I kind of think of it like "the effect lasts UNTIL it leaves play...it left play already...so it ended before it even began...so the effect never happens in the first place". In any case, that particular phrasing just has its own rule that declares it works that way, so...that's why it works that way :)
hey, thanks for the content! I'm a noob and would like to know if its still worth it to craft the deck or if its not up to date since streets of new capenna. currently I play a white red aggro deck with the patchwork automaton and maybe the card would work properly in this deck too?
This isn't a very competitive strategy to begin with, so unless you really like Mechtitan you might want to look elsewhere. Can't think of many upgrades with the recent set as there were very few artifacts.
