I really want to get a new 2ds xl for the games but there are a few problems. 1: the speaker placement. Oh my god what a design flaw from Nintendo! 2: they tend to be a bit flimsy and fragile from what I’ve heard. Now the other option is this! The OG 2ds. I think it looks really good! Very cheap now as well. So im not sure..

Same here just modded mine. Have had it for a few years, grabed mine b4 nintendo discontinued it for 60 bucks. After the store shut down i had only purchased crystal and thought the system was just a brick now. Boy was i wrong. Glad ive held onto it, best hand held even over my switch.

I have a 3DS XL. It's honestly amazing and I had it for more than half of my life. I truly love it. I never had a 2DS nor seen one irl, so I don't know how it feels when you hold it, I always liked my console better. I will cherish it for many more years.

You can still buy games by getting an eShop gift card and using that to add funds to your account! I believe the eShop will shut down completely next March. Still plenty of time left to buy games!

Agree 100%. It makes having a spare console for self-trades in Pokémon and solo StreetPassing a snap without breaking the budget, and the wedge-shaped design is SO comfortable to hold!

I have the mario kart 7 edition 2ds and it was my first Nintendo console that actually belonged to me. i still have it to this day and i still think it's the best gaming system with amazing games to play.

The Nintendo 2DS was also the most durable system out of all the 3DS systems. I've owned one for like 6 years before upgrading to the 2DS XL. And during my time of having one, I've dropped it all the time. On hardwood floor to straight up concrete. And the only damaged it suffered was some slight chip damage.

I've managed to obtain a used 2DS with a bunch of DS games for €45 a few months back. I decided to jailbreak it immediately and it quickly became my main method to play 3DS and DS games, despite owning 2 3DS XLs and a New 2DS.

It can also play GBA games but you have to inject them manually :) playing castlvania aria of sorrow and mother 3 is amazing as it feels like a Duel screen original GBA I got mine with pokemon X When it first came out been using it for 9 years and it still going strong They're very durable thanks to not having a hinge

I got one a couple of months ago, so far it's nice, I'm thinking about getting a 3DS though. I had a DS lite when I was a kid and the screen went out on it. I like that the 2DS doesn't fold so wear and tear doesn't apply to hinges.

@@Johnemmet9 as an owner of both I have to say that I still prefer the New 2DS xl over the New 3DS xl. As you said it just simply looks the best(more modern looking)and being lighter is also a big plus, protective cover on the game cartridges slot, easy access to the sd card, home button next to the d pad for easier access. The build quality, and the speakers is all that thing has over the 2ds xl, and only some care about the 3D.

I have recently "played" with my 2DS in years. And omg, I didn't know how small the screen was, and how little detailed was the screen, the screen isn't even in 3D and it already gives me headaches. It's great that I had good memories with it. Edit: Does anyone know which 3DS console is better has a better screen? The New 3DS XL or the New 2DS XL?

I grew up with a New 3DS XL but traded it into GameStop in middle school because I wanted Xbox One games… I still regret that *sigh*. I found a classic red 2DS on eBay with MarioKart 7 for a good price and couldn’t pass it up. It’s a great handheld with a phenomenal library of games. (Especially if you homebrew it)

The 2DS was a great budget console and i owned many duplicates of it, it is comfy, but the screen is fragile and after a few drops, stuff become loose then dead but since it was cheap, we got a replacement, i am probably on my 5th 2DS OG now, although it was way cheaper when Toys R Us was open, but other than outer flaws, it is a perfect console for someone trying to hop into the 3DS Library

actually own a 2ds xl. I love it very dearly. Pretty funny how the original ds got me into gaming at 6 and now at 18 I own the very last DS model. They came a long way with it. Thanks nintendo for nearly 12 years of fun. (talking about DS of course)
