Honorable mentions include PKSM and FTP. PKSM operates similarly to PkHex, but it is an actual app on your console that can be installed via CIA. FTP, which comes pre-installed when you mod your console, allows you to transfer files between your 3DS/2DS and your PC remotely. This is done using the FTP protocol by setting up a host name and port on your console.
I was so excited for Pokemon games on the switch but eventually lost interest so I agree, 3ds can play any mainline game which matter (plus the rest of the vast Library)
I modded my 2ds recently to be able to back up my saves for my actual DS cartridges through checkpoint and its super nice. Gonna download all the virtual console games soon as well!
@@roxas_ssj3457 that’s a little more tricky if you want to do it as legit as possible you need a gen 4 game that is complete along with a gen 5 also complete, send your gen 3 Pokémon to gen 4 via pal park and to gen 5 with (I forgot the name) and then to poketransport and then to home If you don’t care about the legit way you can use pkhex to send to a gen 6 or 7 game and then to Poké bank then to home
Currently playing Pokémon moon on a modded 3ds and loving it, I have a 2ds with pokemon sun previously installed but i had to uninstall for storage space ages ago. Now i have a better SD for my 2ds and now i can battle between the 2 systems giving one to someone else.
Brother, this is unrelated but thanks to your FRLG shiny RNG video I was able to get 3 of my dream shinies. Really appreciate your content and I hope to see you do a video on Gen 5 Shiny Wild Pokemon RNG in the future. Thanks for your informative, straight to the point videos!
I dont mean to be the "erm actually" guy, but it is important to note that twilight menu does not emulate DS ganes. It boots the system into DS mode to play them natively just as it would if you played a retail DS cartridge on an unmodified (or modified) system.
You're correct. "TWiLight Menu++ - Not technically an "emulator", rather it's a frontend for a separate program, nds-bootstrap, which allows for an NDS ROM to be loaded from an SD card. The program is originally designed for the DSi, however it's able to work on the 3DS by utilizing the virtual DSi (aka the TWL_FIRM or "DS Mode") that the 3DS has for backwards-compatibility"
Pksm is on the updater and its basically pkhex on the 3ds, also you can use the ultimate injector to make gba games cia files so you can just download them. The sd card should be set to 64kb clusters so bigger games dont get screen tear. Also there is a forwarder on the updater aswell.
Teach the people how to make cias out of Gen 3 games. Looks way better having them on the 3ds home screen like a virtual game. Rather than opening Luma menu
yeah cias are nice but when you turn the gen 3 games into GBA .cias they are forced to run in the native GBA/DS mode the 3ds comes with, and you cant access the rosalina/luma menu or use speed-up/cheats. when in GBA/DS mode the 3ds part of the system kind of... goes to sleep until you close the game, thats why you cant access the home games without closing the apps.
I’ve backed up all my DS and 3DS pokemon cartridges and there saves to my 128gb sd card it’s so good having them right on the system and not have to carry the carts around
What NOBODY talks about is the fact that resolutions between 3DS and DS consoles are different and then makes all DS games and older looks like a mess of pixels. Why nobody talks about that serious issue?
Been playing DS games on my New 3ds and they look fine. I think it’s just because the xl has a bigger screen and because it’s so low resolution it makes them look worse. A smaller screen will make them look better as it’s a higher pixel density.
If you press start while launching the game from TM++ I think it launches games in their native resolution. But it will appear as a smaller screen on the XL models
Pulled my 2DS out of storage since 2017 and modded it this year- since then I’ve used it as much as my Switch. it’s the best ever Nintendo device for retro games!
Hey can you please make a video about how to make shiny rom hacks. Like regular games but with boosted shiny odds for wild Pokemon. Just bought a 3ds xl and that's all im thinking about. Doing it in between with pksm or hacking pokes one by one in pk hex seems tedious. Im looking to make shiny hax for gens 3 and up. Just want a natural feel of running around and catching shinys without sinking massive amount of time. An additional features would be to make trade/ special evos as level ups. If you've already made these just share the title/ links and ill be mkre than happy to follow along. Major thanks in advance
dude, you don't need a capture card anymore and just the artic base app and special version of citra that stream it on pc. and that capture cards are no more and cost alot and can break your 3ds and are not worth it.
I wanted to transfer my pokemon from Sun and Moon to the Pokemon Home. Unfortunately I didn’t know the news about the serves shutting down, so I couldn’t download Pokemon Bank in time. Someone can help me going through this?
Thank you so much for this info but I have a question. So I recently dug up my old leaf green and found out that my gba still works and I thought a crazy thing. So I want to play all the games from leaf green all the way through the violet and thought to myself how about to hatch a shiny charmander from lg and transfer it to emerald, start the hole journey with a shiny charmander finish the game and hatch again a shiny charmander to transfer it to the next gen and so one so forth. But the problem is I don't have all the Pokémon games, so if I hack my 3ds can I transfer my Pokémon all the way to the Pokémon home and eventually to my switch games or hacking the game considers as cheating. Its so difficult challenge but I really want to try this if its possible... don't know if I confused you but if you can help with this it would be amazing...thanks in Advance!!!!!!
Hey i got question iv user twilight menu about 1year ago and i used to use it for shiny hunting in gen4 games but theres problem with it soft resetting for shinys it takes while for it to boot back up did they fix this issue so its just like real cartridge?
So I have games like renegade platinum and storm silver on my 3ds. Can the Pokemon there be transferred out to Pokemon home? I know you gotta make them legal again tho
Is there a way to RNG these games (more specifically the Gen 3-5 games) on the 3ds like this? including the Gen 3 games that are on the virtural console cia's?
quick question, am i the only one who thinks ds games look really really bad on the top screen? I know you can just long press select to change the screen size to the size of the ds lite screen, but it leaves thick black borders. Is there anyway to make these games look better?
