This game and Mario Kart 7 are what made me get a 3DS in Holiday 2011.

I remember finishing this game 100% on every save file...good times... I honestly like 3d land more than 3d world.

Why am I being recommended this now?

I remember getting the 3DS bundle with this game for Christmas of 2011 and I spent hours and hours playing it. Super Mario 3D Land was an amazing game for an amazing handheld system. 😊

This theme is like a mix of Super Mario 64's bold, brash trumpet and big band feel with Super Mario Bros 3's melodic overworld theme. Day one buy and the reason I'm getting a 3DS.

For some reason, this game is just so nostalgic. kinda like Mario land.

The one difference i saw between the beta and the final version is that the transportation blocks are purple in this version and that they're orange in the final version.

For a second I honestly thought it was a new Mario Game from the title "Super Mario" and thumbnail.

I remember hearing people complain when the games was named "Super Mario 3D land" because it had nothing to do with Mario Land. However, I feel it had more to do with Mario Land than we give it credit for. Mario Land 1 felt like a portable spin-off of Super Mario Bros. Mario Land 2 felt like a portable Spin-off of Mario World. And this one felt like a portable spin off of Galaxy with its linear levels, boxes instead of warp stars and levels hanging in a void...Then Nintendo had to mess it all up by making 3D world 😄

I miss opening my 3ds every morning and playing Super Mario 3D Land Man if only hadn’t lost this game 😕

This game is my childhood, it was my first super mario game that I played on the original blue colored 3DS and I will never forget how the games were playing at various levels: worlds to explore, gradually difficult levels, raccoon mario, the houses of toad, battles against bowser, the 16 worlds, the star coins to be recovered to unlock bowser's castle which required 90 star coins and the final castle which required 100, and louis captured by dry bowser a rather creepy character. I have an emotional connection with this game (childhood forever) Thanks Nintendo for the masterpieces you publish every year and thanks for the wonderful videogame childhood I had with super mario 3d land.

Also the sound of these purple-aquatic-monsters is different now. 1:08 This teleporting box is not here in the final version of the game, alos where is the flag ? 1:14 This Bowser Battle doesn't exist too in the final, but it seems like a recreation of the battle in World 1-Castle, 5-Castle and 8-Castle N°1. Or the final boss, who knows ? ;) 1:17 Nintendo showed us the exact same place who's appearing around of 1:08, so why is the upstairs to the flag aren't the same ? And why is the flag only appears at this moment ? 0:17 No pirhana plant on the pipe. It is only on the final version again... 0:21 The camera angle in this level is ALSO-AGAIN different in the final version. 0:32 There are none of these blocks in - guess what - the final version. 0:47 The teleporting box in the background does not seems like that in - of course ;)) - the final game. 0:52 They never add a red rotating block after the blue and yellow ones... And the last one : **That's the first time Nintendo nammed their game Super Mario only, WOAW !**

I know this is old, but man rewatching this trailer hits my nostalgia...HARD! i remember getting this game and MK7 early christmas 2011/2012 and playing them every morning. don't know why but this game was difficult and i spent countless hours to where it was literally at the top of my activity log. im 21 and now replaying this again i beat this game in a total of 2 days. it's crazy how time flies.

Posting this almost 11 years after the game was released. Boom Boom’s voice sounds so bizarre this trailer, and it’s very out-of-character in my opinion. I’m very, VERY glad that they changed it in the final release.
