Nintendo eShop: Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance on the Wii U Virtual Console

This was my very first Castlevania game. :3

Thank you Nintendo for releasing this game on the Wii U. I wanted to play this game again. I was going to play it on emulator, but now I'm going to buy it in order to play it legally.

I can literally play GBA games on my calculator, but I can't play them on my 3DS?

I love this game! It's so underrated!

Nintendo needs to implement cross buy, I want this game on my 3DS not my Wii U

So...about about Harmony of Despair? The Wii U's gamepad will be perfect for local co-op!

Although the soundtrack isn't the greatest, I think it's still a pretty fun game!

I miss this game.

I always wondered if the title was the result of a translation error or if they were just trying to be edgy. Harmony of Dissonance. Dissonance is a harmony. Dissonance can only be achieved through harmony and therefore the term Dissonance not only implies harmony but it's just a form of harmony. The only correct ways to use this would be to say Castlevania: Dissonance or Castlevania: Dissonant Harmony. Harmony of dissonance makes no sense as a harmony can't be "Of" anything unless you want to talk about scale intervals in which case the title would have to be Castlevania: Harmony of a Root and Diminished fifth.

The frigging fastest-paced Castlevania. Making Juste zip around Dracula's castle is so fun. It's my personal favorite Castlevania.

While Circle of the Moon is overrated & just mediocre, Harmony of Dissonance is underrated & a fantastic game. Despite the soundtrack being low-quality, everything about this game is a massive improvement over Circle of the Moon since Koji Igarashi was involved in this game(As I know, he's not involved in Circle of the Moon). Gameplay having the roots & formula of Symphony of the Night(I loved the Spell Fusion system since it's especially helpful in most situation especially Wind Book+Cross combo), much smoother & faster controls than Circle of the Moon's stiff controls, visual presentation having the massive improvement over Circle of the Moon's bland graphics, physics similar to SOTN, much improved functionality(Since it has the shop what Circle of the Moon don't), improved challange than Circle of the Moon's frustrating challenges, & a better replay value than it's lacking predecessor(Playing as Maxim & having a Boss Rush is much better than Circle of the Moon's lacking replay value). Harmony of Dissonance does what Circle of the Moon don't. One of my favorite Castlevania games I've played. Still think that Aria of Sorrow is a much better GBA game than Harmony of Dissonance though.

I really wish the EU was getting these castlevania games rather than Dankey Kang this month...

hopefully this one will be out in europe sometime soon, the US store got the games close to each other iirc and i really want to play the GBA vanias, just finished circle of the moon.

Despite its flaws Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance is still a great game in its own right. I loved playing it back in the day, but Aria of Sorrow was my favorite of the three Castlevania GBA games. Aria of Sorrow releases next week on eshop! :D

I still don't understand why they show these videos within another screen. It's just smaller footage that accomplishes nothing!

You know I have been a fan of Castlevania since the beggining. I own every piece of Castlevania merchandise ever made even one of the arcade machines. I am a full time family man of five children, and yes this means 7 3ds machines in the house, full time worker, full time student working on pharmacology, and human behaviour doctorines. Is it really that stupid to want more castlevania options on the 3ds, and why? I understand trying to push sales but.....WOW! how many others are getting a little tired of seeing this. Just saying my family loves 3DS and Castlevania; so to us its not about the money its about preference. Sorry to anyone who may be offended; I really needed to vent about this.

Did they remastered the audio? Because if I remember correctly the reason why the music sounded so bad was because there was no more space in the cart so they had to compress it a lot, that shouldn't be a problem now so if they didn't fix it it's a bad port and they are lazy.

I do not agree, circle of the moon is not overrated compared to Aria of sorrow Its the opposite.

Definitely the worst audio of the 3 castlevania games on gba (except for that main theme) but overall still up there in gameplay.

Of all the GBA and DS Castlevania games, this is the only one I played to completion yet remember almost nothing about. Not a good sign.

Why not a remake for this game? would be much better.

This is a really underrated game just because it's a weaker Castlevania game. It hangs out in the same sort of Limbo as Mega Man 5 or say... Assassin's Creed 3 will sit in people's mind's for a modern example.

Nintendo, we have consoles and emulators... make HD versions of classic games... don't download roms and make an emulators for your consoles ¬¬
