In an effort to push video content out to its consumers in the mid to late 90s, Nintendo distributed VHS tapes, often free of charge, via mail and retail outlets. These videos showcased select games and consoles in an attempt to market them to target audiences using contrived plots and over-the-top actors.
This video (part 10 of 10) presents "Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask" that Nintendo distributed via Toys 'R' Us stores in 2000 to promote the sequel to Ocarina of Time. The Toys 'R' Us announcer takes viewers from the store to hear more about the game from Nintendo Game Guru Chris Campbell. Viewers are urged to reserve a copy of the game at Toys 'R' Us with at $10 deposit. The pre-order guarantees the Limited Edition gold cartridge with lenticular label. Additionally, those who pre-order before October 25th will get a $10 discount off of the limited edition gold N64 controller which retailed for $29.99. Finally, the last few minutes are dedicated to a preview of Banjo-Tooie, the sequel to Banjo-Kazooie. Armond Williams, Nintendo Game Expert discusses the game over footage.
