This year seemed like a buffer for the Switch 2, but now it seems like a banger!
Nintendo's seemingly been holding back lately. After skipping their usual winter Nintendo Direct and releasing remakes/remasters like Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, people have been assuming that the heavy hitters wouldn't come until the launch of the next console.
That all changed with the most recent Nintendo Direct, however. Games like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Mario and Luigi: Brothership, Super Mario Party Jamboree, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and more all prove that the Nintendo Switch still has some life in it. Even Nintendo Switch Sports got an update!
Even third party releases like Stray, an HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest 3, and Ace Attorney Investigations Collection all show that third parties are very much still focused on putting out high quality Switch games.
I think that the real fever for a successor to the Nintendo Switch was fueled by a desire for more games, not necessarily more hardware power. This Nintendo Direct completely solved that issue!
