So this video make me think when inklings are fighting octolings, on the side of inklings seems like octolings are the bad guys, but actually from the side of octolings is the same but inklings looks like the bad guys, so my conclusion is, No one is the bad guy, everyone wants the samething, freedom and peace, maybe if they talk one to each other :/

Canon, pretty much. The Octarians waged war against Inkopolis out of desperation since their homes were running out of power and were getting harder and harder to maintain. While it would be likely they could come to an agreement, old grudges are most likely keeping that from happening.
