Please more of these!! I waited for a new one of your hidden gems for switch, it’s so much on the e shop now. I feel so lost sometimes. And hate these all the same we all know top 10 lists. Yours are really really well made and you picked always something I like to try immediately. Nice explanation and also nice team!! Keep up MetalJesusRocks!! You guys are so awesome!! And now with the switch we can’t be happier but it’s so much and overwhelming yeah 🤪🤘
MetalJesusRocks u shouldn't miss out on FE !! one hell of a cute little beautiful game!! :D check it out the gameplay ist really unique didn't see any other game like this so well
Can we get a 2nd hidden gems for switch video? It’s been a while since the first, would love to see some of your recommendations after having played more!
A few hidden gems I like. - Blossom Tales. The title turned me off quite a lot, but then I actually played it. In short, this is Legend of Zelda: A Link to the past, as told by a grandfather to his two granddaughters. The story is obviously different, but the gameplay is LoZ through and through, and the humor is spot on for the most part. Highly recommended for fans of Zelda. - The Mummy Demastered. Can't recommend this one enough. Yes, it's based on the movie... sort of, but the story is all new, and you play as a random soldier rather than Tom Cruise. Or soldiers, as when you die, your corpse wakes up as a machinegun wielding zombie. Oh, and it's Metrovania all the way. From the people behind Shantae. What more do you really need to know? - Cat Quest. Like Blossom Tales, the title can be a major turn-off for some, me included. But it's actually a pretty good game, with tons of great humor (at least if you like puns...), and the gameplay solid. - Atelier Lydie and Suelle. Two girls live in a small town and wants to be great alchemists. So... they try to become better alchemists. That's the story. It's cute, very relaxed and has ton of humor (common for most games on the list, I know...), and is a very nice break from all the hardcore monster hunting, army killing and world saving we tend to do. - Nights of Azure 2. From the people who made Atelier comes a fun game where you pretty much hack and slash your way through the levels, while making sure you level up, do side quest and don't let the time run out. A rather fun, if weird game. The "timer on every chapter" can be a turn-off, but it's not as bad as it sounds, and the rest of the game makes up for it. - Dragon Quest Builders. Shouldn't be a hidden gem by any means, but worth mentioning anyway. The world is destroyed, so a legendary builder (you) wakes up from a deep sleep and starts to restore the world again, building one town at a time. Very simple combat and building mechanics, but very addictive and fun.
Couldn't agree more! I've got Xbone, PS4 and PC but I play my Switch so much more than them 😂 I had to get myself one since the first one was for my son and I wanted to play it too, and now my wife says she needs one 😅
Wulverblade is a pretty solid Switch beat-em-up game in a similar vein to Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, etc. - with the fun twist that it's set in Rome-conquered Britain! There's a lot of neat historical info, and the team did a couple tours of the area the game's inspired by to make sure it was as accurate as possible. I reviewed it back when it came out, it's surprisingly meaty and pretty fun, even more so if you have a buddy to play with!
The Golden Bolt's Game Reviews Omg, you just made my day. I've been looking for a good Final Fight and Streets of Rage clone for a while now. I was looking into getting Raging Justice but it just didn't look all that great from the RU-vid videos of people playing it. Will definitely check out Wulverblade.
If you're gonna pick it up, take note of these two things before you do! These are my only two significant problems with the game, and one of them may have been fixed since it went multiplatform for all I know: First, the game advertises "global" leaderboards, but all leaderboards were local at the time I reviewed the game (a few weeks after it hit Switch); second, the weapons are implied to be unique, but they generally do the same damage for their class (light or heavy). That's not a big deal, but the way the game sets them up makes you think they'll have slightly tweaked stats and stuff, so I'm just mentioning this so you don't get your hopes up. Beyond that, it's a very solid game, probably in the top few beat-em-ups on Switch if not the number one outright!
The Golden Bolt's Game Reviews The biggest jssue I had were the load times. Some of the worst on the Switch. Still a blast, but prepare to make a sandwich between levels.
Reggie!!! Check out Gal Gunvolt on the Vita or Mighty Gunvolt Burst on the Switch (same game). Great 8bit style game that plays like the Mega Man series (devs worked on Mega Man 9 and 10).
Is it any good? Currently playing Xenoblade, next rpg will be Octopath. The characters reminded me of Beyond Good & Evil. At least the trailer he showed here
I recommend these Switch games as well. Knight Terrors Blossom Tales Mighty Gunvolt Burst Blaster Master Zero Battle Chef Brigade Wulverblade Deemo Golf Story Fast RMX Celeste
Kaiser499 I've just 'finished' blossom tales, loved every minute! Waiting for gunvolt to come up in a decent sale to pick up, seems pricey to me at full price
Ive added a few of these to my watch list for later thankyou Skies of Fury DX, Mantis Burn Racing, Sky Force Reloaded, Toki Tori, Aqua Kitty UDX look interesting.
Another hidden gem I recommend is Battle Chef Brigade. It's a mix of 2D platformer and match 3 games, and the artstyle is full of life and absolutely gorgeous.
For how many games I currently have for my switch, I’m honestly shocked that I haven’t played a single one of these! I know it’s a “hidden gems” list but nearly every other similar video I usually own at least half of the games. It’s quite refreshing. I’ll definitely be checking some of these games out. Thanks!
Mantis Burn is cool, a la Motorstorm RC, and I really enjoy it, but the online play doesn't usually have any open matches that I've ever seen, and I'm on the Pro level 2 I think.....does anyone else notice that online play is usually empty?!?!?
Your channel is great for me to get around what games to get for my Switch, I've made a couple of wrong choices with games that weren't worth the price for me but I usually trust your taste, you know your gaming :P
It is! I bought it the other day. For just 20 bucks, you get the old FF9 experience all over again, with character progression similiar to FFX-1 if you're familiar with those games. However, the combat system is a lot smarter since then. :)
Night in the Woods. Played it on Steam. Still can't believe how good it was. Cute widdle cartoon animals with the most real problems and dialogue you've ever seen. Add an amazing soundtrack, and it's one of the best games I've played in years. I'm on like playthrough 5 or 6 and I'm still finding things I missed.
If you like twin stick shooters, NeuroVoider is a must. Up to four players couch co-op, random levels, random enemies, random item drops and upgrades. If you die once (or if you nor any of your friends can survive a level) game over. Excellent soundtrack too.
You have to mention Floor Kids (break dancing rhythm game). That game deserves so much more attention. It was a very successfully accomplished passion project that is a blast to play with friends.
Josh Rafail yeah, if when I finally buy a Switch I want Kid Koala sounds to inspire me to play. I heard that game is short af tho. Given budget is limited I hope I can still buy physical and support that studio for a much deeper sequel.
Sky Force Reloaded is a fantastic party game! It’s great fun to switch controllers between each other, and co-op through the game. The gameplay is so addicting, that we end up playing all night, which we have done several times. Buy it!! ❤️
Saito86 I'd say that's probably the best thing to do though for a true price drop considering how almost all switch games have held their value at $60 might be best to check Craigslist get it pre-owned or wait for a gamestop sale.
Thanks for the Skyforce Reloaded suggestion. I’m completely hooked!! I’m generally terrible at top down shooters, but this one has such strong mechanics and tight controls it’s impossible not to love. The core gameplay loop with the drip drip of progression is expertly done…just one more run…
Always willing to eat up Switch recommendations. I was on the fence about getting Skies of Fury, but I'm most definitely sold on it now, so thanks! However, in regards to the Kona section...let's all agree to kill the term "walking-simulator" once and for all! It's super reductive.
I do not have an Switch, but it was good I watched this Video, I played Sky Force Reloaded almost all weekend on my Xbox! Totally addicted! I want more games like that! The last time I was this into a SHMUP, must have been when I played Tyrian! 20+ years ago! I wonder if Tyrian is still as good.
Even for a non-Switch owner, there is enjoyment for me in these videos. I never know when I may obtain a console. But when I do I like knowing whats out there. And even if I don't get to them, its a good time watching. Keep em coming! 💪👍
There are Xbox One hidden gems? Lol, there's barely any Xbox games that aren't on every other platform including a smart phone, let alone anything that's "hidden", Halo 13 is hardly hidden, nor is Forza 28.
systematik lol does it matter?? The "hidden gems" metal jesus shared for the switch aren't exclusives either............... So your point being what again?
can't believe it took 20 years to get the sequel of Mario 64, never mind the best Zelda game of all time, god bless the Nintendo Switch, with everyone doubting Nintendo it rose from the ashes like a Phoenix
+aquacamel which one is that? the game boy one? DX? yes that one is great, loved it as a kid and finally beat it on my 3DS download, link between worlds was pretty good too, minish cap is a great top down Zelda as well
Yooo, you and I are set out on a journey to prove to everyone that the nintendo switch is definitely the greatest console ever lmao.. Keep up the quality content!
Sumer is an amazing board like game that started on Kickstarter...Brilliant fun in both single and multiplayer for up to 4 players... you can adjust the difficulty and play 2,4or 6 round games...one of my favourite games and easily the most overlooked game on switch😎👍
I would recommend Serial Cleaner. It's a 2D stealth game with '70s vibe. You're a cleaner and have to clean murder scene without being discovered. If you get caught, it will be a lot harder...
Yeah none of these games are for me, still waiting on the game that blows my mind and makes me buy a switch . Thanks for the video MJR! Always appreciate the effort.
Game Opinions You know there are people who looks for content in games and not the damn graphics. A game without a heart and soul is just another Call of Battleduty Fieldfront.
Game Opinions for me , No. I grew out of Mario. I only have interest in playing the classic ones I played as a kid. Have no interest in playing zelda. The art style in BOTW looks ugly to me. There would have to be some exclusive survival horror game that's good enough for me to get a switch. Same as I bought a gamecube, at the time resident evil 4 was an exclusive and I bought it then
I’m still not sold on the Switch. Now with DK Tropical Freeze, I’m getting there though. I’ll probably wait for Yo-kai Watch 4, at least if they release 3 and Busters on the 3ds first. Not that anyone was asking 😂
You could also try Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It's very JRPG-ish compared to the first one (I never played X); but if you like Yokai Watch because of collecting Yokai, you miiight like XB2 as well.
At the crazy rate the switch shop is getting games i cant keep up! Videos like this are awesome. Thank you MetalJesus! At least two of those i plan to pick up now. \m/
I've been following you for a while and never commented before, but I wanted to say I always look forward to your videos! You make great content and you're a super nice guy! Keep it up! :)
I know the Switch community definitely appreciates these videos because sometimes we don't wanna risk a buy on a eShop game if its not praised for being good. I'm glad you did this video so I can play some new eShop games I had no idea that was on there.
80's Overdrive is a great racing game. It's a Outrun, Too gear snes style racing game. Great vehicles to choose Delorean to Ferraris. Great Synthwave soundtrack to boot.
oh yeah i saw that one too. i just figure you done so many of them you ran out of hidden gems. or you don't have as much time to sit down and find them much. not complaining just an observation i made. i like these whenever they come out
I have to disagree about Earthlock. As someone who loved jrpgs of the SNES and PSX era, I rarely find modern jrpgs I enjoy. They've changed the genre so much that I'd actually consider the newer "jrpgs" to be a completely different type of rpg genre. I've even played the games which promise a revival of the old school feel, like I am Setsuna and Lost Spehere, and found them a bit soulless, although beautiful and visually familiar. Earthlock has been the best jrpg I've played since the old school days - in maybe 12+ years. Ironically, it's not even from Japan.
Been playing Skies of Fury lately myself and it’s so fun to just play. Trying to beat all the challenges and unlock all the skins and reticles have been a nice motivator.
10 Second Run Returns. It's graphics are simple and nice to look at, it's got a lot of levels and it's fairly difficult. You have to complete the level within 10 seconds, collecting all the stars in the level. They small levels but some of them pack quite a punch.
